Sup guys, it's been a while since i posted a video here. some of you may remember me from a while back. For the new TLers since sc2, i'm the guy that did the scribbles for the TSL3. If you are curious on my drawing process I've recorded the timelapse for TLO's portrait.
I also have a youtube page that contains a lot more videos as well as some of the more interesting ones like drawing with salt, chocolate syrup, 2 handed same time. Check the channel out if you haven't yet. http://www.youtube.com/theportraitart
Here is Mr. Dario, enjoy. (TL can't embed wide screen youtube)
You made him look so sad. This is really impressive, nice job! Wish I could draw like that. I thought it was all about laying out the dimensions of the face and eyes and such, but you looked like you did it in a really cool way!

I thought he looked more majestic. The picture has a certain Treize Coucherenada (Gundam Wing reference >.>) side to it. I looked at some more of your drawings, they're awesome! I especially liked those of Hugh Laurie and Kirsten Kreuk
YESSSSSSSSSSSS I was actually on your page a few days ago wondering why you hadn't been updating more. Your drawings are just so amazing - I love watching you fill in the eyes because that's when I feel like I'm starting to watch the piece literally come alive.
Always love your stuff - looking forward to more!! Can't wait
Incredible drawing. You have such an amazing artistic talent. I'm completely envious of your drawings. Enjoyed the other videos you have up. Keep up the good work
I thought this was insane...then I watched your salt video, that shit is ridiculous, you are so talented. Sorry I can't articulate that more, you're just so good.
I'm really impressed by the hair. It's cool to see what highlights and shadows can do to some black lines to make it look real.
At first I didn't notice it until the finished portrait came up and I was like "WTF where did that hair come from?" so I had to rewind and watch you retouch it.
Unbelievable. You have quite the talent. I just finished watching every video in your youtube channel. I am blown away. Keep being a badass artist baller. Please. Thanks for the amazing work.
Looks really good as always but I can't escape the feeling that the shadows around his left eye are a tad to dark. Almost as if somebody hit him and now he has a black eye.
I love watching your videos, something about the start where it all comes together so quickly. I think my favorite is that old 2 handed shawshank thing. That's just so sick and makes me wonder if you're human at all
These are pretty nice, but all seem to be done entirely from photo reference, as is visible from the lack of layout (unless you just did a few preliminary plan drawings and had them on hand) and the camera-flash highlight in the eye. Not that photo-reference is abhorrent, but it would be nice to see a variety of reference angles used to create a new viewpoint, to further the end product from high-contrast photography.
Nice charcoal technique though. Any particular reason you didn't erase the grease on the right after the drawing?
Wow! Silly me, i always thought that these pictures look too much like photographs. Surely this can't be done by pen and paper. The so called "artist" must've just made a photograph into black and white in photoshop. You are amazing :D
I can't believe someone so talented also posts on TL haha. Your work is amazing, and your music choices are incredible, lending a really pleasant ambiance to your videos.
If you just showed me the final product on the lightbulb drawing (sans signature) I would have thought it was a black and white photograph. I just can't fathom how anyone can do that; simply incredible.
Your amazing man. When I saw that speed drawing I just staring at the video, replaying it over and over again, You make me want to get back into drawing again. Any tips to drawing portraits?
I've been a fan of yours for some time. Drawing like that is something I've always dreamed of doing, but I wasn't born with the gift. Once again, beautifully done.
Once question, though: what happened to your Bisu portrait video? It was brilliant! AND IT WAS BISU! Might it be possible for you to re-upload it?
EDIT: Oh, think I found out why. I had annotations disabled.
