Cool man, congratulations. The real world is a cruel mistress so don't jump in too quickly.
|
so sad to see all the old timers growing up and headiing into the real world already, best of luck.
|
Damn Congrats man. I'm actually in the same boat as you... but not really that close to graduating... Like you, I'm not stupid or anything just lazy and uninterested, but came to realize it's pretty important to get that degree. Again, Congrats.
|
Did you start college right after high school? If so, you're not that late. Congrats though, it must feel great finally graduating.

gl man
Just, dont screw up

If I went to korea it wouldn't be for a courage, but it would provide lots of stuff you'd probably find equally funny
Thanks for the kind words guys.

Good shit. Word of warning though, don't be down when you have trouble finding a job. Not a dig at your credentials, but you're prob aware of the state the job market is in.

Watch out for those Bulgarians, they don't fuck around.

nah yeah I hear you loud and clear. The nice thing is I have some good insider stuff for teaching (alumni at a private school that loves me and wants to hire me) as well as opportunities to go into the gaming market through WCG, Progaming or something of those sorts.
The way I look at it: I will test the gaming market after college because it is far more appropriate to chase a dream then as oppose to waiting until I am established in my career to have a mid-life crisis and attempt something far less likely to happen at that age.
But yes, the overall economy at the moment is trash and I do understand that the expectations people had 10 years ago of post-college work is a bit different these days.

Good luck man. I wish I had some skills in gaming, to bad I suck at any game even the ones I love to play T_T ..... Manager maybe (anyone?)
|
goodluck! I have always enjoyed reading your posts, and watching your games. You're gonna destroy bulgaria!!
|
aim for the dreams first broski. in the event you cant lock up a job right away (likely, there's a huge surplus of teachers now) consider grad school
|
A teaching job would actually be perfect for you I think, and allow ample free time to travel/play BW, at least for another few years. Good luck with that.

Soooo true. I've been out of college for a year and a half and it has been rough at times searching for a suitable job. I have also been considering just jumping off to Korea to teach. It would surely be an experience but I'm not sure how rewarding since I'm not exactly looking to become a teacher. Still, better to graduate than not! Good luck in the future Inc
|
goto korea, teach english, play bw. gl man!

man inc, im really happy for you
i've been studying for a long time now myself and i can only imagine the joy of signing up to the last 2 classes, so i really know where you're coming from

I always love the titles of your threads, ha ha.
Gl hf man!

Congrats! It will feel great to get this weight off your shoulders. And if it makes you feel any better, it took 6 years for my sister to NOT graduate from college (she did end up getting a very good job though, but she doesn't value it at all and doesn't realize how fucking lucky she is) +5 for thread title.

When all is said and done it is going to take me 5 years to get an ASSOCIATES DEGREE. (I do want to mention this isnt exactly true, as I got a side associates already and HAVE also been working towards a transfer degree at the same time... so in the end will have 3).
And yes, there are people who fly in there first try and get a bomb ass degree in 4 or less years, but meh, I feel pretty amazing even just getting a 2 year.
I plan to go onto a 4 year degree after anyways, but what you have, and even what I'm getting, is more than most people.
Plus, OREGON = BEST
|
Whatever, 4 years is way too short for the best part of your life to be anyway. University is awesome, especially when you don't take it too seriously. I just applied to hit up another 4 years.

|
Hey what ever happened to you and that hot chick from the show that lost doing the guitar hero?
|
^^ iirc their whole 'omg they are into eachother' thing was more clever editing than anything, and they were just friends.
|
Grats incontrol. Also, oregon slackers ftw.. hoping to get my B.S. from OIT in around a year, which will make 5 and a half years total.
|
|
How did you manage to stay in college for 6 years? are you the Houdini of gettin' in and out of probation?
