Build a File Server or Buy an External?

Right now I've filled up my 1 TB hard drive to the brim, and I was wondering whether I should build a file sever with three 2 TB drives in raid 5, or just buy an external drive. I can afford both, but my major dilemma is that I will be going to college in a year so my file server would simply sit a home with my desktop collecting dust for a least freshman year. What would you do?

Ideas for an Old Laptop

So I have an older laptop (3 or 4 years old now) laying around and I was wondering if there would be something cool I could do with it. Right now it dual boots Ubuntu and Windows XP and I has a Intel Dual Core at 2.0 GHz with an 80 GB hard drive. It also has an old nvidia graphics card built into it so that its slightly better than on board graphics. Any ideas?

Great PS2 Games

It's finally summer break and I'm trying to get back into videogames but its been so hot outside that playing on my desktop hasn't really been an option. What are some of the best games to play on the PS2 (and I suppose PS1 as long as they've aged well)? The games I've played so far are:

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX
Final Fantasy Tactics

Disgaea: Hour of Darkne...

I'm a high school junior and I've been feeling burnt out for the past three or four month but now its really starting to hit a peak where I just don't care any more. The past couple months I have barely tried in school, and even my AP classes are pretty easy. The only class I study for is Calc but that is just twenty minutes before an exam. I spent January through March studying for the SAT, a...

For Those of You Who Played God of War Collection

So for anyone that has played God of War collection for ps3, is it worth buying a ps3 and playing that version if you are only going to be playing on a 22" TV? My HDTV is only 22", and Im struggling over whether to get a ps3 and play the collection, or to just get component cables and get the ps2 versions of the games.

PS3 or Xbox 360

So I remember a while ago the 360 used to the the definitive console and that was the console everyone was suggested to get. Now, has that changed in that the ps3 is superior to the 360, or is it even now? Im trying to decide which console to get. I'm mostly into RPGs and Action Adventure games on consoles, and use my PC to play any shooters Im interested in.

Please don't turn this into a co...

Best Way to Play PS2 on Monitor?

I have a decent monitor and a crappy TV, so what is the best way to hook my ps2 and other game consoles up to my monitor? I know I have the options of a converter box from component to VGA or some sort of capture card on my PC. Will both methods yield the same results?

So instead of complaining about how I dont have a beta key, I've decided to try to beat some of the videogames I have lying around. I've been using a cool site called backloggery.com which was designed for the exact purpose of keeping track of your videogames. I started a page about last year but I didn't really use it, but I've been using it for the past couple of weeks.

So, as one of my new years resolutions I am going to start taking my Spanish studies seriously. For me, learning vocab and grammar is really easy, its just that listening and speaking is the difficult part. So, I'm looking for some forms of Spanish media to listen to while I am doing other things, such as riding my bus or doing my math homework. Also, if anyone has any interesting sites in Span...

So I've started playing Starcraft on iCCup again because I'm on winter break, and I can't believe how much I have missed playing Starcraft. Right now I'm trying to remember my build orders, but I realized that I never really had a build order for PvZ because I hate FE. I was looking at Day[9]'s podcasts are remembered he talked about a Reaver dragoon push. I want to learn it, but I find it hard...

iCCup Blog: I Improved My PvZ!

So probably a month or so ago I started practicing PvZ on iCCup and it was the only matchup I played. While my other matchups (PvP and PvT) were both had solid D ranks, my PvZ was definitely D-. Once in a while I would win a couple games and get back to D, only to be shot down once again to D-. Out of frustration I stopped practicing the matchup and even started dodging it while I spent time tr...

So as of now I have played roughly 400 games on iCCup (cant wait in the next few months to play 1000 games so I can finally fulfill the advice that alot of people give out :P) To be honest I am probably a solid D+ player right now, but I'm having this mental block where I am do not think I am ready to start playing D+ players. I can fairly easily reach D+ within 15 to 20 games on iCCup but once...

After thinking about it alot more I am actually starting to think it might be viable. To get my thoughts straight I wrote out a bunch of stuff on a piece of paper.

Objective: The objective of this build is to deal massive damage t...
