On April Fool's Day this year, Adult Swim unexpectedly played the ENTIRE movie in place of their normal lineup once midnight hit. xD In fact, I could be mistaken, but they may have even looped it twice. From Wikipedia: The Room was aired in its entirety on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block as its annual April Fool's Day joke on April 1, 2009 at midnight, followed by the "Tommy" episode of Awesome Show; other programming ran as scheduled. As usual for its April Fools Joke, Adult Swim gave TV Guide the wrong information. Adult Swim rated The Room TV-14-DLSV, and scenes not appropriate for basic cable were edited out or partially or entirely covered with black boxes. At random times, the phrase "Do not duplicate this copyrighted material" appeared at the bottom of the screen, and the bumps, which appear before and after the commercial breaks, either advertised the R-rated DVD or asked "What are you fools watching?" The day following the broadcast, the movie placed as high as #28 on the Amazon.com DVD best-seller list, as well as moving to #1 among independent films on the site.

The best parts are towards the end. The scene where a random character who has never been introduced in any way and is never named goes on a long tirade about how Lisa is RIPPING THEIR GROUP OF FRIENDS APART (thanks for the information random guy!). At one point Lisa also says she is pregnant - we find out pretty quickly that it was just a clever lie she told Johnny to continue manipulating him. Then several scenes later they argue about who the father of the baby is in earnest. Out of nowhere, suddenly in one scene the male characters are all wearing tuxedos, and they go to play "football" (they throw a ball back and forth in an ally) with them on. One character hurts himself, then the scene ends and the reason they were wearing them is never explained. When Mark finds out Lisa planned a surprise party for his birthday, his reaction is "you invited all my friends! Good thinking!" Truly innovative dialogue from an engaging and complicated character. In one of the opening scenes it is revealed that Lisa's mother has cancer ("I got the results back. I definitely have breast cancer"). She responds with "don't worry about it" and continues whining about her life. Her mother's cancer is never mentioned again in any way through the movie. Lisa's problems are apparently much more important. Early on we are also introduced to two characters who have a few lines through the movie. Before the viewer learns who they are, they walk into (presumably) Lisa and Mark's apartment, out of nowhere, and start having sex on their couch. Lisa and Mark are no where to be seen, so it is up to us to figure out why they got in and who these two characters even are in the beginning.

oh this one is really good too. Its so similar to how I relate to my friends while in coffee shops. I recommend watching it with Mike Nelson's commentary. The sample they have up isn't very funny but the movie is much better with it.

Without any studio support, Wiseau spent over $6 million on production and marketing for the film. - WikipiediaApparently, Wiseau played the main character and also directed, wrote, produced the film. He's also credited as an executive-producer... This shit is fantastic.

Wiseau promotes the film as a black comedy and insists that its humor is actually intentional, although cast members have publicly disputed these claims You know what? I'm choosing to believe this.

He refuses to tell people what country he is from, or why he has so much money. He has had a billboard up in LA for the movie for the last 6 years, and has taken to showing up at some of the midnight showings that theaters in the area do (I think its mentioned in the wiki). He still shows up to trade shows and has a booth to promote his movie, there are a lot of funny pictures from comiccon this year with him.

The original actor who played Peter got pissed and quit halfway through shooting the movie, so instead of reshooting his scenes, getting a lookalike to play him, or even just getting someone to play the same role, they cast some other dude, who looks nothing like him, to play a completely different character, but recite Peter's lines. Supposedly the director told the guy playing the "new" Peter “Peter left. Now you are like Peter, but you are Steven.” Honestly, I think the story in the making of this movie is just as hilarious as the movie itself.
