Before I talk about Starcraft specifically, I guess I should tell you about myself a bit. I am 25 years old, which means I should feel young, but unfortunately, the average age of a pro gamer makes me feel a lot older than I am. I was born, and still live, in Liverpool, England and I am a software developer (I'm sure there's a joke about programmer/progamer somewhere in there...).
Back to Starcraft, I started playing Starcraft at Christmas 2010 as I received it as a present. I had never really played an RTS with any kind of enthusiasm before, although I did own (and still do) the original Starcraft and Brood War expansion. It is one of my biggest regrets that the 14 year old version of myself didn't realise what I had in my hands and never sought to learn or play with any kind of skill.
I started off in Bronze and have battled my way up to Platinum as Zerg (although I have recently been relegated to Gold, mostly due to the last month playing as Terran and Protoss to learn more about their play style). I guess that's what has motivated me to do this. I know for a fact I can not be an amazing player but it is my dream, and I think I have it in me to get to high Diamond and maybe even low Masters.
I am still trying to find my style, I tend to play very passively and wait to get to 200 and even then keep saying: "I'll just wait for this upgrade to finish". I am trying to force myself to be more aggressive, and I want to bring dropping and Nydus Networks into my game, as I think these have a lot more utility than you usually see. I love watching TLO at the moment for this reason!
I've been rambling a lot so I'll stop now but I think I'll be updating this more. I think I will be analysing my games and posting the replays. Hopefully these updates will prove more exciting for you than this one.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy anything I post in the future.
