I started playing iccup to improve. There will be 2 LANs in April, the Hungarian Infinity LAN and the Czech Rymarov Spring. ....and my goal is to win these! (this is probably impossible but I don't care)
From now on, I start mass gaming, and I'll try improve my terran tremendolously. I will update my blog regularly with my improvements/standings. Honestly, till now I never practiced hard to get anywhere at BW.. I wonder how much a guy like me can improve under about 3 months.
About my skills: -about 150-170 APM ----> i wanna raise this without too much spamming, goal is 250-300 range with 35-40% hotkey
-TvP : I am struggling -TvZ : I have holes in my game, but I am not that bad till later stages of the game -TvT : I have no idea about this
I play BW/watch progames for 5 years, so I think I have quite good strategical understanding of the game- from outside. Being inside the match, and doing the decisions from there is much harder for me.
My nick on iccup is ezterran. Feel free to add me, if you are interested in practicing OR if you would be nice enough to mentor me a bit.
Probably I will flood the strategy forum asking for help with replays, just like this blog.
PS. Thanks Naruto for the replays and help (he's a nice guy, you know)
Great series. Though I don't really like its graphics (I usually do watch more "realistic" looking animes, if this makes any sense), I just couldn't stop watching it all the way until it was over.
I heard about this anime in the naruto thread of TL, and after I watched the first episode, I had mixed feelings about it. It seemed that it had every bullshit what you can find in any anime/manga (magic, mechs fighting, failed stupid references to European culture, masterminds playing each other.. etc.), but the story was exciting from the start.
The real rollercoaster started from the second episode. Basically after that, you just shit your pants in the end of all the parts (including the last one! ). The turning points are often better than the ones in Death Note.
It is "only" 50 episodes, each 20 minutes long, so not too extensive. Definitely it was worth watching, even if you hate mech fighting as I do.
I have a Korean friend. We usually communicate through MSN (his English is not too good but we can understand each other). Sometimes we play starcraft. Last time we played was about 4-5 month ago. He was stomping me, kinda. He had crazy good macro and apm , he played terran. I had to do very risky builds to win. Whatever. Today he asked me to play games with chaos launcher, because of the lag latency. The launcher said in the beginning: automining detected.. And later on, multicommand detected. When I said him these stuff, he came up with the explanation: he just clicked on my units, he has observers.. :\ After the games, I checked the replays, 300 apm with no hotkeys. Suspicious to say at least.
So.. 10 months after the previous blog entry.. Jesus I am not a good blogger.
What happened in this 10 month.. I "forgot" my previous gf completely.. thx God. It was hard because she was in my group, so we had the same classes and courses in the university.. I had to see her a lot more than I wanted to. I could pass every exam .. This is better then expected. Basically I am in the upper 20% of the students who can finish university in 5 years. In the summer, I had a job for 1 month in Poland. Check out THIS thread. I co-worked with mym.raven.. fuck yeah! Though we didn't play starcraft even once. I got a lot of new friend though. I love you Kara! (she was the Czech tester, she is cute and very kind).
and about Iccup.. I haven't played BW actively for 1 year maybe. I got bored, I didn't have motivation.. etc. But still I decided to change to Terran from Protoss (but still I play Protoss against Terran). This was many month ago. But I was stuck on Europe gateway, playing public games against other gamers. Lower level than life. So I decided to raise the level of my terran play. I started playing iccup today. Terran is hard. So much stuff to do, even in the early game. Take off peons from gas.. Care about the building scv.. You moved too close your first tank to the wall, it died, you lost the match.. etc. I made this new account "ezterran" (easy to rape), and I will play only tvp for a while. Can you give me good resources? I found the guide of DaZe a bit (?) outdated. I check Merz's blog and Iccup rep pack. I also downloaded the reppacks of Idra, Merz, Brat_ok and a2 from the razer tsl qualifier stage. If you know about anything else which could be a good help for me, please let me know about it.
Hi all, I was surprised, 15 comments to the first post.
My name is Imi, I am 18 years old. I live in Budapest, Hungary. I am an university student, I study informatic engineering. I have a pretty big family..
I like reading books, playing squash/tennis, listening to music.. I got addict at one point with computer games (BW, and others, no MMO though), so I try to not play.
I have no girlfriend at the moment, and I don't think I need one. The last one left me for an other guy, and as I look back I guess I trusted her blindly. I need to declare the meaning of sexuality for myself before I go into another relationship.
I feel I still am far what I want to be. I am lazy as hell, have a lot of bad attributes.. I heard that one's personality gets complete about at the early twenties. I don't know if it is true.. I don't have much time to become a "good" man which is my goal in life.
Later I will post pictures about me and my environment. Thanks for reading
HI everyone who reads this. I've never written blog before, cause I have a rather antisocial, and reserved personality. SO this is the beginning of something.
