[H] Sleep experiment

Not really an experiment, but I'm trying to measure the length of time between me entering bed, and me falling asleep.

The problem: How do I keep track of the moment I fall asleep? I don't want to have somebody stay up and record the time when i fall asleep.

I was thinking, have a stopwatch tick quietly every 10 minutes. The next morning, if I can only recall 2-3 ticks, that means I pro...

Do you believe people can change?

"leopard can't change it's spots, but it can hide them."

Above quote reflects my belief. I think at some point in a person's life, his personality becomes fixed. For me, as a kid I was really loud, wild, cocky, inconsiderate. (By kid I mean age 7-13)
I'm 20 now and I've really mellowed out. People first meeting me say I'm nice and polite. And it's true. But it's not really me...

The big fuss over World Cup

Not trying to be a troll or anything, but I'm always confused as to the fuss over the worldcup.
My dad: Never watches soccer or speaks of it, but suddenly when Worldcup is on, he starts watching it religiously.
My friend: Hates soccer, finds it boring, yet checks in constantly to the scores.

(Choose primary reason)

John Wooden's Pyramid of Success

Please don't misinterpret this. I love John Wooden. I love his coaching. He's amazing. I love his pyramid of success.

But as I read it, is it really a pyramid?

http://www.coachwooden.com/index2.html

A pyramid would imply that each ascending block is derived from below. Looking at it, I do not see how bottom blocks build up to the top. A few of them make sense, but in general, it ...

For example, usually during a career workshop people are dressing up. I'm about to volunteer @ a hospital, and I'm not sure if I should dress up considering it's just a orientation. However, they do state that have to sign up for interview so I'm not sure..

Questions about car:

While the car is running, does putting it into "parking" vs "Driving" save gas?
After the engine is started, does turning on heater use gas? (I know AC uses gas, but can't heat just come naturally from the engine?)
If I'm stuck in traffic for periods of 5-10 min, should I let the car idle, or turn the engine off, and restart engine once traffic flow...

These days, every girl I meet is set to the standard of past crushes. "Prettier? Smarter? Funner? Cooler? etc" And most of t...

Why is it bad to leave the power adapter connected to the labtop when labtop is @ 100% power. Same thing with phones and charging mp3 players/electronic devices.

So is the most efficient way to use electronic devices to charge them to full power and then only recharge when they are close to dying?

All of us have close friends/relatives. All of us have done something to alienate them at one point or another.

This creates tension / what I like to call "The Awkward Vibe."

I find this phenomally interesting because it's like a 6th sense. On a normal day, if no words are uttered between friend A and B, everything is normal. However, if A did something to antagonize B, then ...

I think College Expenses can pretty much be broken up into these 3 categories. This question is directed to non-dorming students who live away from home since if you dorm, these expenses are usually integrated together. Also Tuition varies from school to school so I'm more interested in knowing how much you pay for Housing/Food per month as well as the quality of your food/housing.
