proA.Thuoclao or The Greedy Champion - WCG Vietnam
  proA.June91, Aug 09 2008

Oops. He did it once again in WCG Vietnam national final :D

Winning first place twice and second place once out of 3 consecutive World Cyber Games National Qualification rounds in Vietnam, it's none other than Le Thanh Ha aka proA.Thuoclao. He has just defended his champion title at World Cyber Games VN 2008 in Starcraft:Broodwar.

Although proA.Thuoclao had the advantage to skip the preliminary round, there were only a few people who believed that he could win the champion title again in this year. At this time, all the attention was drawn to his teammate, proA.NextTime. However, by advancing to the final without losing a single match, proA.Thuoclao has proved otherwise. After all, he is still a very scary opponent to play against. Let’s share the joy with him in an interview from ESVN:

Congratulation for successfully defending the champion title, what are you feeling right now?
- My feeling? It’s simple: I feel Awesome!

Out of three consecutive WCG’s, you have taken first place two times and second place one time. What is your secret?
- As opposed to what people might believe, I couldn’t devote much time in training like other gamers. However, I tried to put my concentration to the right moment in the right place. My goal is to aim for effectiveness in training method.

From now on, The greedy champion is the nickname that many gamers use to address you. What do you think about it?
- Part of the reasons why I could manage to finish the goal that I take is due to my greediness. Maybe in order to be champion, one has to be greedy. I’m starting to like this nickname! (*laugh*)

The greedy champion - proA.Thuoclao

You defeated your teammate proA.NextTime 2-0 in the 3rd round of the Winner Bracket, what was that like?
- It was an uneasy feeling having to face my own teammate. But World Cyber Games is a big tournament and you have to give it your best once you are in. So in that match, I put aside my emotion, played seriously and won the match.

You didn’t have to play against your number one rivalry, Q9)AutumnWind, in the entire tournament.
- Q9)AutumnWind is a strong player. By not having to face him in the tournament, I’m not sure if that means I’m lucky or I’ve missed a chance to test out myself. Hopefully in the next tournament, which might be ELS Autumn, we could face each other in the final round and hopefully I’ll ... win again? (*laugh*)

In the match against Dream.SCVN, although leading by 1 game, you lost the first BO3. What was your thought at that moment?
- My head was empty after losing the first BO3, but after the match one of my teammates came over and told me not to think as if I have to win but instead just concentrate on giving a good match, I managed to pull myself together. With the support of my team I know I couldn’t lose. Also, in the next BO3 against him, I thought about my parents, about all the best things that could keep me calm and then I just concentrated on the monitor.

Do your parents know about the result? What do they think?
- After Dream.SCVN typed out GG, the first thing in my mind was to call my parents; both of them were surprised to know that I had won. Before I left, they didn’t think that I could win the champion title again because they knew how much time I had for training. From the sound of my mothers?voice I can feel that she’s very proud of me and that makes me happy.

What’s your thought on how WCG is organized this year?
- Aside from only playing BO1 in the Loser Bracket, I’m very happy about the tournament.

proA.Thuoclao and his first "SC Teacher" - proA.Prohand (the first one in Vietnam could reach A Rank in PGT ladder Server)

What’s your goal in the Grand final in Cologne, Germany this November?
- There is an old saying "noi truoc buoc khong qua" (meaning: if you say things you will get in advance, they won’t happen). I can only say that I will try my best.

This is the last question, do you want to thank anyone?
- I want to thank my teammates who were always by my side supporting, encouraging and cheering for me. I also want to thank my parents who gave me the opportunity to be here on this day. Thank you to Samsung, who has brought us the World Cyber Games, an awesome tournament for StarCraft players and in general, for all eSports gamers in Vietnam. Thank you all for everything.

the whole army of proA(rmy) in Ho Chi Minh City
btw, I was the girl holding the trophy in the picture. And besides Thuoclao's winning matches, we also got 2nd place in CS and 3rd place in SC (proA.NextTime)

Thank proA.Thuoclao for the interview and again congratulation for your champion title in StarCraft at WCG VN 08. Hope that, you will perform well in Cologne in November this year and bring back something to Vietnam. Best wishes to your health and successfulness in life.

HELP ME OUT OF HERE T____T
  proA.June91, Jul 22 2008

Hi everybody!

It's me, your little Junnie with her entry as usual around the things happened in her life in Vietnam.

Oh god, today, I got many bad things behind to let me be the dynamite. Aw...It's hard to believe what I'll tell you now, I think so but it's the right time to express what I've been keeping these days..-___-v. Shall we start?

Ok. thanks!

Firstly, there's a big problem not only to Vietnam but also to me myself. The cost of fuel in Vietnam has reached new peak in history: 19.300 ~ 1.16 usd/litre. Hey, don't be surprised. It might be the cheapest thing ever for you in your place but that will be the BIG BIG BIG...or no...the TITANIC, HUGE ... (or whichever adjective you can find) problem for Vietnamese people.

As compared to the price at the beginning of this year, the cost per each crude oil can (which noun?) reported to increase 35%. And having no factories to purify the crude fuel throughout our territory, we have to import all of the prepared products from oil from western countries.

My family is an average family in Vietnam. In the past, my parents sometimes gave me about 20 - 30 USD per month (~ 300.000 -> 500.000 VND = Big money for 17 - year - old girl) and fed me well with 3 nice meals per day.what should i do to help them when the price is continously rasing while their income remains unchanged?

That's the problem for my family which is considered to be a well - to - do family but how's about the others in Vietnam? In some families, both wife and husband cannot earn more than 300 USD per month while they have 2 daughters and each month, that 2 daughters take from them ~ 100 USD? 200 USD left for 4 mouths in a month? And bills?

Vietnam is a poor country where 80% of its population live by agriculture. And now, if we have any natural disasters, it's likely that the crop will fail. With this current price for rice and food, it's kinda hard for us, the normal white - collar workers to support our life so how could we give the victims in a natural disaster our hands to help? When your leg is broken, you could only think of yourself, that's simple.

Everything is mess in here, totally!

The second thing I wanna tell you....aw...it's about my own problem in senior student. I've got a NEW SCHEDULE!!! I have to be at class from morning to early (?) noon, from mid noon to early in afternoon (?). And sometimes, after all of these things, I still cannot go home because there are still some classes around 7 PM.

I asked my form teacher if i had good grades in coming examination (I'm not really stupid) and she allowed me to be absent from class and she said "no". What the heck? I never give a shit (care) about how I do something; I just do it and get it done.

Man, I'm not a patient girl. I cannot sit hours after hours to learn by heart something I have no interest in at all. I cannot do it and I feel my school....just like....just like....A JAIL.

"Being absent from class for 3 days? I'm sorry that you have to move to some other school. Cannot stand for this pressure? Ask me and I'll show you how" (she stressed "how")

Aw....How could I pass this damn thing? There're still 11 months to go (including university entrance exam)....Aw....your little Junnie will be killed...Help me T___T

WCG Vietnam 2008 Hanoi's Final has come to an end
  proA.June91, Jul 16 2008

“Sir, yes Sir!” answers proA.NextTime

Right after ESVN had posted a funny picture in which the leader of proArmy StarCraft team, Luu Vu Ha Trung—proA.SirTY, asked “Are you ready?”, his member, proaA.NextTime articulately answered “Sir, yes Sir!” with his first place in the WCG Vietnam StarCraft Final of Hanoi.

Asked Sirty, answered Nexttime

The two gamers who competed in the last set of matches, one of whom was a “veteran,” (proA.SirTY) the other was a “rookie,” (proA.NextTime) were both from proA, and both used Terran.

Although Terran vs. Terran matchups are often regarded as “boring,” Terran vs. Terran matches between two “gosu” (Korean word for pla<x>yers with high skill) are not. And those matches were worthy to be the final. Both pla<x>yers demonstrated outstanding micro/macro skills. However, there could only be one winner; and after three intense matches, proA.NextTime, the currently best-ranked pla<x>yer, the winner of two consecutive ESL Tournaments proved to have the upper-hand. And let us all share the joy of a champion by the following interview.

How do you feel right now when once again you have defeated your leader, proA.SirTY, in such an important event?
All I can say is “Wonderful!” I have surpassed the one who one year ago, beating him even though in just one game could only be in my imagination. People said “The pla<x>yer who has potential can only do his best in the right environment;” I couldn’t agree more. From the time I entered proA, the leader as well as other members has been helping me a lot. Even though I have deafeted my own team mates, I feel that if I hadn’t got into proA, my place right now would have belonged to someone else. I’d like to dedicate this victory to all of them. Thank you proA, my friends; thank you SirTY, my leader.

“The lucky gamer who just only shows up at the right time,” what do you think of that nick name that many people gave you?
I don’t care much about what people say about me. “Showing up at the right time?” then maybe my idol, Boxer, has just been being lucky. If it had not been Boxer but another person, maybe we would never call him “The Legendary Boxer.” I think they might be right at some points too. [laugh]

proA.Nexttime - the champion of WCG 2008 - Hanoi

In your next trip to the South, which pla<x>yer do you feel the most hard to face?
He is Q9)AutumnWind. Although Zerg vs. Terran has never been his favourite, he always has an “irritating” way of playing. I think AutumnWind is a very strong opponent for anyone who’s aiming for the championship.

Which means your goal is to be the best StarCraft pla<x>yer of Vietnam in this event?
Certainly, I think every serious pla<x>yer aims for this too.

Have your parents known about this yet?
Of course, I phoned my parents right after I had won.

From left to right: proA.Nexttime - i don't know - proA.SirTY - Dream.SCVN

So they must be proud of their son. Before the final, did you have any support from your parents or family members?
Sure. They’re really proud. I can feel the happiness of my mother through her voice on the phone. However, before that, I didn’t get any cheers. My parents just told me “Lose quick to go to class, will you?” What an ironic. [laugh]

Thank you for your interview. We hope in the national final, you will keep dedicating great matches for the audience. We wish you well and successful. Thank you.

Two day with great moments of intensity, surprise, and happiness have passed by. And the WCG Vietnam 2008, StarCraft Final of Hanoi has successfully ended, leaving the audience with a pleasant experience that they could not easily forget. The WCG is without doubt the most important event for every seriously pla<x>yers of eSport.

Well, finally, 3 gamers who will fly to Ho Chi Minh City soon to attend the national final are: proA.Nexttime (1st), proA.SirTY (2nd), Dream.SCVN (3rd).

If nothing's wrong, I'll fly with them to Ho Chi Minh so stay stun for my update about WCG Vietnam 2008 in StarCraft: Broodwar section.

Thanks for your reading

Vietnam World Cyber Games is coming really near :D
  proA.June91, Jul 12 2008

Hi hi hi everyone :D
How are you guys these days? Oh, you do not know how much I miss you after a long time with out blogging T__T. I've been quite busy recently with my first tourney, my work, my summer schooling (I don't have vacation at all) so I didn't have much time for tell you guys about what's happening in Vietnam eSport community. But today, I'm so excited to shout that: Vietnam World Cyber Games, the 8th WCG for Vietnamese eSport lovers is coming really near.

This time, we have:
+ SC: 4th time
+ DotA: 2nd time
+ Fifa: from the beginning of WCG in Vietnam
+ CS: the FIRST TIME EVER!!!!! (Gratz, CS :D)

Oh my god, I cannot wait for it and fortunately, this time, I'm the live updater of WCG, not mentioned to my work about SC stuff in WCG for esport.vn. Hmmm, the leader of referee team also asked me if I could take charge of content section for wcg.vn but I didn't answer. hehe. I think if they give me the bonus, I'll do it ;P. Main thing is still for esport.vn, my lovely firm, right? hehehe.

Ok, so let's take a look in our arena for tomorrow matches

-------------------------------- Day 1 for preparation --------------------------------------

Section for observing :D

The "boundary" between section for spectators and the main arena

Main Arena

The whole view

All of the LAN cables, the necessary wires were carefully taken care of

Seats for Gamers covered with white "blanket" ;P (I don't know how it called in English)

The stage

The view from behind

World Cyber Games, here we go

-------------------------------- Day 2 for preparation --------------------------------------

All of preparation work are hurriedly finished for tomorrow matches

HP was so generous that they sponsored Vietnam WCG with their HP Pavillon product

Look at them. They look cute, don't they?

Monitor boxes were moved to the main arena for settings

Samsung 42 - inch - TV to serve the spectators (We got 4 that kind of TV, totally)

Hey hey hey! Don't worry if you think that TV is still soooo tiny. We did have 2 projectors next to the stage for some interesting matches. :D

Wow, here are lots of pictures to tell us about the preparation for Vietnam WCG so I don't think we need more. Of course tomorrow, I'll take other photos of the day matches' atmosphere so stay tune for "learning" about our eSport culture. If anyone of you guys in here is in Vietnam now, Hanoi capital to be exact, don't be shy to visit us at "the Arena of Back Khoa University - 42 Ta Quang Buu Street".

I gotta leave early in morning tomorrow so I'm afraid that I cannot write any longer. So bye bye. GG GL HF

Love
- Junnie -

p/s: Sorry for my bad English T.T and if nothing wrong, I'll fly to Ho Chi Minh city to attend the nation final in here to cheer my boys (taking part in all of 4 games above) so wish us luck, wish us could take pass in hanoi local final :D

STFU! Junnie gets mad!
  proA.June91, May 24 2008

Hello everyone!

Today, your little Junnie hasn't met the mister named "Good Mood" so please, do not try to provoke me! I can kill the whole elephant right now, I swear. Thank you!

(Caution!)

Hmm...Having been back from the school, I was rather furious when I knew that I had failed in Physics. Call me as "Miss Arrogant" if you want because the story I'll tell you now can give you that feelings.

I used to be excellent student when I was at the secondary school. I studied all of subjects very well and that was why I could play eSport at that time. Ok, but my hard-working sense quickly left me when the lack of sleep came to see me more often. I spent the whole day for eSports and sleeping....everyday, I said. However, my results were still good but excellent, everything was still fine except Physics. And finally, I finished my 10th grade with bad Physics' result, really bad. (9th grade = last grade in secondary school. I started finding out my new friend: Lazy lady and with going along with her, I attended high school = 10th grade).

Oh please....please don't be so impatient, I haven't tell you the point of my story yet so please calm and sit down....hmmm......Ok..that's better. Thanks

Well, as the point I mentioned to you in the first paragraph of my entry today, I'm "miss arrogant". I was so arrogant that I did nothing to improve my Physics background but started to hate it, very much. I even spent more time sleeping during Physics lessons or listening from my Mp3....etc...(I'm bad girl T___T)...and...that stuff kept making friends with me for the whole 11th grade (I've just completed my 11th grade period since today)....That's why I failed...so sad and so angry with myself for being so stupid and arrogant....

aww............I'll get the U.E.E (University entrance exam) next year and this exam is really important in everyone's mind in Vietnam. So do I and then, I guess I'd better be more interested in learning such a thing (I mean Physics) to get through the final exams T__T...huhuhu.....Junnie, you're baddddddddddddddddddd.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, sorry guys, my schooling story today isn't the main part from me. I've got a bigger fury by another thing which related to eSport thus...another thing is coming. lol...i'm in bad mood so forgive me if you feel that I'm too talkative or... you have the option to leave my page now. It's ok and up to you.

eSport Magazine. Have I ever mentioned it in my blog? Hmm....Guess that I haven't done such a thing.. Ah ha...ok. let me introduce this tv program for you in summary. eSport Magazine is one of the TV programs which includes in "eSport topic" on Arirang - Korean Global TV. During the time of this show, you'll have chance to enjoy Korean eSport scene, especially "News chaser" part. And today, we got sAviOr and FBH as the new rival to each other.

"Euuuu...It could be interesting" - told Junnie to herself.

*Music*
*Editor's voice to lead the story from the beginning*

And here is what made me angry.
FBH: sAviOr had beaten me 3 times and I had won over him 6 times so I guess he cannot make it anymore
.....
FBH: You can eat when you're hungry and now, I'm thirsty for victory so I chose sAviOr because he cannot win
....etc....I cannot remember it all because I was surprised with I had seen before on the screen at that time...

Junnie: STFU, noob.

Sometimes, eSport needs some clowns to be more fun, I think so and everyone will be at one with me, I'm sure but showing your bad manner or your overrated huge self-confidence will be unwise especially when you're considered to be as "pro". I've never ever heard Bisu telling everyone something like "I love facing with sAviOr in the final because he cannot make it through" or sAviOr talking that sh** even when they (Bisu, sAviOr) were dominating on their path of career.

Hello? Who the hell are you, FBH? Please do not make such stupid thing like that, pleaseeeeee....Or please get some champion titles and then, you can have a chance to insult everyone with your f**king mind in your head or if you could do it (achieve a title), your stupid sentences would be heavier. Look at your achievement and then, please take a look into sAviOr's one....hahaha. That is really ridiculous to make a comparison in here. lol...I think you had been trained as the professional clown in some circus before you started your gaming career. Hadn't you?

Although Boxer hasn't proved much nowadays in pro gaming scene, answer me why is he still in favor of many StarCraft fans throughout the world? Oh it's kinda easy, right? Because he's shown his respects to all of those who were, are and will be his opponent but FBH's dancing or bad manner. And that's why we call him as the "pro", that's why he's the hero in eSport scene.

And I've got some words for our Maestro, too.

Dear Mr. Ma Jae Yoon!

I think now it's the time for you to wake up from your dream. You must have been dreaming too much and then, you act as you're alive but you don't. Your weak performance in Starleague and Proleague just made your fan be more and more disappointed and I'm dying with your boring gameplay. Or if you feel no longer interested in getting another champion title, you still can keep your position in top 5 KeSPA ranking every months by winning your matches. Show us who used to be the King on his mountain but the normal soldier. You don't want to reach the top again but my dear, everyone loves seeing you sitting in the second or third post, you shouldn't go back with your fans' feeling. And today, right now, I feel rather tired so I'll leave my "tiny letter" for you alone. Hopefully, it can make something as miracle...or not...I know why.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
lol...I made a long post and I felt better after writing these stuff...hehe...it was good medicine for someone who has hot temper like me, guess so. And now, all that I can is send my best regard to the readers who paid their attention for my "not very good" entry today. I didn't mean to use bad words in public like this but yeah, I was angry so what? It'll be accepted...hehehe

Ok...Time up. I'd better wave goodbye. Byebye everyone. GG GL HF

Love
- Junnie -

Happy belated birthday d(^^!)b
  proA.June91, May 17 2008

Hi guys!

Little June is here, right here after a long time no see. How are you these days? Everything is ok? For me, I'm still fine and today...(I'm glad to tell you that) is my day, the day when it first came and has been giving me much more energy, passion and love to make a strong step into eSport scene.

As you can see in my ID, it's proAJune91. Yes, I'm June but it's not the point which must be shown at this time. I mean, now, you'd better notice at "proA" word...

Hmmm... proA is the initial of our multigaming, proArmy. Established in 2006 by 4 young boys with the steel hearts inside. In order to show the world Vietnamese gamers' talent, we all came together as the big family due to the same heart beat and purpose. In the earlier days of ours, we met many difficulties such as training conditions, personal skills, the lack of leader's experiences.....etc but now, I'm so proud of that name, whenever, wherever.

Each of us is the soldier who will fight for the honor and passion for life. And that's why we called it "army". However, that army of these soldiers is not made for fun, trained by noobs but striving all days long with full of energy. This is "pro".

From the beginning of 5 eSport games as well as StarCraft, WarCraft, Fifa, Counter Strike and Pro Evolution Soccer: Winning Eleven (PES), proA's just expanded itselft recently, going along with the trend which is prevailing throughout the world: DotA (EGT Event) (besides new game is Special Force: Dragon Fly - the best MMOFPS game in Korea 2007). Although we're the first and the most successful multigaming in Vietnam now, there's a truth that we've to admit: We're still nothing to the world.

But it's not the bar which can stop us from eSport. After many great efforts of the whole gaming days after days (1.5 years to be exact) in many Vietnamese eSport leagues, finally, we've got our sponsor from the largest company of developing software and providing internet services, not mentioned to its huge number of cellphones galleries in Vietnam, or some remarkable MMO games such as MU Online, Special Force: Dragon Fly.....Behold....FPT Telecom. [ Sounds great, doesn't it? d(^^!)b ]

So well, in our second birthday (24/04/08), we celebrated our offline birthday party, took some photos to memorize and announced the sponsorship officially to all members. Here is the details:

proArmy Gaming

I <3 proArmy

proArmy <3 you :X

Our young Counter Strike team and the boy with the helmet is the leader.. lol ;P ( EGT Event )

Not the whole proArmy (some members got extra classes so they couldn't attend) but still big, right? ^^!

And so much more that I will post later...Sorry for my poor photoshop skill . Well, It's enough for today, I think. Byebye! GG GL HF!

Love
Junnie

p/s: Happy belated birthday, proA ;P

EGT Event 2008
  proA.June91, Mar 19 2008

I wrote this entry some days ago and forgot posting here. If you think mine today is empty, feel free to leave your comment below and I'll try better and better to bring more interesting. Thanks
--------------------------------------------------------------------
- First, let me tell you that I've been working for eSport.vn (VEN.,jsc - Vietnam Entertainment Network) and EGT is the first on - LAN event in our timeline for eSport Vietnam in 2008. And this tournament, we celebrated 3 games which are considered to be the most attractive eSport games in Vietnam, such as: DotA, CS and PES (Winning Eleven - Pro Evolution Soccer 8).

- EGT was held in this weekend and the result....hmmm, if I can say, that made me satisfied. For the first time, yes, it was highlight of our gaming, proArmy Gaming's achievement, our DotA team won the first prize. If I'm not wrong, in the past races, we always finished at the 2nd or may be... got lost in quarter finals, semi finals so today, when the enemies forced to type "GG"... all of proArmy members stood up, made a big applause and showed their happiest faces that you'd never want to miss.

- Our DotA team's leader, proA.Songnhi said after our win: "Haha, perfect. This is exactly what we want to. That the way we are".
--------------------------------------------------------------------
- Switch to CS, it also brought to all of the spectators an interesting final match. But before that, our incredible win against one of the good choices for the championship, ViF (VieForce) in the winner bracket for the advance to final, we must be proud of what we've done. At that time, ViF with the good form was leading about 9 - 6 but after changing to CT, we played with so much more flying fingers and skills.

Going to the final, being as the most successful multi-gaming in Vietnam, we have to be the last standings, we've to be the best. Facing with Respawn, the brand new young team having solid style, skillful players, we met some troubles. But it was just in the beginning. After some "warm - up" rounds, when we could catch the temper and the beat of the final game, proA.gm (team's name) had shown who were the best. Versatile tactics, flying gamers and good leader were the key gave proA the championship, finally.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
- Having gained the both highest titles in one event, I think that was not so bad, right? proArmy Gaming, one gaming, one thing can raise their hands in the air and say it loud: "We are the champion. Go home and see you next time".

However, we still know that EGT will be nothing if we overrate ourself for a long time. We know that we still got a long way to go in the front, especially when the match is on against "1st Gaming" in Ho Chi Minh City but with the flaming passion, with the best and unstoppable striving, some days, we'll be the best, we'll be the "fear". Some days in future, the world will see the proArmy.

Love
June
