I realize that everyone has higher standards of quality games due to TSL2, but this is one of my favorite games I have played, if that means anything at all haha. Please have a look if you've got a minute! It's a nice game.
I am not sure if someone else is playing on his account - mainly because this guy had only 200 APM vs me. Nevertheless, westcanon got A+ in Season 14 OMG.
After the busiest two weeks of my life, I am finally finished with midterms and began working on my 10,000th post. I am not going to say what it's about but I will make sure it's good.
So with more time on my hands and the 10k mark fast approaching, I just wanted to make a blog where you guys can ask me anything. StarCraft, school, life, whatever. I feel like I have been around this site forever - since mid 2004 - but a lot of you guys don't know anything about me "the dude with the weird snowmen icon."
A little background: My name is Ray and I am a college student. Although I benefit from TL far more than I contribute, I guess some of my work comes from translating. My only notable work thus far is the Taek-Bang Era article. I worked as staff for half a year before going inactive mainly due to school. Back in high school, I played StarCraft quite competitively and still am part of the USA B team.
i wanna hear some of your pledging tasks (fraternity) from the past and whatever stories (credible ones) you have heard of. rush is coming towards the finishline; i am learning towards accepting the bid and doing the pledging. sort of nervous though. im curious what things some of you had to do. share please!
(only task i have heard of so far is the basic wake up at 4 am and run. also heard some frats do the gay porn + donut task - what the fuck)
I am a total computer newb so I am wondering if there's a simpler and easier solution to fix this problem. (rather than the ones posted in that thread) Thanks in advance!
Does anyone know how to get rid of mouse acceleration on Windows Vista? I just installed StarCraft on my new laptop, but failed to find any information on how to do this. Searched TeamLiquid and Google without much help. I own a Diamondback 3G if that matters at all. (I am not running the Razer Mouse software, though.)
Playing StarCraft with acceleration is a serious pain in the ass. Thanks in advance!
In the midst of OSL, MSL, GOM, and Proleague Finals, I doubt many people follow the STX Masters matches. I haven't watched the matches either, besides a couple VODs here and there.
Earlier today I was just going through some YouTube videos and somehow stumbled across this amazing game between SangHo and Guemchi on Heartbreak Ridge. I wanted to recommend it to everyone; YOU MUST WATCH. Truly epic. The YouTube video had low views and comments, which made me assume a lot of people haven't watched it. Who knew one of the best games of 2009 would come from this underrated STX Masters?
Today is the annual Senior Skip Day at my school, but I caught the flu at the worst time ever and I have nothing to do besides sit in front of my computer. All the other kids are hanging out at the beach...
Anyway, I looked through some old and recent photos throughout my last year of high school, and thought I would share some of them. It would also keep me occupied for a little bit, hopefully
- My official senior picture!
- The infamous "senioritis." According to urbandictionary.com:
Senioritis: NOUN - A crippling disease that strikes high school seniors. Symptoms include: laziness, an over-excessive wearing of track pants, old athletic shirts, sweatpants, athletic shorts, and sweatshirts. Also features a lack of studying, repeated absences, and a generally dismissive attitude. The only known cure is a phenomenon known as Graduation.
Hahaha, I am taking the best nap ever. (blue sweatshirt)
- First semester finals "study" session.
- St.Patrick's Day. Only the kids who wore green got to be in the picture ;P
- Church camps I went to.
- Colleges! Couple weeks ago I went to go visit Duke University, and was fortunate enough to stay with Empyrean there. Even though I had not made my decision yet, we were already talking about our future StarCraft LAN plans and what not I am also hoping to visit Klogon in Philly pretty soon.
- Prom 09 was last weekend. A night to remember, for sure. Notice how I have the same face in every picture lol.
I am planning on buying a new laptop in a week or two that I will be using in college (also because I need one right now), and I would like to get some feedback. MacBook Pro (15 inch, 2.4 GHZ: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook_pro) is on top of my list right now, but some people told me that it's definitely not worth the money.
Is it really overpriced? How much better of a laptop can I purchase with the same amount of money? Since I would have to take it around various classes, what are some other ideal high performance laptops? By the way, I am not really interested in building one. Thanks!
I have my first college (undergrad) interview tomorrow and I have no idea what to expect. Are the questions just typical "What are you passionate about?" and "Why do you like this school?" I am hoping the interviewer is nice, it's some 50 year old woman.
Does anyone have any important last minute advice? I am kinda scared..
So yesterday I looked at the calendar for the first time in a while only to realize there are 5 days of summer left. Panicking, I went through my backpack and pulled out the untouched Extended Essay (4000 words? fuck), some history reading, and about 5 other assignments I forgot about.
Oh shit, school is backkk
But hey, I am finally a senior! Everyone talks about how great senior year is, so I will try to enjoy it as much as possible. I just can't wait until second semester when I will be done with college apps and all that fun stuff.
Looking back, I can proudly say it's been a very productive summer:
1) Got through the internship well. Received some excellent recs ;D 2) Studied for SAT IIs. Fucking history was the worst book I've ever had to go through. 3) Finished writing college essays for the most part. 4) Visited colleges. I actually just got back from California yesterday, after taking Berkeley/Stanford tours. I think I might've seen evanthebouncy at Cal but I was too scared to go up and say hi. 5) Had a nice time with family/friends.
Goals for upcoming school year: 1) No StarCraft. 2) Edit college essays, I think they still need some work. Also finish the early action application by mid October. 3) Study more for SAT IIs. Fucking history. 4) Go to bed early. I guess this kind of relates to my goal #1. Throughout my entire junior year I never went to bed past 1:00AM because I would always stay up to get some StarCraft session in. Then the next day my economics teacher would get very very mad when I fall asleep in class.
A video taken by my friend in the dreaded Econ class (Don't know how to rotate it):

5) Play lots of tennis. I didn't get to play as much last year because I was busy all the time but definitely going for the number one spot this year 6) Have a successful year in Leadership. Been in it forever, it's finally my chance to take charge.
