At first it was a random blue screen n4_disp.dll, it let me play after a restart for a while but eventually i couldn't log in anymore, it displays a bunch of blocks and doesn't load. i can only load from safe mode (w/ networking). it starts in the POST, everything in the bios has some distortion in its display, and vertical and sometimes horizontal lines go across my screen when im in safe mode
things ive tried: with my latest video card drivers installed (8800GTX), i can only log into safe mode. with my drivers uninstalled, i can log into normal mode 1 out of 2 tries without crashing. I've tried old patches, omegadrivers, system restore, full factory restore(would have manually restored from CD but it didn't let me boot from CD) i clean re-installed the nvidia drivers multiple times and was using driver-sweeper, re-installing on vga mode) disconnected monitor and turned on to see test, works fine. cleaned all fans of dust, my case is open and temps are fine for everything, updated bios and mobo drivers,
i haven't been able to find a fix for this, and i dont expect to, but what really is the problem? mobo, vid card, some software, or what? I don't have a 2nd vid card to test with, and I want to know what to buy if I were to replace the part instead of actually fixing it

OFFER STILL GOIN!
I'm not really sure how it works, but I have a guest pass for this game that I can give to anyone, and since everyone I know has the game, I'll just give it to someone on TL. The first poster here will get mine. After being the first poster, pm me with your e-mail and I'll send it to you.
Also make sure you can run the game before taking it! (filling min. requirements etc.)
[edit] Expires 9/21/08, not sure if that means i can't send it anymore after that, or that's when your trial runs out, or both.

I just found out about this site, which is unfortunate, because I have used my main e-mail to sign up for a lot of shit over the years, and I receive approx. 500 spam e-mails a day. (G-Mail's spam filter is quite good luckily)
Basically, you click on the link on the site and it instantly gives you a username and an inbox. No signing up or anything. No password, just a ten minute e-mail address which expires after the time is up. If needed, you can click "I need 10 more minutes!" to make it last longer. Useful for registering wherever e-mail activation is required, without the risk.

Anyone else ever read this? I've finished it today and loved it, although I think some things needed to be explained a little further, but that's not that bad considering there were heaps to explain. It uniquely alternates between funny and grotesque, I wouldn't know what to categorize it as.
You can read it for free here: http://www.johndiesattheend.com/
A blurb from the back cover found in the About section:
+ Show Spoiler + It's a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human.
Suddenly a silent, otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs.
Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity?
No. No, they can't.
I liked the intensity of Dave but I loved the one-liner onslaught from John, he was hysterical.

The other day an old friend of mine called me and asked if I wanted to toss around a frisbee. He was my best friend through middle school and the first couple years of high school, but we just kind of went seperate ways. I thought it would be fun so why not. Basically, he couldn't be more of a douchebag. He talked about sex and womanizing the entire time, and threw the frisbee at a bunny we saw. He somehow turned into a dumb jock and I couldn't be more disgusted by him.
Anyone have any experiences with meeting up with childhood/friends from the past? Have they changed for better or for worse?
