Can anybody else imagine how awesome it would be to have like a $100 contest held at each MLG for the person who could run super gravitron the longest? I mean, I guess it's just an idea with no reasoning behind it, but I could easily see it being incredibly fun and competitive. It might even bring in more people (not that MLG needs help); pay money for a ticket and get a chance to win $100 bucks playing VVVVVV.
For those of you who haven't played the game -- it's pretty simple on paper but difficult in practice. Right and Left or A and D move and then you have an action button which 'flips' you or, in a way, changes gravity.

Hmmm.. well... Waste - I don't think so. No to little return? Maybe. Just harmless fun and only $100.
One of the biggest draws of MLG is the open brackets... but everybody knows that your average Joe isn't getting anywhere near the top 64 in SC2. And obviously there are teams playing Halo and COD who go there knowing they have very little chance of winning as well. The idea is to have something fun for those guys to compete for (for fun).
Business-wise, it wouldn't be much of an investment, nor would it probably see much if any return in the way of ticket sales. It's just a fun idea. If I had $100 lying around I'd gladly throw it in for this idea at Orlando. However, it wouldn't be quite the same if it didn't get like 30 minutes on the main (or some other) stage.

but this is cool, and interactive mini games are definitely a good idea, but they might already have enough stuff to do
True. I just though it'd be pretty cool to add some extra flair to MLG. As it is, it's a competitive E-Sports mecca. What I REALLY want it to be is the gaming mecca. "The VVVVVV portion" -- just like one of the fun dance or costume portions at blizzcon. The difference there is I guess Blizzard doesn't mind wasting money frivolously on such contests because they know half of the people there pay them a monthly fee
