As many people are aware, Livestream has been one of the most important discoveries to date in the foreign Starcraft scene. To date, Teamliquid has over 100 user streams, with typically at least 1-2 online at any given time streaming either their games on Iccup or live Korean pro matches.

For people to stream FPVODs to the public en masse was simply unheard of before. Nowadays, we have access to watch some of the best foreigners stream their live games. Just a year ago, who would have imagined such a thing could happen?

However, for those who simply follow the Korean pro scene, Livestream has completely changed how we watch games. In the past, poor quality MMS links and streams off Pot Player and Daum Sports were relied heavily upon to watch OSL/MSL/PL games. But if those went down, everyone resorted to a select few who had working streams to live report in what we now call LR threads. Just over a year ago, we'd still see LR threads filled with people live reporting in detail what went on in game. As streams went down quite often, people simply read the LR thread for what went down in each match.

Nowadays, our LR threads are pretty much filled with posts such as "Oh, Bisu is winning, as he kills an expo" followed immediately by a post 2 minutes later saying "Oh, JD comes back and kills Bisu. GG". While the quality of LR threads has decreased, this can be somewhat attributed to live streaming, as everyone nowadays can simply watch what's going on for themselves. Whether or not this is a good thing is still up in the air. The jury's still out on this. At times, I miss the old LR threads, but I love being able to personally watch games live.

So I'd like to take this time to pay some tribute to the people that make this happen for the community, whether they stream their own games or Korean pro games. Streaming takes quite a lot of time and effort and often times causes computers to lag at times, so the effort of attempting to stream in game or dedicating a PC to stream OSL/MSL/PL while not being able to do much else is greatly appreciated.

Personally, I'd like to thank Rage for his kickass guide to Streaming on Mogulus (Now Livestream), as well as ret, nongmin, and all the other streamers who stream their own games. But lastly, I'd like to give a shoutout to those who stream PL/OSL/MSL. So I'd like to shoutout to Konadora (Your stream was the first I watched), TOP (Kickass quality streams), Kentor (Where would we be without Zeroboy?), Drivec (Saved our asses at WCG), Solin (Your chan is like home), and others I might have forgotten. Without you guys, the LR threads would be filled with people begging for streams.

I just feel like sometimes we need to give some credit to where it's due. So shoutout to all those who make our community such a kickass place to be!

So after reformatting my computer, I find my desktop rather bland. I haven't been much into aesthetics and crap as I've always had a white background, but after browsing the Desktop Threads, some people's desktops are just totally kickass. Especially the docks at the top and bottom, and sidebars which are pretty cool.

So I come asking for a little help. What steps should I take to make my desktop look a little nicer? Wallpaper? Sidebars? Skins? Where to start/What do I really need/not need. Stuff of the sort.

Any suggestions/feedback would be greatly appreciated. Any program/skin recommendations?

Mirror Mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?
Warning: Massive Spoilers Ahead

60 minutes after the start of today's MSL Semis between Iris and Kwanro, both players would have answered the same: Byun Hyung Tae. After thoroughly demolishing the rodent zerg in the first two sets, Iris was firmly in command of the series. Kwanro looked relatively shaken up after losing game 2 in disappointing fashion.

Experience was on Iris' side as well. Having been to the biggest stage of em all at the Daum OSL Finals, Iris was no stranger to such a big stage. Our little Pikachu however, was just getting a taste of the big stage. 2-0'd by the so called CJ Team Killer. Coincidentally, Iris was also up 2-0 on GGPlay in the OSL Finals until he coincidentally got stomped by GGPlay's ridiculous swarm play. But let's not sidetrack ourselves here.

About 15 minutes into Game 3 on Outsider, Iris was pretty much in full command of the game, looking to basically clean up for an easy 3-0 sweep. With a sizable army, 4 bases, and a ton of vessels, Iris decides to just basically screw around, send his 10 vessels in nonchalantly and irradiate some OLs.

Then, the SVs went boom. A couple plagues and a couple muta shots later, Iris' SV count dwindled to about 2. 5-10 minutes later, he'd find himself getting attacked by 10+ ultras. 60 minutes later, he'd find himself going home once again defeated 3-2 after being up 2-0 in a Best of 5 series to a zerg. Kwanro swiftly annihilated our hero terran in games 4 and 5 and has graced us with yet ANOTHER ZvZ finals.

When you look back into Starleague History, you'll see that there haven't been many SLs without big name players. Most recently, you might consider Luxury/Jangbi to be one of the worst Starleagues, but nothing compares to this atrocity we got in the MSL. Calm vs Kwanro.

Now I know some immediately thought "Almost as bad as NATE OSL" (The NATE OSL was the OSL that Sync eventually won, but no one really cared cause every favorite got eliminated early on and South Korea also made a huge World Cup run during that time period). However, at least we got to see Sync play some TvZ in the Nate finals. Who doesn't like to see Sync play TvZ? Fireworks terran was fucking awesome.

Anyways, now effectively we have arguably the worst Starleague finals in store for us. A mirror matchup ZvZ between a decent player in Calm, and a quite mediocre player in Kwanro who got rather lucky on his way to the Finals. Having to play Zero in ZvZ in the quarters was just lucky as hell. But besides the point, I would have rather seen Calm play Backho. Backho sucks at PvZ, but damn I woulda much rather seen any other race player get to the finals.

Zerg vs Zerg sucks. It's a matchup that involves 5 units: The drone, overlord, mutalisk, scourge, and zergling. Games range from 5 minutes to 15 minutes long and involve small and big battles of mutalisks, scourges, and zerglings. Early game, everyone makes zerglings and they go attack each other. Mid game, everyone makes mutalisks/scourge and they attack each other. Late game, everyone has a ton of mutalisks and zerglings and they attack each other.

At least in TvT you get some varying game lengths with all different types of strategies. Just the other day we saw UpMagic nuke Light in one of the most intense TvTs I've ever seen before with some epic base swapping. Dropship play, vult play, mass tank play, BCs are basically all viable in TvT. PvP on the other hand is quite possibly the most variable mirror matchup. Fast DTs, 4 gate, 2 gate reaver, etc. are all viable builds and make for some nice battles with some good storms going off.

Zerg vs zerg though leaves us with mutas, lings, and scourge. EVERY SINGLE GAME. If Jaedong weren't playing in the OSL finals and instead say Zero made it instead, I seriously doubt anyone would wanna watch Zero/Yarnc ZvZ finals either. Seriously, ZvZ BO5s are terrible to watch. Now, we're graced with two of them, and I don't even know who to blame for this atrocity. MSL organizers are probably shooting themselves if they aren't already dead over this finals. Instead of what could have been Jaedong/Bisu, we get Calm/Kwanro.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall, who's the fairest of them all? While Kwanro laughs and smiles when he asks the mirror this question, the general viewing public is left to cry and weep. Oh, the possibilities. Iris/Calm woulda been good. Jaedong/Bisu too. But no, we're stuck with Kwanro/Calm.

Fuck me, ZvZ sucks, and I am NOT watching this MSL Finals. Who cares enough to watch ZvZ? Especially a final with Calm and Kwanro. I'll go watch Jaedong win that Golden Mouse of his, but I'll just forget that Avalon ever sponsored a MSL.

When I log into TL every day, I typically browse around first, see what went on the night before in tournaments, read translations of winners interviews, and then check around the rest of the site. However, there reaches a point where it gets kinda dull cause nothing new's out typically during the day.

So where do I go in order to entertain myself? The Automated Ban List. Nearing 200 pages of pure comedy. The staff comments on each ban are just hilarious. I'd like to quote LastRomantic's message to me when I got temp banned for bashing his beloved YellOw: "You do NOT fuck with KONG." Seeing stuff like that makes reading the ban list worthwhile.

However, most of the times we don't get to see which posts triggered a ban or which series of posts led to a ban. Which is something I'd like to see. It makes it 100x better if a link to a thread or a more detailed explanation is included with most bans. "Don't be a troll" or "Your posts suck" are great to read, but it's better when you can actually see what type of stupid things they've posted.

I'd like to thank LokiM for my blog material, as his ban came with a link to yet another pointless post of his. Doesn't it make your day seeing a complete moron get banned? One that you've seen around the forums and have wondered, "Why isn't this guy gone yet?" It's also nice seeing posters with locked or nuked icons. Makes you wanna search for more of his posts.

But to the point of this blog: I wanna see why each person got banned. "I have my reasons" is meh. Sharing is caring. =)

Good lord, getting your four wisdoms pulled hurts like a bitch especially when you're under anesthesia'd.

But on the bright side, I get vats of Vicodin. Ahh, painkillers are awesome. If I could only swallow them right now, I'd be feeling loads better.

In the meantime, any suggestions as to what I can do while I'm temporarily incapacitated? Looking for something relatively easy that doesn't require too much effort, like clicking with a mouse.

I really do think TL should have a technical forum for any questions people might have, but since there isn't I'm just gonna blog it.

After upgrading to Windows 7, I find myself unable to play fullscreen Starcraft on my laptop, which kinda annoys me for some reason. Anyone else have the same issue? SC just loads for me in a box in the middle with huge black borders all around and it's kinda annoying not to be able to play fullscreen.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's been a while since I've seen any TvZ series. With the general lack of zergs in leagues these days, it seems like there hasn't been a real great TvZ series in a while.

So off the top of your head, which TvZ BO5 series in the past were great?

Starcraft's always said that only one person allowed per CD Key on the same server.

However, I could have sworn that I was able to get multiple people on one CD Key at a time.

Recently though I tried logging in and got raped. Apparently BNet has gotten smart on CD Keys. Now I need to find new fucking CD Keys for my friends.
