I don't remember it exactly but it involves a politician going door to door campaigning for votes before an election. He comes across one resident who I think is a farmer and he has a talk with him. The conversation ends with the farmer promising to vote for the politician but the politician has to keep a promise or something. I think the farmer might be revered as a wise person among the community and the politician later has him come to his speeches and say a few words.
I could add more but the more I add the less accurate it is likely to be. I'm not sure where I heard it, it might have been on snopes but I can't find it there now.

Especially this season every episode has been amazing. If you have 20 minutes try watching the episode "The Hot Towel" The entire episode builds up to what I feel is the funniest scene of television maybe of all time. I had to watch it over 20 times before I could watch it without laughing hysterically.
The scene is on youtube and there are only 17 comments and these are some of them
This is the funniest thing I've seen this year
I laughed so hard @ this, i cried
i watch this everyday and still laugh.
When I was watching this live I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. Now I watch this scene whenever I'm in a bad mood and it cheers me up. Best show on t.v!!!
I literally called everyone in my house downstairs to watch this half a dozen times on ondemand.
I watch this everyday and made his swearing my ringtone. Larry David is a fucking genius.
I really can't post the clip here because I feel that every episode builds up making it funnier and funnier so it wouldn't do it justice to post the scene alone.
You can watch the episode here http://www.ninjavideo.net/video/44685

I am proud to say that I am ICCup's newest D+. To be honest I thought it would have been a lot harder to get there, mostly because I've been playing a lot of "1v1 play/obs" on U.S. East and D+ seemed like pro gamer level according to some people...
I'm not playing that well. This LAN latency is really messing me up, I can't even micro goons, they just don't fire because I'm not used to the timing. My splits are terrible, but that's not incredibly important. The main thing screwing me over is this chair that has annoyingly high and wide arm rests. I would use a different chair, but this one is very comfortable and I'm not taking starcraft that seriously.
Not quite sure why I am playing Iccup, maybe I'm just curious to see how high I could get.
P.S. does anyone know how the minerals in maps like Destination work? Where there are patches blocking a ramp and it says "0" minerals. I've broking through them before with a worker or 2 just mining but anyone know specifics on how long it takes to mine through and if it is faster if I put multiple workers on it?

I lost my internet connection this morning. A few hours later I got around to calling my ISP for tech support and the tech support guy told me my connection was "deactivated by the securities department" and he gave me a number and ref. number to call. They said my connection was deactivated because of copyright infringement for Frost/Nixon. They said I had to stop sharing it for them to turn it back on. I deleted it from my torrent and they turned my internet back on. Anyone ever hear anything like this happening? I use Vuze for torrents and COX is my ISP.

What's the deal with humans and their obsession with continuing their survival as a species?
Whenever there is a movie/t.v. show in which some catastrophic event occurs and mankind is faced with extinction a couple things usually happen. First, they try to avoid the catastrophe. This I understand. If we have the ability to drill holes in asteroids or to the center of the earth and set off nukes, I'll fully support this idea. The thing I don't understand is when or if their plan fails, they will occasionally have this back up plan, in which 1,000 or so of the smartest doctors / scientists / politicians all go to the secret bunker underground so they can wait for the nuclear winter to end and begin rebuilding society. I mean, really?! If you spend thousands of years making a sand castle and it gets knocked over by a wave, do you stick your hands right back into the sand and start over? When does "ah.. screw it" come into the equation?
Another thing I don't understand is the movie Children of Men. The movie is about the earth in which babies are unable to survive, and the youngest person in the world is like 20, and mankind is obviously coming to an end. Everybody in the movie is terribly depressed. That's a pretty poor attitude in my opinion. I think it should be more like the last day of high school when everybody is like "well, it's been fun" instead of "When I'm dead there won't be other people that are still alive, oh no!" I guess the only thing worth living for is knowing that life goes on when you die? huh? Besides, is that really such a bad thing, considering how destructive human's have been on the planet?
More recently in the news is the story of a woman who gave birth to 8 babies when she already has 6 toddlers at home for a total of 14 kids. There has been outrage over stories that the woman was recently seen getting a manicure despite the fact that she uses food stamps / other government programs to feed her family. A lot of people seem to think you shouldn't have children if you can't afford to care for them. I tend to agree.
Which brings me to my final question..
I just saw this video on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnwxvDnjyDc#
I think most of us here are aware of extreme poverty in other parts of the world, so that shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone. But with all the news about Octo-Mom recently, I never thought about it this way. That's A LOT of hungry children. That's also A LOT of parents having children that they can't support in countries where they are less likely to receive assistance. The children are expected to care for their parents when they get older. In one hand we have a woman who receives hundreds of death threats every day because she uses food stamps to feed her children and in the other hand we're asking for $3 billion to feed hungry children, but do very little to ask why they are hungry or how to get them out of the cycle of poverty. Is that a double standard?

A bit over 2 years ago I bought this mouse after hearing about it for sale in this thread http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=43887
It's a really awesome mouse, but I seem to have this bizarre problem where every few months for 1-2 weeks, the left mouse button will become somewhat non-responsive or it will double click everytime I single click. Trying to highlight text to copy/paste is almost impossible. The double click causes you to fumble up any drop down menu as it will immediately click a random advertisement on the web page you are viewing after you use the drop down menu. I googled this and I found a few other posts of Diamondback users that say they've experienced this same problem.
Now I'm thinking I should just get a new mouse, but I don't know what I want. I favor razer heavily over logitech, but now I don't know if I can trust them
Any other people use this mouse or have heard of this problem? Anyone know how to take apart this mouse and/or clean it? Thanks for your time!

This is about the t.v. show Lost. Spoilers are up to the end of the last season. There's nothing about the new season.
So I've been trying to make sense of this whole 'we have to lie' thing. Six of the survivors make it off the island, and instead of telling society about their friends that were left behind, they tell everyone that they're dead. They're long gone. Don't even bother looking because you won't find anymore survivors. WHAT?! Then they go on with their lives. Kate has her trial, Hurley goes into a mental institution, Sayid works for Ben, Sun does whatever, for YEARS. They completely abandon their fellow survivors and don't even think twice about it.
Imagine being on a desserted island with someone and they build a raft and get to society. Instead of sending help to rescue you, they tell everybody you're dead and there is no point in looking for you.
The reason they give for doing this is to "protect them." Presumably protect them from Charles Widmore. If they really wanted to protect them, they would go to the press and explain how Charles Widmore is an accessory to murder. Try to get rescue teams in the area instead of keeping it nice and private for Charles Widmore to pull the same thing again. In fact, by lying, the only people they are decieving is the greater public. Charles Widmore knows the dummy plane he put in the ocean isn't really 815. He knows the island is still out there. He's not going to stop looking, only good, honest rescue workers are going to stop looking.
And another thing, if they are going to stage a "lie" like this, where Desmond and the chopper piot go onto Penny's boat, why did they not leave Claire's baby on Penny's boat as well? Instead of try to pull a double lie that he is Kate's son. Nobody buys that. Kate was 100 lbs when arrested, everybody would know if she was six months pregnant.
The only answer people give me is "they will explain it this season!" Oh please, they never explain anything on this show. What's the smoke monster? Who are The Others? What was the Dharma initiative? Why is there a crazy French lady on the island? What are the numbers and what point do they serve? Instead they just introduce more plot turns. Omg now there is a freighter, now there is time travel, now there are even more people that want to kill you for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Probably the reason why the season premeire had 25% fewer viewers than last season. I bet they start dropping below 10million viewers a night soon.
