So guys Its been a year since I began this mission and I thought id just share the story with this fantastic community.
A year tomorrow was the day I got my Gym membership from my mother for Christmas. I was obese i was weighting in at 365 pounds at that time and about 6'3. My friends Micheal and Josh(ProdiG) almost tended to mock me because I was so fat but at the same time were trying to encourage me to lose it.
Right after new years I started going to the gym. I felt horrible about the way I looked and the other men in the gym were like professional body builders and some of them actually were. The gym I was going to was World Class Gym in Lloydminster,SK, It was a small gym but the people are very nice and supportive, always willing to give a guy or gal a hand.
I spent about 4 months there with my Mother, who was always bring me to the gym to help me out and support me. I would linger around in the gym and do various muscle exercises I wasn't sure if i was doing them right or wrong or if it would help me but as long as I was doing something Id feel better. I spent those months messing around but i was going 3 times a week doing no more then 20mins of cardio a day.
once summer hit, I got the idea to maybe get the man who owned the gym to give me some personal trainer, Tho the price was steep going for $400 a month for 3/week 1 hour sessions. My mom noticed that I was very serious and believed id do it after constantly going to the gym without taking much for breaks. I went in and Agreed to do it and he wanted me to come right back in the next day early in the morning to weight me and measure my arms and legs etc.
I went in and got on the scale I weighted in at 280 pounds. I almost through myself to the ground and let tears flow, I was so proud of myself at that point in time. I lost 85 pounds just doing something and not stopping for anything. After this I was convinced that I could do this and psyched myself into doing the personal training.
My trainer killed me, my first month was probably the hardest 30 days of my entire life on this planet. It wasn't just the exercises it was the Diet. The Diet Killed me more, I was never used to this eating a can of tuna with this no fat mayo that was just disgusting and watching other people and friends eat Donairs and pizza and stuff while i ate a cooked piece of flavorless chicken breast with beans for dinner, But I had to say It was worth it in the end. At the beginning of the next month i weighted myself and was at 265. I lost 15 pounds in 30 days, I was extremely surprised at this outcome.
Once summer was ending I was become more confident in myself as a whole and decided Id go back to school to actually do something with my life, I quit my personal training and began going to school and found out that they had a very nice gym for being such a small older school.
At my current standing I do cardio everyday for 30mins to and hour Jogging or walking on a treadmill and lift weights mon, wed, fri and have no intention on stopping.
I just felt like sharing this story cause people need to realize that they can do extraordinary things when you release you're potential or just change the way you look at certain things. Even when I think of all the hard work I put in the last year It does bring tears to my eyes.
I want to Thank Team-liquid for being a great website, and my Friends and family for there support in the last year to help me achieve this.
Also some comparison pictures to show off my transformation a little bit. I don't really have anything for full body tho but my face can pretty much tell the tale. Anyone can do it, there is no secret only hard work.

That's awesome. And this all happened probably... not a moment too soon. The later you wait to try to lose excess weight and the more you weigh the harder it gets after all.
I don't need to lose a lot of weight but I definitely need to get into a routine of getting the appropriate exercise so I'll mentally refer to this for a bit more inspiration.

Its all about your Mental State of your mind, I just visualized what I would look like, How my body would change and it helped me through this, I could almost write a book on a single blog about what i went through the ups and downs.

Absolutely amazing
Great job getting fit!

Awesome work bro. I need to follow your suit. =) I am working, much more slowly than I would like, on the same thing and I hope to get to my old weight sometime. I am currently in between your start weight and your current, and about the same height, I think I am 6'4 though. Keep it up!

I started out extremely slow, but as my body begun to start to get comfortable with the change of pace I slowly sped up with my work outs and how much or what I would do.

I'm not really embarrassed, it is just my face we tend to lose most of our first bit of weight from our face Im still pretty flabby everywhere else but im trying to tighten up those regions.

iNcontrol would probably rip me in half, but Ive looked as him as a big of an Icon when its comes to gamers being in shape, Same thing with Ret. The funny thing was when i saw that whole thread post with Ret losing his weight it was about the same time i had lost a lot of weight.
Congratulations!
Hopefully you can find motivation like this for other areas of your life as well
It has actually doing this gave me alot more confidence to do a lot of things I thought id never be able to do such as like ride a skidoo or get a girlfriend at that xD

This is pretty hardcore. Good job.
Do you cook for yourself to manage your diet? I feel like that'd be a good way to inject some flavour into these bland chicken-breast-and-beans concoctions you speak of.

Thanks for that, and great fucking job on your tons of hard work

jk jk That's really impressive and inspirational.

Fuckin amazing... Happy to see someone ready to change habits and lifestyle for healthier living... Most obese people just look for temporary shortcuts (pills, surgery, some impossible diets and all that BS) and then they get fat again... Glad to see you're not one of them.
