Whenever I lose a game I just want to gg my opponent and leave as quickly as a I can. I don't know why or how exactly it came about but I always try to leave before they GG. I guess its because I think of them snickering 'nenenene I won very handsomely' and curling the mustache while doing it. It makes me want to rage when people GG me, I never rage like ever. Maybe I rage offline or cry and sob because I'm /forevergold but I never bm or rage at anyone unless they bm me.
handsome? (no its not destiny).
I think I clearly need to do some non rage therapy, just get heaps of people to gg me all the time. I know that people dont ACTUALLY snicker when they win, or maybe some of you do. Does anyone else encounter this problem? I always tell the people I play with often that I hate it.
What most annoys me is when I cant quit before they GG me :/
I was actually just thinking about this the other day...I hate being told by my opponent that the game is over. I'LL tell you when I concede, I don't need you to do it for me
Its not so much that I mind offensive GG, I mind it when I lose and they GG me back.
Most of my games recently have had zero chat in them... But if someone GG's me, I either say nothing or "wp' in return.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to his opponents gg'ing after he does. Not the offensive GG everybody (rightfully) hates.
I agree with the other posters
You: gg Opponent: gg
Means to me that the opponent felt like it was a good game. Maybe they ARE actually mocking you, however I choose to take it that they are satisfied with the game as you are.
However:
Opponent: gg
Offensive GG annoys the hell out of me.
It always annoys me when I gg and leave a game and then the player messages me to gg. I mean, if I wanted to talk I would have stayed longer in the game.
no gg no skill
maybe you just want to be able to think your opponents don't have skill?
Atleast ur doing better then me, I allways want to GG when I lose. But when it happens I get so frustrated about the game, mostly at myself that I just leave and requeue. :p
I always gg, so at least I have SOME skill. Yeah offensive GG's are annoying aswell. Like I dont have a problem when I gg someone back, if its a really trashy game and it just feels bad then its usually worse.
It always annoys me when I gg and leave a game and then the player messages me to gg. I mean, if I wanted to talk I would have stayed longer in the game.
same.

on my wack ass HP laptop i have to hit "function" then "volume up" to get f10 this causes me to miss sometimes and then i cant leave before they gg i dont like it but i dont hate it nearly as much as you do.
I expect a GG. If I loose game and I GG, I expect the winner to GG me back. I dont get angry if they GG me back after I have sent a GG in a game I know I have lost. On the other hand, if I play what I think is a good game, those touch n go types, and I end up loosing, and I send the GG, if the person who just beat me does not give a GG back, I try to make the game last as long as I can scattering pylons and nexus'all over the map. I think its only manner to say GG back to someone who has just given you and GG, knowing they have been beat. I always GG, win or loose. If someone1 leaves a game without a GG, I'm sure to give them a "GG Son"in chat after the game.

I always start typing gg back when i win but they always leave before i press enter. Just like i try to do.

When someone offensive ggs me,usually after a cheese or something,I just think to myself:"You little bitch..." But then there are exceptions.I had a few epic long games where the map was mined out and in the end I lost and the guy just says something like:"Wow,gg man",so the context is important i feel like.
I only gg back when they stick around waiting and it's apparent they are waiting for the gg because I know how it feels.
Day9 talks a lot about rage and StarCraft. It's totally natural. You're focusing on a highly-stressful event for something like 20 minutes, doing a lot of very taxing tasks at once, and if all of that work goes to waste at the end, chemically and biologically, you go insane! I "gg" and gtfo. I don't wait for my opponent to gg back. If someone's calls "gg," however, I manner-up and "gg" back. It's natural to be angry, but I don't gtfo because I don't like seen my opponent gg back, I do it because I'm mad that I lost
Some people who doesn't gg back after I gg makes me more sad T_T . I think it's manner that you response with a gg .
the question you should be asking is why the hell your opponents are gging when they win in the first place. the loser is supposed to gg, not the winner
ComaDose : I only do the GG Son if someone leave without saying anything. Even if I get spanked hands down, I still give a GG as a sign of respect. I expect the same to be done to me. I no likes rage quits

Yes it's wrong.
Not waiting for GG, at least for a few seconds, basically means you don't want reassurance that no matter how bad you think you played, your opponent still had fun in the game, and in fact you hate positive reinforcement because it makes you feel good, aka you hate feelings of elation and/or a general positive state of mind and are therefore and emo bitch and/or you hate yourself.
tl;dr: you hate yourself
I can't speak for everyone but when I gg back after my opponent gg'ed it is either me telling them that they did play well and I enjoyed the game or it is just rigid muscle memory reaction to my opponent saying gg. There is never any negative thought/emotion towards my opponent behind it.
Edit: Well, maybe a little snicker to myself if they were really cheesy, but still nothing too negative.
GG
I feel bad posting just that, it'll probably get me a warning. I thought it would be funny though as you said 'GG therapy where tonnes of people spam you with GG'. But anyway, I only ever gg someone back if i believe they truly played a game worth ebing proud of. Forever silver here speaking, but I do have some decent fun and challenging games at my level. However when I lose I also leave as soon as I type 'GG' for similar reasons, I fear the other player smirking over their win. And it is a horrible thought.

You should be able to configure something to change that. I know that was the first thing I did after I found out my Dell laptop has this.
I'd assume saying good game started as a sign of respect after a game ended, either congratulating the winner or the winner congratulating the loser for putting up a tough fight.
Now it seems to be an obligation like saying "thank you" and even meaning "it's over" or "all is lost" because it's usually said after everything is over.
I for one can recall that the first time I someone typed gg about 5 years ago or so it felt like a sign of respect ...
So, unless it's an offensive gg, there shouldn't be anything to be hurt about.

I find this diagnosis accurate.

Wow, I can't believe this is my first post in TL, ever, registered like ages ago.
Anyways, I might seem bad mannered, but I'm not. Whenever I lose a game, I just forget to GG, completely. All I do is just f10+n and click find match, (mainly because I'm pissed off at the fact that I lost) yet I actually do rage more than any person I've ever known/heard of. (Not ingame or anything necessarily, but have broken a keyboard :<)

You're effectively rubbing it in, exactly the type of GG the OP is worried about. It's only a step below offensive gg'ing.
Also to the guy who hides shit when he loses because his opponent doesn't gg back - this is just a way to make yourself annoyed man. I used to do that when I first started playing bw "Oh the guy won't gg back? Fine time to hide shit. Fucker" In fact its a common reason people type gg and immediately leave. To stop themselves getting annoyed (at least initally - obviously later you just get used to it).
See, jerks like you are why I offensive GG all the time. I just want you to know that I enjoyed the game. Why won't you let me???
Haha I'm like the exact opposite. When I win and my opponent says gg, I don't always reply immediately if I'm in the middle of doing something and I'm not sure if I've completely won yet, and then I feel bad if they leave before I can reply gg. This doesn't really apply to the gg-instaleave, just when people gg and then wait awhile (or hit menu and quit really slowly).
really? ur gonna hate me then. I usually add ? to my gg and i do it b4 they gg
I never GG when I win... I kinda find that offensive. Although I've noticed some people don't leave until I say gg, so I do it then.
If you try to leave before he says gg, just hit f10 + n immediately after saying gg to quit the game.

The other day, some guy on NA ladder GG'd for me. His bad luck was, that I was considerably drunk, so I gave him a shitstorm for it. He still kept being a jerk about it though. I don't see why people have to be such jerks about it. As long as you are not purposedly delaying the inevitable (like Terrans flying their stuff to the corner on the map), people shouldn't just be jerks to each other and simply respect their opponents.
I'm not going to go with the clichee saying 'It's just a game', because some people do take it seriously and put their hearts on line when SC2 is concerned, however, a simple respect & courtesy shouldn't be excluded from it, no matter what.

Offensive gg = floating buildings
It makes sense to me. I don't like it either. Forget what gg actually means, its basically you saying I lost, you win. In most things in life when you lose..you just lose. You don't admit defeat or congratulate random people who beat you. Then them saying gg is back like yup..you DID lose, and yup, I DID win. Its admitting defeat and your opponent agreeing with it. It's not a great feeling. Even if they usually don't mean it in a negative way, it still comes down to that. So yeah..it hurts the ego a bit.

tl;dr: you hate yourself Agreed. I think this wanting to quit really fast before your opponent types gg back basically means that your attitude towards losing a game of SC2 is something along the lines of "Damn, I have been utterly humiliated by this random person on the internet, I'd better run away now." I just think that's not a very healthy attitude to have.
I don't understand why not. I generally wait a few seconds to see if they say anything and then leave.
literally a few seconds I don't wait long cause I find THAT is bm. lol Unless I want to scout their natural/3rd or something with an observer, in which case I let the other person know lol
I think a lot of it is the state of mind you are in. I also do the gg f10N or if im totally cool with the loss (straight up outplayed), I'll give them a second to respond. When I do do the fast gg/leave, one thing irritates me more than fucking anything in the world, and I can't even explain it. When your opponent pms you gg afterwards. Like I literally just fucking lose it, and most of the time It will have been some mistake I made or something I misread in the game, but shit it makes me see red.
I gg when the game is over, regardless of whether I won or lost or of whether you are aware it's over or not.
If my opponent cheesed or annoyed me, I don't gg back. Then I smugly twirl my non-existent mustache and chuckle. If it was just a game, I just say gg. If I really actually liked the way they played I'll throw in a gg wp
I dont really have a problem but one thing if I say gg wp and the other guy goes u2 when I lost the game it makes me rage for some reason. I feel if I played well I wouldn't have lost the game so when they say u2 while they might be good intention pisses me off for some reason lol.
this is why I always just type 'g' right before they leave. Because then they actually always see it. and they wonder what It actually meant. They think I typoed and are just meh about it. Or they can think I meant 'good' like im thankful the guy left already. Or what I really meant 'game' which is just like a thanks for the game thing. I only type GG when its actually a gg, probably the only trait Idra and I share.
I hate hate HATE offensive GGs.
Especially when zergs do it when they cheese me T___T;
Seriously, i played a guy who did a 1base baneling bust, killed some stuff of mine, said GG, and then i waited through 5 more waves of progressively less ling/bling, then killed him.
But i don't hate people replying to my GG's. Don't mind that so much ^^
I remember back on my first week playing sc2, i was in a base race with a bronze protoss, my first one of these situations ever. He had void rays, and i didn't even think of getting spores or queens out. I was killing his base faster and thought i totally had this game won, and i then saw a "gg" in chat. I'm like "oh cool, ive killed his only nexus and he just gg'd, yay a win" Next i notice he was just bringing his voids back to kill my roaches, and then was going to continue working on my buildings with them...I was devastated and felt like i just got trolled hard. Ever since then I've just had a hatred for people offensive gg'ing.
Offensive GG's are the worst. I will force them to kill every single building after that, so fucking bm. I still don't gg that much. There is just not alot of instances where I can say, "yeah you played good, you really earned this win, gg."
Whenever I get offensive gg'ed, I make extractors at every expansion and then leave to get some food and water.

Getting gg'ed at after I tap out doesn't bother me at all, it might even be the opposite.
Less relevant when I'm not on ladder, although I do get pissed off if they don't gg back and I feel like I made alot of effort to stay in the game. Although people I usually beat never gg back, they just leave the game lol.
However, if I think I can beat them I usually ask for a re (and then get owned again).
I just gg regardless of whether I lose to cheese or bad engagements or being outmacroed. If it was a really good game by the opponent, I'll go "gg wp" and wait for him to go "gg" as well.
I am not bothered by it at all.
I feel it is a quite friendly exchange especially after a decent game where both of you put in a good effort.
Of course, sometimes it's a crap game and I play poorly and I GG and F10 N super fast. XD

no, its perfectly courteous to do so. But i can kind of see how people might want to just get it over with and get out of the game.
Yeah I find it kind of funny when people offensive GG me, with some sort of cheese and I manage to hold, Expand 3 times and a move. I do smurk and curl my non-existant mustache.
But yeah I am talking about when I lose and gg, I try to leave before they GG me back.
gg lost its meaning because its convention now. i dont like it cause it feels like were being conformed to do it. i only gg when its actually a good game. i dont mind offensive gg's only because its something different and unexpected. it makes the game a bit more fun and i just laugh. i feel like were robots now, typing gg all the time.
also if you hate being "gged" to then dont type gg, just leave. dont wrry about being bad mannered, you arnt in a fukin formal event or something .
I only offensive gg cheesers, I think it should be allowed x.x
I'll usually give the opponent(if i win) a little time to quit before i type gg back. gging to me is just customary, I feel obligated to return a gg even if they played particularly bad.
What makes me rage though is when I lose, gg, and then the opponent goes out of their way to chat message me and say gg. ><

... I know that people dont ACTUALLY snicker when they win. You try to deny people their simple happiness or satisfaction of winning a game because it makes you feel jealous when you are already upset.
It's easy to empathize with that sentiment, but considering that you've won games previously, you should be able to appreciate the courtesy of the reply gg.
Practice leaving games faster.
"gg" - F10 - n, should take less than a second from when the "gg" appears, so there's no way your opponent can respond quickly enough.

When i type gg i always wait for my opponent to gg as well because it shows some respect to me and the game in my eyes.
When I lose, I say 'gg' and because I play on a HP, I can't press F10 fast enough, so most of the time he ggs me back, which I think is good mannered. I don't really know why that bothers you, it just seems good mannered for the winner to gg back the loser. What I really hate is the offensive gg though, I don't need you to tell me when to leave the game, I'll do it myself thanks.
I usually leave right after I type gg, but offensive gg makes me rage so hard. This is partly why I like customs with friends way better than ladder.
I used to actually wait in after I gg'ed for my opponent to gg as well; I wanted my opponent to show me some respect. Recently though I just F10 N as fast as possible (after gg'ing that is). I dunno, I just don't care that much for it, unless I thought it was a really good game, in which case I'll gg wp and wait for my opponent to gg as well.
edit: Another fun thing to do in customs specifically; whenever my opponent asks "from?" or "league?" or basically any forward questions after gl hf, I'll just ignore them. Fairly standard fair.
Then, 2 minutes later they suddenly leave. I unignore then after the game, check the replay, and turns out they were yelling at me for 3 minutes just because I didn't answer them

I've actually gotten into the habit of just GGing back and not getting offended. Every game is GG. More GGs are needed.

lolololol Aren't you kinda screwed if he scouts this relatively early on and kills you with his roach army? You got 6 gates bro ;O
Also if you see 6 gateways at that time you probably aren't going to immediately think "K gotta check for more bases" ESPECIALLY if the guy says "GG bro ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" when you see them. Offensive gg's always mean allins lol.

I always try to gg back to my opponent if they gg. I didn't know so many people thought this was incredibly bm.
Offensive gg is the worst bm though and gets me totally furious for some reason.

also if you hate being "gged" to then dont type gg, just leave. dont wrry about being bad mannered, you arnt in a fukin formal event or something . i feel like a robot when i say hello to people too damn these social norms.
