darn questions about politics
thoraxe, Sep 05 2008
So my teacher gave me this take-out exam about some questions about the elections and politics, and stupid google just can't seem to find the answers(must be my weak googling skills). I was wondering if you knew the response to these, dont' worry, they aren't TOO hard.
1)What is the reason behind choosing the two cities in which the national political conventions took place?
2) Identify the three most important items of business that are conducted at these national meetings (on both sides).
3)what was the rationale of barack and mcCain to choose the vice-residential candidates they chose.
4)Identify three ideas or proposals (planks) in the platforms of the democrats andthe Republicans.
seems to me that 3 & 4 are kind of similar, but I don't know what the teacher means by "planks in the platforms".
EDIT: I'll get #2, shouldn't be too hard should it, i mean, its they're main points, i'm bound to find a link that will help me.
EDIT2: thank ya'll that I didn't post all 20 questions, all I need are #2 and #4.

We are Stardust
thoraxe, Sep 03 2008
So my English Lit. teacher gave us this phrase "We are stardust" and were supposed to do a one page report by tommorow. There really is no wrong answer, and this is supposed to spurr up my imagination.
So far I got: 1) Being superior to others cuz your not regular dust. 2) Relating to the movie "Stardust" 3) That when you die, you are a star, and what you leave behind, instead of ashes(which is kind of like dust) you leave "stardust"
What does your imagination say?
edit: changed big S to s.

Sweeney Thought
thoraxe, Jul 22 2008
Well, it's not a thought, it's more of a question:
When Anthony is talking with Turnip (or is it Turpin?), they say something about practices, what exactly do they mean by that? "Would you say that you are practice, boy?" wtf does that mean?

Joker's plans
thoraxe, Jul 21 2008
1) I know he said something that people with plans aren't cool and that its better to just act, or something like that (someone plz sum it up better than me?). But didn't he end up having a masterful plan of his at the end? What's up with that, was it something that the writers couldn't avoid?
2) Why does the Joker say different reasons for his scars?
3) Didn't the guy that played Scarecrow in Batman Begins make a cameo in The Dark Knight? Wasn't he the very same impersonator that was wearing the Scarecrow's mask?
*on a side note* from imdb trivia section: To prepare for his role as the Joker, Heath Ledger lived alone in a hotel room for a month, formulating the character's psychology, posture and voice (the last one he found most difficult to do). He started a diary, in which he wrote the Joker's thoughts and feelings to guide himself during his performance. He was also given Alan Moore's comic "Batman: The Killing Joke" and "Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth" to read.

edit: I just realized that I typed infringement wrong, hehe.

easy trigonometric problem
thoraxe, May 26 2008
--PROBLEM SOLVED--
using the sum and difference identity find the exact value of tan195° and tan345°? For the second one, I know the answer is -2+√3 (its in the book), but i can't derive to it, all i get is a 0
in case anyone forgot, its this identity:
--the following is for the second problem-- is this the right way to undergo this problem? or do i have to make tan45 into a tan(-45)? Could you show me the steps on how to work out this problem?

edit: made things clearer. edit2:I thought TL would get it in like 10 min, max. Guess i underestimated the intelligence of TL.

Germaphobe or Germaphobic
thoraxe, May 17 2008
How do you say it, Germaphobe or Germaphobic(even if those are spelled correctly). I was just recapping The Big Bang Theory episodes, and appearntly they've already aired 7 since my last time I saw them, but thats aside the point.
How do you say it, I always thought it was germaphobic, since the fear of something always ends in phobic or phobia, but then I hear this new term. Any response will gladly be apprecaited, unless its a trolling one that is.
edit: Is it correct to say "He's a germaphobe" and "He's germaphobic"
