Death Wish

Oh. My. God.
Can I just enshrine my request to be buried in a coffin like that when I die?

Job Applications - Aftermath
Lhyviathan, May 17 2008
Didn't make it to any of the firms I applied for.
I did get to the final stage for KPMG and Pitcher Partners.
Pitcher Partner's main reason for not giving me an offer was because of the personality test.
Is it just me, or is that really discouraging? I mean, if I screwed up the interview, or my group interactions were weak, then that's fine. I can fix that. It's a little more difficult (read 'impossible') to fix a personality. Looks like I'll need to figure out how to lie on these tests.
Oh well, time to look for some alternatives.

Microing on Three Fronts
Lhyviathan, Apr 28 2008
For those who hadn't read my inaugural blog post, I am now in the midst of trying to secure a job position for when I graduate. Over the next three days, I have:
Tuesday - Deloitte group-work task. I think the point of this is for them to assess how well we work in teams. My strategy is to sort of facilitate the discussion, without dominating it... because people who dominate team discussions fail at life.
Wednesday - Interview with Grant Thornton.
Thursday - Interview with KPMG.
Good luck to everyone else in my position!

Job Applications!
Lhyviathan, Apr 26 2008
Hello, TL.
I'm kicking off this blog with the news that I've recently finished mass-applying for full-time jobs when I graduate, at the end of this year.
I've applied to: - Westpac and Commonwealth Bank (two of Australia's main banks) - 5 mid-tier Accounting firms (Pitcher Partners, Grant Thornton, Moore Stephens, PKF, HLB Mann Judd) - The Big 4 Accounting firms (PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG)
So far, I have been rejected by: PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Commonwealth Bank
And, I have interviews with: Deloitte, KPMG (basically, my first choices), Grant Thornton, and Pitcher Partners
Wish me luck!
