So 2 days or so after my last blog we gained around 22more inches of snow(close to 4 feet total), and none of it has melted away yet as it's stayed a temperate average 0-5 degrees F. I went out and took some more pictures as last time - nothing special; albeit we have these wicked awesome icicles hanging from the roof of the house that are like 4 feet long. I kind of regret taking the little car and not my jeep cherokee up here; at least that has 4 wheel drive and won't get stuck in the snow even after clearing it all away -_-.
As I said last time, my parents live around 2 hours west of Redding, CA - halfway between Redding and Eureka; and are just below 6000ft elevation.
I'm up at my parent's house for the holidays and it finallllly snowed last night. It's a good thing I drove up here on saturday or my little car wouldn't have made it D:. It started snowing around 7am and I took these around 3-4pm today; we've got close to 20 inches on the ground right now, and it's still snowing. It's supposed to keep snowing, so I'll probably wake up tomorrow and have like 3-4 feet of snow. I'm in Northern California btw, my parents live about 2 hours west of Redding(which is where i live) in the middle of nowhere, literally. My public high school had 50 people in it .
This week is the last week that I work at my job since I will be moving at the beginning of the year; and since I knew the employers pretty well they really didn't care about my hairstyle, etc. However, since I'll be looking for a new job in the area I'm moving (gonna be so hard b/c of the holidays ), I'm thinking I should probably get a haircut; or at least trim it quite a bit:
shameless tl pride
What should I do with my hair tl? (note that it's usually pretty thick and wavy, just today it decided to be straighter than normal.)
So a little while ago there was a heated discussion in a thread i'm a regular of at the roosterteeth forums on whether or not giving yourself a blowjob is gay:
but here's the problem: there's no possible way to pretend that you're getting a blowjob from a woman if you're the one doing it, unless you close your eyes and pretend like your neck isn't hurting.
But even that will be offset when your balls touch your forehead.
Also, when you're giving your self a blowjob, that means a dong is in your mouth and your mouth is sucking a guy's dong. It's double gay.
man chowder in your food hole
If you could suck your own dick.
1). It would not automatically mean you are gay. It's your dong. You might never suck another man's dong. Sucking another man's dong instead of your own meant that you were trying to get him off. That would make you a "dong" lover. If you are sucking your own dick, you are trying to get YOURSELF off. That makes you a "you" lover. 2). There is nothing wrong with your own dong in your mouth. 3). If you would actually come in your own mouth...well, that's tricky. Doesn't mean you are gay because you may never once consider taking another guy's load. 4). Everybody should suck everybody off for my amusement and pay website. 5). Your Dong..in your mouth.
i just realized why sucking your own dick is gay.
it's not so much the dick in your mouth.
it's the jizz in your mouth.
So what do you say, tl?
Poll: gay to give yourself a bj? (Vote): yes (Vote): no (Vote): man chowder in your food hole
The frontman to my favorite power metal band, if not my favorite band of all time - Galneryus - announced his departure, and I just found out about it .
from the site(if someone can translate better that'd be nice): + Show Spoiler +
ファンの皆さまへ。 To Fans
この度、私YAMA-Bはライブツアー“BACK TO THE FLAG”終了と同時に、GALNERYUSを脱退することになりました。 I, YAMA-B decided to leave GALNERYUS with the live tour "BACK TO THE FLAG" ends simultaneously.
2001年にSyuとバンドを結成してから7年、2003年にメジャーデビューしてから5年、駆け足で活動して参りました。 After forming Syu and I the band in 2001, after measure debut in 2003, I have broken my balls.
その間ご存じの通り、バンドは著しく成長、変化していき、シーンにおいて確固たる地位を築くまでに至りました。 Meanwhile, you know that the band grew up remarkably and changed and hold a position in Japanese Heavy Metal scene.
しかし最高傑作と自負する五枚目のアルバム“REINCARNATION”を発表直後、今後のバンドの発展を考えるにあたり、 However, when I thought about development of a future of the band just after announcement 5th album "REINCARNATION",
音楽性の面において僕の考えとバンドの意向に少なからず違いがある事を感じ、正直にその事をバンドに伝えました。 I felt that my thought and intention of the band included a difference in musical approach. And I told the band my thing honestly.
結果として、僕はバンド脱退と言う道を選んだ訳ですが、 As a result, I decided to leave the band.
僕の選択を理解し、受け入れてくれたSyu、YUHKI、JUNICHI、YU-TO、そして久武プロデューサーには心から感謝します。 I thank Syu, YUHKI, JUNICHI, YU-TO and Mr. Hisatake who accepted and understood my choice heartily.
脱退について、ファンの皆さまには色々とご意見があると思います。 I think that all of fans have opinions in various about my leaving GALNERYUS.
しかし、両者の将来の発展のために、両者の合意の元に下した決断ですので、どうかご理解下さい。 But, please understand that we decided it for future development of both.
今までGALNERYUSのYAMA-Bを応援して下さいましたファンの皆さま、 Thank you for your support me, YAMA-B of GALNERYUS until now.
今回のツアーが、僕にとってGALNERYUS最後のライブツアーとなります。 This tour "BACK TO THE FLAG" is the last tour as GALNERYUS for me.
しかし、いつも通り力一杯歌いますので是非ご来場ください。 I sing according to usual hard, please come and joy.
ツアー終了後、僕はGALNERYUSとは別の道を歩んでいきますが、 After the tour end, I walk the road which is different from GALNERYUS,
皆さまへの感謝の気持をGALNERYUSとは別のステージで奏でる音楽と言う形で表現していきたいと思います。 I express a feeling of thanks to all in music to play at the stage which is not GALNERYUS.
そして同時に、僕をここまで育ててくれたGALNERYUSの発展を心から祈ってます。 And I pray for success of GALNERYUS which brought me up.
I've been a hugeeee fan of Galneryus ever since Yama and Syu started it up. I've been wanting to see them live for the longest time, but with Yama-B gone and the last tour with him exclusive to Japan I'm pretty about it. He is one of my favorite vocalists ever, and while I'm sure Galneryus will be able to find another quality singer; Yama is going to be impossible to replace.
Memory of you is in the cage I want to break it awayyyyy I can find the exit now The day to rescue you is so neee-aarrrrrr
Any fans of the machinima RedvsBlue out there? Do you love Starcraft too?(I'd assume so, since you're reading this on tl.net ) Well, the players from the most popular thread in the PC Gaming forum of Roosterteeth.com, the Starcraft thread, have put together a mini-starleague in attempts to garner more competition within the thread.
While we're not the greatest players of Starcraft(we have 1 C player who is also a smi and siz teammember, myself and another guy are around C-, and the rest are between F- and D. When I say F-, I mean we have some realllly horrible players :X.), we all really really enjoy playing Starcraft, and we ensure a good time. There will be prizes at the end of this season if there are enough players -
Again, I'd like to reiterate the point of this mini-league(which hopefully will continue on after the 1st season )is mostly to have a lot of fun, to revive the thread out of it's uncompetitive spirits. We're not looking to aim to become a huge league, or something recognizable in the foreign Starcraft scene; just to have fun, play starcraft, and reward this competitive spirit.
If any of you are interested, you can go here, (you must have/create an account on roosterteeth) for more information, official rules on the ladder, and sign up. We already have around 17 or so players signed up from this morning, and we welcome any and all players, whether or not you are a D- Protoss or an iccup bonjwa.
Here is the post I made on Roosterteeth that overlays the foundation for the league: + Show Spoiler +
I would like to present Season One of the Red vs Blue Starleague; the first ever Starleague to be put on and played through members of the Roosterteeth community forums! Taking influence from various ladders in the Starcraft scene[such as Teamliquids TSL], the RvBSL features a 3 week ladder stage into a semi-final, played on popular maps from iCCup and the Korean Starleagues. Using it's own cumulative point system similar to other ladders, players will attempt to ascend to the highest rank by gaining points for each win and loss; before finally getting to said semi-final tournament. There, 4 players will duke it out in 2 randomly selected 2v2 games, each bo5 games; until 2 finalists are achieved. Proceeding the semi-final will be a b07 grand final - rewarding the hardest working and most skilled Starcraft player in the Roosterteeth Community.
Ladder Rules -Games will be either played in battle.net via channel RvB (original, huh? ) or via hamachi. Hamachi info- + Show Spoiler +
name - RvBSL pass - rvb
-Each player must play with their race of choice from the beginning - no offrace matches are allowed. As well - each player must have the tag of RvB in their name - whether it be name[rvb], RvBname, rvb)name, etc. This helps differentiate players from their original names in replays when updating the League stats. --Each game must be played on one of the 10 maps found in [link=http://www.box.net/shared/ns0xnprbvo]this mappack[/link]. --Each player must keep hold and supply replays from every game at the end of the day. When you are supplying replays - either post a link of the replay pack in this thread or message them to me. An autoreplay plugin helps, the best in being chaos launcher - which you can download [link=http://winner.cspsx.de/Starcraft/Tool/Chaoslauncher.zip]here[/link]. This is so I can keep track of stats at the end of each day, update them, and check for hacks if suspicious. Also, this is a more reliable source than looking at a players battle.net stats.[for the most part] --It does not matter if games are played over hamachi, battle.net, or chaos launcher - that is to be determined between players. However, lag issues will not be acceptable. If someone lags incredibly during a game, and it causes the other player to quit - the lagging player will be fined 10 points. If a player lags out/drops from a game, that will be a fine of 15 points. It is your responsibility to have latency issues in check. --Pauses are allowed, however you must ask before you pause. If a player declines and you still leave/you take longer than 10 minutes/you drop from pause - you will forfeit the game and points will be rewarded normally. However, declining a pause for something trivial may be considered BM, so be prepared to defend your reasons why unpausing. --You must complete at least 20 games to qualify in the final. However, this is only a minimum. If you only play 20, and then halt in playing games until the final - you will not be included in qualifications, and the next active person will be picked. The reason for this is to promote participation and fair play within the ladder. **Each player starts out at 0 points, and you must gain points by playing games. It does not matter if you win or lose, you will always gain points. However - points for wins and losses are not equal. Wins will garner you 20 points, while losses will only give you 10. At the end of the ladder, each person's rank will be based off of the ratio of points to win/lose percentage. Once the final rankings are given - the top 4 players will advance into the semi-finals.
The Semi-Finals --Once the 4 top ranked players are selected, they will be randomized into 2 2v2 rounds, each round being a best out of 5(bo5). Each game will be played on a randomized map out of the map pool, disregarding players concerns for maps. The maps of preference will be played in the first two matches, a coin-toss will determine which goes first. There will be 2 officials watching the game in observer slots among the players, to watch for bug abuses/forfeits/hacks/etc. The winners of those rounds will advance into the finals while the losers descend into the losers bracket. --Lag-outs/drops/etc will not be ruled against in the semi-finals - the match will either be played again or postponed until latency issues are resolved.
The Finals --The winners of the semi-finals will advance to the finals in an attempt to declare victor of the 1st season of the RvBSL. The Finals will consist of a best of 7(bo7) round. Each player will pick 1 map of their preference, with the rest of the matches played on randomized maps from the map pool. The maps of preference will be played in the first two matches, a coin-toss will determine which goes first. There will be 2 officials watching the game in observer slots among the players, to watch for bug abuses/forfeits/hacks/etc. The winner and loser will respectively take 1st and 2nd place with no BM or complaints. *The same rules apply for the finals as the semi-finals for latency issues.
The Ladder Stage starts at 00:01 PST, Friday August 29th!! Any Red vs Blue games will count between then and 23:59 PST, Sunday September 21st!!
Good games, good luck, and have fun!
Even if you don't feel like participating, and you have some advice on changing rules, etc - go ahead and feel free to inform me. I'm just trying to create a fun atmosphere for us RvB'ers to play in.
-edit- oh dammit, the image looks wack because I made it to blend to the backgrounds of RT. Balls.
Also, I should probably say that this ladder isn't being played over it's own gateway because there would be no point in creating one for 20 people , so I'm doing it this way for now.
-edit2- I should also probably mention that I'm blood_moor on the Rvb threads I posted.
[Warning - Longggggg] This is part 1 of a 3-part series of journals - it's about the breakup of my band near the pinnacle of our career. I wasn't intending on posting it here, but since I haven't really contributed much to my blog I thought I might as well. So here it is, I just copy/pasted from my journal on roosterteeth.
[ Part 1 ] Reach for the sky.
My Second Chance. In retrospect, these three words became all that I knew and all that I was going to know for the next three years from when I first heard them. Who knew this simple phrase would be a deciding factor in my life; greatly creating some of the most cherished, heartfelt, stressful and enjoyable times in my life. Blood, tears, other cliche words that describe the trials and hardships we went through - they cannot begin to describe the emotion that is/has been carried by these three words. However, before we delve into anything too deep here, let's take a step back and glance over the finale of the greatest part of my life so far.
Spirit West Coast: Monterey - the pinnacle in the essence that had been My Second Chance. For those of you that do not know - SWC is a major christian music festival that is put on every year in two places - Del Mar and Monterey; Monterey usually being the bigger one as it's more centralized to everyone that attends than Del Mar[and in my opinion has better artists and a better layout =/]. The specialy thing with My Second Chance is that we had broke the mold of SWC holding on major label artists on the big stages and had - 4 years ago - become the only unsigned and independent act to appear at Spirit West Coast. As the years went by - My Second Chance had become a crowd favorite [as stated by SWC founder Jon Robberson], and had been invited back every year; eventually being upgraded to the 2nd main stage - the Air1 Radio stage - sharing the stage with such acts as Family Force 5, Project 86, The Myriad, Red, Haste the Day, As I Lay Dying, Kutless, and many, many others. With MSC's act drawing to a close - this Spirit West Coast: Monterey '08 held something different than the previous years. Here I present you SWC: Monterey '08, MSC style:
11:30 AM, we had been walking around the festival for a while - handing out MSC postcards as we had thousands to give away, getting "hey guys it's my second chance!" comments, and the like. It was already starting to get warm out - which is good, considering last year it was overcast during our show. After meandering around the park aimlessly we came to the Air1 Stage - infamous for hosting bands such as Red and As I Lay Dying in previous years, we were ready to take it on for a 3rd time. A quick flash of the credentials, some quick hugs and talks with John from The Myriad [who I still play poker with whenever I'm in Redding with my brother] and Zach from Dizmas, and a short walk. The greenroom - haven to those escaping the heat and the crowds; otherwise known as the area with the most comfortable beds in the world.
A quick picture with the merch grandparents in front of the greenroom, before soundcheck.
"My Second Chance? My Second Chance? Ah yes, it's time for you guys to soundcheck. Let's go." Considering we're one of those bands that is always misinformed on load-in times [i.e. 9:30 am instead of 11:00 am], we had already setup for the show and just needed to flick the power. Also considering that we had already loaded in, we spent most of the time away from the stage; so we were completely taken aback when we saw the crowd JUST for the soundcheck.
Holy freaking crap.
Now we've had big crowds before, but this was literally as big as we had last year; and this was only our soundcheck. As you could tell, even during our soundcheck we moved around a little and got the crowd going; considering some of them told us they had been waiting since 8 that morning to get in front to see us. :X After sound check, we got off the stage in awe and shock as to what we had drawn this day. What we just witnessed was a bigger crowd than Red, The Myriad, and Dizmas had during their set - except for our soundcheck.
See us? No way..
Anticipation. Anxiousness. That feeling came back - the-butterflies-in-the-stomach-before-a-show feeling - something I had not felt in a long long time. I was ready for it, I was ready for the show; this was going to be something special. This was going to be a good show, it was going to be a VERY good show indeed. 12:30 PM came all too slowly, it was time. "..and we would like to present to you a very special band - one we've cherished in our hearts for a long while. These guys are incredibly huge in Ecuador, and are a GIGANTIC crowd favorite here in Spirit West Coast. Let's give a humongous welcome to My..Second...Chance!"
Not only did we break our own personal record for biggest crowd, we broke the record for the biggest crowd for an unsigned band on the Air1 stage [ coming close to Haste the Day's 4000 people in Del Mar '05]. From what I gathered from various stage managers - we had brought in around 3200 people to see our show on the Air1 stage this year. Wowwwwww. That's all I have to say..wow.
We melt faces through catchy choruses and finger-snapping techno-breakdowns.
Sometimes we like to appease those little hardcore kiddies
All hail the fish of My Second Chance.
Especially sal the Salmon. Fear him.
Part 2 will come later in the week. Until then..
-Jon-
-[edit]-
I'm the guy in the blue shirt and ridiculous cut-offs. And if I came off conceited in this blog, I didn't mean to; I was just writing what I was feeling the day after the show .
Hrm. My first blog on tl.net; I must say I'm not entirely too sure as to what I should be blogging about. I guess a little background won't hurt, eh? I've lurked on tl for quite a little while now - I'd say since around the mid of 06' or so. This was around the time I started to get back into the SC progaming scene, as I had been on a hiatus from SC since around 04'ish - life and responsibilities began to take over more or less.
Around this time - I began to reimmerse myself into playing SC a little more seriously, but I didn't really know where to start. Luckily for me - I had just joined the community site for Roosterteeth productions, and found the Starcraft thread there. It's funny to me because for the first 6 months or so I never really improved much in my SC playing - I only really knew basic build orders and the such before I rejoined, and it carried on through the beginning stages of my "training"; so to speak. Only in this last year and a half or so have I began to make real headway with my skills of mouse and keyboard - my timings have become impeccable and my game sense has improved incredibly I don't even believe it.
To make a long story short - I met some of my best friends and best practice partners in that thread - I'm still amazed as to how such an amazing game such as SC can bring together people like it did. Some of the people from the smi team might know one of my friends who goes by the alias tonight - smi.tonight, siz)tonight, etc. [lately i've been playing a lot of games with him in hopes of becoming a serious contender in upcoming sc event ]. Bleh, I rambled.
Well, going back through what I wrote - it wasn't much of a backstory..or very much of a story at all. Sorry for boring you to tears ;__;
I guess all I really have left to say is BBQ TOSS FIGHTING, MONDI REMATCH GOGOOGOGOGOG!
-boes
[edit] shitsux - apparently I'm going to, more than likely, evacuate in the morning as there are around 12 fires in a 80 mile radius around my home. guess that's what I get for living in a forest in northern california, eh?
