GSL Double Dactyls

I recently found out about the double dactyl, a form of silly poetry that seemed like a fun challenge to write. The rules are
1) the first line is "repetitive nonsense"
2)The subject is in the next line
3)At least one line must be only one word, all this within
4) a rigid, dactyl-based metrical pattern.

I decided to try to write one for each GSL champion. Obviously I had to...

March Mascot Madness 2012

Rules:
1)The better mascot or school nickname wins
2)Ties will be broken by Google Image Search results
3)If a better team than you (or just one that I wrote about earlier) has the same mascot, it usually means instant disqualification
4)I have a heavy ACC bias. Deal with it.
5)Duke Sucks

We have a pretty typical set of mascots competing this year. The obvious standouts are the proven ...

GSL Oct Code S Group Selection Ceremony

I wrote up this recap on the GSL Code S Group selection ceremony, but it didn't really have a place anywhere, so I decided to stick it here!
(Warning: wall of text)
------

The Code S group nominations are always fun, because the viewers get to catch a fairly honest glimpse of the players' personalities outside of a competitive setting. Some joke and tease, other swagger, and some seem to t...

GSL July Highlights (Text)

Again this season I tried to keep track of highlights. I tried to format them a little better this time. So now they have a link to the VOD, a timestamp, a short description, and a tag. I hate the words WIN, FAIL, and EPIC, but they are short and descriptive so I reluctantly used them. I also used exclamation marks before the timestamp to signify relative awesomeness. Enjoy!

GSL July Quarterfinals - Day 1
Today's matches are widely predicted to be very one-sided. We have two of the best mirror match players facing off against two of worst. MC and Nestea are 38-8 in their respective match-ups, while HongUn and Coca have exactly zero wins out of eleven tries. HongUn is 0-5 against MC; Nestea and Coca have never played each other before, although Coca is 0-2 against ...

NSHoSeo_Tassadar :P: v ZeNEXPuzzle :P:

The Protoss race did quite poorly in the first three seasons of Code A. They never had a player in the finals, and had a mere %20.8 win rate against the dominant terran race. Last season alone, protoss players won only %20 of all their matches, and didn't send a single one of their ranks past the RO16. This tournament started off looking like it would ...

GSTL Recap: SlayerS v MVP

SlayerS v MVP
The first match of the first true GSL team league is a rematch of last season's finals. The two teams' rising stars are both coming off big tournament wins. MMA recently rolled through MLG Columbus, and DongRaeGu had an exciting win to finish out the LG Cinema 3D League. In fact, Gu's match overshadowed even the GSL finals in terms of excitement, a finals in which MMA got 4-0 sto...

I thought it would be waste to not share them with someone who might make better use of them, so here they are.
Match 1- SlayerS_MMA :T: v SlayerS_Ryung :T:
The first two SlayerS players to reach the Top8 of a GSL must now fight it out, ensuring at least one semifinalist from Boxer's team. His fate may be decided by whether he feels invigorated by his success or worn out from an exha...

Match 25: LiquidJinro :T: vs ZeNEXLine :Z:
Jinro has almost hit bottom on his recent slide from success. Ever since his first amazing run deep in the third GSL open, his results have been RO4, RO16, RO16, RO32, and demotion to code A. Hopefully the format that first propelled him to stardom will be the format that reinvigorates his GSL career. He is in somewhat of a TvZ slump, having gone 1-6 ...

Although TvT is statistically Clide's best match-up, he hasn't won a BOx against a Terran since the very first GSL open. He has lost two consecutive BO3's to relative unknowns Sound and Tankboy since. In fact, this will be Clide's first BO3 against a solid terran opponent. TvT is Rainbow's worst matchup.
