i don't want to comment on the dolls as you've put it in the OP already hehe. i'm just wondering if you have cute stuff toys there so you could use them instead of the dolls. or may be barbie? lol
nevertheless, great job as always

The focus in the first doll pic creates a really awesome picture.

I only have shoulder cats and I don't collect things as cheap as Barbie dolls (although some of them can be really expensive if they're limited editions.) The Pullips are only worth about $100 each, but my dollfies back home are worth around $700 ^^;

Hello kitty on the cover!
Don't like some of the doll foto's that much, focused part devided the picture sometimes in halves, and you end up with half focused, half fuzzy. Think this only works if focused part is around the middle somewhere and you have blend all around. (dno the right terms but hope it's clear, might be just my taste)

I don't agree tbh - it's an effect called bokeh and only using it in the center of a photo makes the set repetitive and boring. Also most of the focused items were the faces - obviously I'm not going to blur those out in a portrait shot o.O; Anyway, I guess you're entitled to your opinion even if it is really unclear to me what you're trying to say.
Also checking back on the set 90% of the photos have the focused area in the center anyway so I really don't know what you're saying - there are only 2 shots with the focus off-center and they're not divided by halves. It was an experiment so experimenting with development techniques and depth of focus was the idea not making 'crowd-pleasing' photos.

I don't just spend my time photographing progamers. I need to practice using other things as well. Especially when I'm too sick to go to events. Reactions like yours aren't exactly helpful.

Dang! For a moment i thought u gonna post some SNSD pictures (for GTR that is), especially when the title mentioned DELICIOUS TREATS..

I've already photographed those ladies twice. I'd enjoy the chance to take more photos of them, but as I mentioned a couple of blogs back I'm still too ill to do a major event such as a concert.

Mmmh.. Pie... The eyes of the second doll looks frighteningly alive in this picture:
+ Show Spoiler + Or is it just me? O.o I really want to see some of your more serious works at some point in time!

Those dolls....Are pretty freaky. Wouldnt be bizzare if you walked in one day and the doll looks like its staring at you with its massive eyes....With a evil content. Whoaaaaa.

i think your recent posts are a good addition to the blog section actually. they aren't what we're used to but that's one of the reasons it is good; gives a little bit more variety to things. my only complaint or suggestion is maybe putting the photos in a spoiler tag so you have the option of expanding them manually so that each time you open up blog you don't have to scroll all the way down through them, a bit of a chore to be frank. first time through is good though ^.^. i found your whipple videos interesting also, it was pretty refreshing to see snowy korea.

All the best to your recovery.
I'm kinda curious about more of these effects that you use (in reference to bokeh), and perhaps some of the techniques you're using without us even noticing them... like angles and lighting. What are you aiming for when your taking some of these pictures of inanimates... or do you even have a goal?

Those dolls are creeeeeeeepy haha
The first few pictures of the cake/pie things is color explosion. It'd be nice to have a simple background and a close-up of those. Either that or maybe everything else blurred a lot more?

And the sweets in the first pics look good too!
Man, I was hoping this would be some really delicious-looking chocolate cake with mango/raspberry sauce on a bed of almonds, in a setup that looked to good to even disturb, let alone eat.
Edit: Blah, what a place to get my 500th :>

Yo Never, I honestly cannot understand the reactions you get from having other alternate interests. Like people giving you shit in the other thread for liking girly stuff (you are a girl, what is the problem? I dont get it). Seems to be a lot of painful ignorance going around. What are you supposed to like then? What kind of hobbies are you supposed to have? That aside, I guess it's just how guys handle girls on the internet. They're either overly endearing or caustically negative.
P.S. I'd still eat those plastic things.

Probably one of the most true statements I have ever read on the internet. Nice photos...(obviously the dolls are kind of creepy, but you do a good job minimizing that). I like the cute poses you put on them . Also, the food looks deliciously plasticy. I'm hungry now :[. Anywho, good photos...I hope you feel better soon! It must really suck not being able to truly do what you are passionate about.

Thanks I'm getting better, but I'm still dealing with my usual nausea issues. I've always wanted a Blythe, but never really had decent access to shopping for the ones I liked. I prefer Pullips, but some of the Blythe clothing is so cute.

~_~ I was kind of going for a color explosion. I tried photographing them on plainer note-paper and the photos just looked like 'pie plonked on paper.' I really needed some more textured items to put in the background like I did using the sprinkles in my sewing photos, but I didn't have any to hand sadly. I love making these little 'sets'

I'm fine with it usually, but most of the people on TL know that I'm too sick to go out and do my normal work for the site. I couldn't even get out of bed for Christmas Day or New Years Day and I nearly collapsed going to the immigration office due to a migraine (and the snow, but that's just me being clumsy!) I'm trying to contribute in my own way and it is saddening when people react negatively to it. I'm happy to receive comments, but after that troll trying to psychoanalyse me last time I posted I'm far less motivated to go back to PL. (Plus in this weather it's impossible due to the snow/danger to my camera.) I'll be going back for OSL finals and we will see after that.

Mentioning that the dolls are creepy is a negative comment? Of course we all have our different perspectives and believe us it wasnt to troll or upset anyone.
edit: No, not trying to start a flame war here. :/

Yes it is a negative comment - I've heard people call them that before so many times that it's boring and annoying to me. I don't need to hear people stating the same old, dull opinion of them. I'd rather hear something more positive and cheerful than an insult to one of my possessions. It's the same as someone posting a computer they'd built themselves and me saying 'it looks cheap and tacky.' I wouldn't do that so I'd like people to respect that I requested people didn't go on about their 'creepiness.' Unfortunately some people apparently can't take a hint or read notes.
On a side note the doughnuts I whippled are now dry I'll post some photos tonight if I feel well enough to take any. I also bought the cupcake set last night, but only really purchased it for the mini cupcake pendants/keychains because the big cupcakes are kind of fugly ;_;
I bought this set;
Big cupcakes are so UGLY. I wish they'd made them in the same way as the mini ones.
I want these two sets:
I'm sad they don't have any more or the pink whipple cream, but also grateful I could find them at all. I'm going to buy some extra funnels of whipple cream (why does that sound so dirty?) and use them in the future for other projects.

Those treats look so tasty! The dolls are really cute and I like your shots. Never knew that effect is called bokeh. I recently got into photography and I'm still an amateur and I just love looking at your works and other TL members' works to learn more about photography. Keep up the good works NeverGG and get well soon!
