So im putting more bands that I like here and polluting your webspace with my inane writing, deal with it it!

1. Dark Lunacy

Dark Lunacy is a band from Italy, they were formed in 1997 and play a mix of gothic metal and melodic death metal, when i first heard their songs serenity, through the non time and hear of leningrad i was impressed, they sure know how to merge melodies, harsh vocals and emotions in their song, a very nice band and i recommend anyone who likes Novembre, Raintime, or Italian metal in general to take a gander at this band, you wont be sorry.

2. Daylight Dies
[image loading]

now as you might have guessed by now i like Doom metal and Melodic death metal, and thats exactly what this American quintet is all about, great acoustic passages, harsh vocals, and a incredible atmosphere on all their albums is what drew me in, I got their demo "The Lone Forgotten" first and upon hearing it was thinking i had found another band similar to old school Swedish death bands like Dismember, but when I got No Reply and Dismantling Devotion I saw that they mixed more doom into their music and it was a great add, songs like "Everything that belongs" and "In The Silence" represent some of the best this genre has to offer, once again if you like Swallow The Sun, Draconian, Opeth, Saturnus or bands in the same vein, get this, its awesome !

3. Draconian
[image loading]

Now Draconian is probably my favorite band of the whole melodic doom genre, might be because they were the first one I listened too, but they posses great quality and songs like "Death Come Near Me" and "Morphine Cloud" will leave you asking for more, since im not reviewing there bands but just recommending them to people with similar taste as me, I wont write much about their music, they were formed in Sweden in 1994 and I think you have all gotten what they play by now ^^. If you havent checked them out by now and like the bands i listed earlier be sure to do.

Listen Here :

Ok thats about it for this blog post, I hope i have given at least 1 person a new band to listen too.
And il put my LastFm profile here so if anyone is interested in any of the bands I listen to PM and il help you as much as I can

So the other day I was rummaging around yaoyuan for replays to watch while I was bored and i ran into this rep pack of various korean amateurs (at least i think they are amateurs) and it featured some pretty nice games, but the biggest part of the pack were replays of ever)t(hwan, now I never heard of him before but he is very very good, particularly his TvZ, I learned tones from watching him play so I would like to share this pack, check it out they are all awesome games.

I'm bored so I decided to blog a bit about the only thing i like more than wasting time with BW, music, or to be precise metal music. I have listened to countless bands and I always enjoy discovering new ones, here I will list some of my more recent discoveries and why they kick so much ass, they might not all be new bands, but they are new to me.

1.System Shock
[image loading]

These guys were formed in 2003 in Sweden and play melodic death metal, now since melodic death metal has quite a few meaning these days it might not mean much to some people, but what they play is not the standard American/Gothenburg variety of MDM. Its a nice blend of fast riffs and melodies with a guitar sound I don't hear too often, the vocalist does his job quite good although he doesn't really stand out from the crowd of similar singers. Their debut album - Arctic Inside - was a very enjoyable listen for me, especially the song - DevilWish -.

for those interested they can take a gander here
http://www.myspace.com/systemshockband

2.Noumena
[image loading]

Here we have another melodic death band that has caught my ear with their album - Anatomy Of Life -, they were formed in 1998 and are based in Finland. I usually have reservations about Finish MDM bands since after the success of Children of Bodom a lot of bands are copying their style and passing it of as MDM, but there are also exceptions like Noumena. The Finish sound is recognizable in their music but not to much, and they play quite nice melodies with a solid rythm background and throw in female vocals here and there, usually the qualm i have with Finish MDM is that they have weak guitar sound and rather sharp lead guitars compared to Swedish MDM, but Noumena is quite up my alley. From their album Anatomy of Life i recommend the songs - Retrospection - and - Misanthropolis -

take a listen here

3. Novembre
[image loading]

Now here we have a band that has forced its way into my heart since the moment i heard their first tunes, i have gotten all of their albums and enjoy them a lot. They play gothic/doom metal but with a lot of various influences in between, the band was formed in 1993 in Italy. Its hard to describe their music, in some ways its similar to Opeth with clean vocals and very nicely done acoustic passages, but they can also break out the growls and fast paced rythms and melodies, its just something you have to hear, and love <3.
I love all their albums so its hard to pick a few personal favorites among the songs, but if i had to I would pick - Verne, The promise (Arcadia cover) and Valentine. Check them out if you like Opeth and similar bands (even though judging them on the base of genre does not do them justice)

Take a listen here:

There we have it folks, my first blog entry, If there is any response I will make more, in fact I will probably make more since I have to practice my English before the state finals . Technical data on the bands was taken mostly from Metal archives.

EDIT : in related news it turns out I dont know how to handle links since they all end up at the bottom of the page one after the other, so I put the rest of the links down here.
