I'm not really sure how to search for my first post, since if you go into post history it's sorted by Last Message in the thread...
I think it was either this one: (in a thread about the mineral blocks in Medusa)
Actually I think the minerals are actually worth "0" there so you can keep on mining them when attempting to jump...
or this one: (about iCCup Goals)
I wanted to see what level I was - and that was basically through playing as many games as I could. So I succeeded in getting over my fear of playing unknown players over the internet, which was pretty cool since I don't have to play only with my less-skilled friends anymore.
Made C- on one account, though my actual level is probably D+ or something. Definitely looking forward to playing more now that the mental hurdle is gone.
Pretty cool to see (especially the iCCup one), since that was the beginning of my journey through playing competitive Brood War. Three years later, I made it to C, and blogged about it too! I can die satisfied now.

Find out her blood type. If you have the same blood type, cut out your liver. Say you can't live without her. She will be instantly in love.
If you don't have the same blood type, break into her house and steal her clothes. Wear them to work one day. She will be instantly in love.
Trust me on this...
I'm pretty proud of my first post lol

My really awful posts didn't come until later, luckily for me, but my first post was in some random GSTL interview about DRG. I just said something like "DRG is cool, but I like slayers more" if I remember (it was in relation to MVP vs Slayers in GSTL i'm guessing)

If you can tell me how I can find my first post, I'll read it and spoiler it.

They have an ability that makes them usable, not useful and if we buff them they will take over the game because people will just cannon up and rush for them. Maybe they should just get replaced.

Oh yeah, here's how to find a complete overview of your posts, including of course your first one. Go to this link:
http://www.teamliquid.net/mytlnet/myposts.php?action=view_as_posts¤tpage=1
And then just change the number at the end of the URL to what page of your posting history you wanna go to. For example, my posting history is 81 pages long so if I wanted to find my first post I'd add 81 instead of 1 at the end of the URL.

I feel like being physically fit helps all aspects of your life though. Exercise can increase the size of cerebral blood vessels, and people who regularly exercise have more efficient circulatory systems - resulting in additional glucose and oxygen to the brain. Maybe it wouldn't make a difference, but in an environment where fractions of a second can be the difference between a win and a loss, it's something to think about.
I think that adding an hour a day of solid exercise could actually be beneficial to a hardcore gaming training program :D

Ah gotcha.
I almost made my ID "PlasmaMango" (my last name is Mango), but there are a million TL IDs that have Mango in it (including the mod ^^), so I just went with what my old Blizzard IDs- D1, D2, and BW- had always been (although DarkPlasmaBall doesn't fit in SC2 or D3 x.x). So I'm PlasmaMango in D3 and SC2, but DPB here ^^

If you hack, your master account is banned and you're gone.
Furthermore, I don't see why it would be so hard to have three separate ranks for the three races. Even a noob like me knows I need to play people at a lower level to be competitive when I play an off-race. Heck, you could even have an aggregate score that combines the three for kicks and giggles.
In both cases you're not stomping noobs, so what's the problem? Found in One account per game- goodbye smurfing ...and based on my 5 posts in that thread, I'm just as wordy then as I am now.
Reading through that thread, I still think one account, multiple id's with separate ratings should've been the way to go.

+ Show Spoiler +The mineral block was a good trick in BW, but I honestly feel that destructible rocks would be better, simply because a command centre (not orbital command) can load up 5 SCV's and unload them before landing. Therefore, a Terran could mine 25 minerals before landing the CC. Is 30 minerals enough to block it? Terran can fly back to base, especially if there isn't a large distance between the islands. How high would the minerals need to go to prevent Terran players from mining it out before landing the CC?
I'm also not sure what happens when you load SCV's that are carrying minerals. Do they take the minerals in and out of the CC without depositing them? That would be kind of funny.
Destructible rocks are a bit better, although I guess Terran could still drop SCV's and attack them that way. It seems a bit more even though, given how long it will take 5 SCV's to kill some destructible rocks.
My first post was discussing the relative merits of island expansions in BW and SC2. I actually argued FOR destructible rocks in SC2 O.o
Interesting how completely irrelevant this is now, considering the state of island expansions.

My first posts and first thread are pretty boring lol. my first post was basically a long winded post about the Green tea AI after beta ended and my first thread was some blog about me doing random MS paint drawings while enjoying SC2 when it first launched.
But you know what I searched my name for the first time in order to take a look at my posts. Rather than directly looking up my name I looked up posts that included my name. I always thought that in order to get my post noticed by the community I had to write in a controversial and aggressive manner... but I guess I was wrong. There were actually people who read and quoted my casual normal comments, which is really nice and meaningful to me... once again I'm reminded that TL is really a nice place to be despite everything that may prove otherwise =)

Given the very first reply to the blog post:
"You don't mention the talent you've lost. I wonder if that equates to (probably fleeting) gain in members?"
I don't think it'll go over so well with their "regulars." It seems some of them have got some lofty standards for a site that is quite literally a popularity contest. It's pretty interesting to see a small community go through so many changes a common internet community goes through over a few years. Coupled with the very intentions for joining the site, this whole ordeal is exposing the harsh reality that people are there either to promote themselves or, having failed to do so, are reveling in the comfort of other "high-brow" authors with whom they may affiliate with and feel comfortable around; an internet clique.
Seeing someone say "I hate you guys! I hate this site! I'm quitting forever! I mean it!" and continue to post, attempting to rally others, is especially hilarious when the user's avatar is a grey-haired middle aged man.

@HawaiianPig Haha- I remember that Klazart/Authonomy thing. I must have still been lurking at that time, but I believe I actually made an account over their to defend TL/ gamers in general. Good times.

Oh wow thankfully my first post wasn't too retarded.
I don't know if this guy was posted yet...
Anyways what about Byun, he used to be a really good Z user back when I first started playing SC like... 5 years ago.
I also remember the times when Op -NC was the place to be. Being all "giddy" when I was in the same channel as ChoJJa and Yellow. God was I a Starcraft douche bag.

This is the first post that I see from myself... oh joy. Found in "[Q] TvP:How do I stop Cannon Rush in Colosseum?" of all things.

I was being all helpful and shit.
TvP feels very difficult to me, a protoss player. Changing from MMM with early Hellion harass to tanks and banshees requires you about 10 seconds of lifting structures (just an example). Anything I throw at you I can expect to be countered within the minute.
As for the Ghost vs. Templar discussions that always come up in TvP discussions, I think mathematically they are about even, and it relies more on the player than the unit.
First post, for real this time.

This motivated me to skim through *all* of my posts and I am proud to say, while not all of them are necessarily spotlight material, I never acted like a dumbass. That's lot of time on the internet well spent. However, if you compare my posts here (started around high school) with the posts I made on other forums when I was 12-13, it's a huge difference, and that's pretty fascinating, albeit embarrassing.

back then i was really active in the GosuGamers (starcraftgamers) forums, so i asked for help there, shortly after i was looking for help in teamliquid... four years later im still here...Lurkin'.
well i just got my old computer fixed with this new windows (at least for me) Win XP uE. i was playing for about 1 month on my dads computer, so yesterday i installed starcraft on my own computer, everything was going ok , till i joined iccup to play some games (i really wanna play with my pc cuz its located in my room so its more comfortable for me) , when i joined a game i noticed that when i press any key at the keyboard my mouse gets stopped like freezed for a few seconds, i tried with my dad's computer keyboard/mouse but i had the same problem, then i reinstalled my sc, and tried again and was the same result... anyone knows how can i fix this problem??
thankz you!
that was it... not so bad huh?

I also do not know whether to laugh or cry at the fact that Leta won and Flash was knocked out. I'm a huge Leta fan, so to see him beat the (arguably) best player in the world in a BO3 was amazing. I do not think there can be any doubt of Leta greatness any more. He might very well win a Starleague this season. Go Leta! On the other hand, Flash did not deserve to be eliminated this early on. And in both Starleagues! WTF? IMO he could've won both of them if it wasn't for WL. It was really saddening to se him after the game. Let's just hope he doesn't get too mentally broken and goes into slump-mode. Without any individual leagues to think about he should be able to rack up a decent amount of all-kills in WL. Go Flash!
:D It's fun to look through your old posts, lots of stupid/awesome shit in there.

I want to remember my first posts too . How do I look for it? The posts on my profile only shows my last 1000 posts. Nvm. I'm a noob.
All I remember was I was making a lot of stupid, low quality posts in the KMD thread in my early days. I still can't believe I didn't get a single warning/temp during all that.

My first ever post ever.
MountainDewJunkie United States. June 29 2009 16:06 Killer thread. May I?
I've beaten the Brood War campaign at least a dozen times, but have never completed the Original campaign (I always skip the PvP levels... I hate PvP!).
I have a huge crush on tutor who works at the math center at my college, almost as huge as her breasts (oh, and I have a somewhat unhealthy love of breasts).
I am strangely sexually attracted to women whom I can't tolerate.
I have had phone sex with a friend from another state at least one-hundred times.
I use multiple mirrors in the bathroom to check if I'm starting to lose my hair.
I have shoplifted over $200 worth of sunglasses and belts.
I bombed on a guitar solo in front of 600 people.
How fucking embarrassing!
This was me in a nutshell 3 years ago.
Updates: - did finally beat SC1 campaign - big titted tutor was married, was a no-go (slim chance of success anyway) - I'm currently dating someone I couldn't tolerate - I still have all my hair - haven't had da phone fap in 4 years. But everyone should try it. Prefer actual sex, though. - haven't shoplifted in 4 years, and I was an idiot for even doing so - I am still humiliated about that guitar solo

After lurking for a year i stumbled about a guy whining about gang violence in Brazil being scared and how terrible it is for him (while living in a protected apartment complex). Accidentaly i saw him as well whining in the High-Thread about not getting weed from the gangs because of this. I couldn't hold myself and had to point out the hypocrisy (being a complete dick and insulting him...), while everybody else was like "be brave", "i'm with you mate".
That was so stupid! I'm still very glad i just got a triple warning and wasn't banned. I always try to remember this one when posting, though it's hard sometimes to hold myself back...
Actually it was my 3rd post or something but the others were just meaningless stuff like "go Ret!"

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=128372 I wish the replay DL still worked... it was pure gold on multiple levels.
In the chat I clearly believed I was da shit because I was in gold during the beta >.> Then I won against a toss using marine/tank/shee... yeah, ikr? If he made more stalkers I would've been raped.
"I told you I was gold in beta" "I've heard stories"
I got a huge ego boost from that. It lasted until I actually figured out how not to suck badly. Funny thing is, I laddered the entire beta and sucked so badly the entire time.
Then I figured out my name was crappy and made a new account to hide that I had made such stupid posts.
Not as good as the "How much do you grind?" thread but still funny imo

Mine is a boring "I need tech help" post. I was actually using Liquipedia to get me through the campaign at the time of posting it because I was even more terrible than I am now.
I'll spoiler everything after the first paragraph. I'd forgotten how terrible my PC was back then though, lol.
On October 30 2010 00:46 Iyerbeth wrote:Hi all, I’ve been reading here for a while but this is my first actual post, and I was hoping someone could help me design a pc, and the sticky thread and the thread itself said this was the place to ask so yeah, here I am. Also that being said, it might be an odd place to do so but to anyone who reads this, I wanted to say thanks for the site and the effort put in to it. + Show Spoiler +With that out of the way, here’s what I’m looking for. What is your budget?I'm looking to upgrade in two parts if possible, and I realise it's a little restrictive doing so but my current pc is driving me insane. I'd be looking about about £300 for a motherboard, cpu and 4gig of ram, although I'd be able to push that closer to £400 if it makes a significant impact. I'd need this part to contain reasonable integrated graphics able to run WoW and SC2 without too much trouble, even if not on high graphics. In the begining of the new year I'd then like to spend a further £200-£300 adding a seperate graphics card and more RAM. What is your resolution? At the moment I play on whatever my pc will run any set item at, but if I had to pick I’d be happy at 1280x1024. What are you using it for?In short I want to be able to use my pc for: - Running WoW on ultra graphics.
- Running SC2 on high graphics (Or ultra in single player if possible in budget).
- Listening to music and visit internet sites whilst running games.
- Video editing/map editing.
The long version: The main reasons I want to upgrade are for Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. In general I’d like to be able to run either of those games whilst able to quickly alt tab between a media player and an internet browser without particularly suffering for doing so. I also would like to really get in to using the SC2 map editor which currently just annihilates my pc, as well as video editing from time to time. What is your upgrade cycle?Last time I upgraded was around 2003 with 2nd hand parts, so really just when it gets to the point like now where I’m hitting a wall with software requirements. I guess I’d be looking for 5+ years before upgrading again, with the exception of possibly adding more RAM in a few months time. When do you plan on building it?I'm planning on setting up the basic motherboard, CPU and some RAM as soon as possible. I'll then be adding a seperate graphics card and further RAM in the new year. Do you plan on overclocking?Whilst I understand what overclocking is I don’t know how to safely do it without damaging my system and thus have no intention of doing so. If it would be deemed important though to make a system work out in budget I’d be happy to put more time in to learning how to do so. Do you need an Operating System? No, I’m getting a copy of Windows 7 separate to this build. Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? No, I don’t plan to do so. Where are you buying your parts from?I live in Europe (England) and so far Ebuyer.com has proven to be the cheapest option on most parts I’ve looked up so I will likely end up using them. (That's it for relevant info)I also wanted to show my current specs, just because having looked up the minimum specs I’m amazed it can run Sc2 and I thought I'd share just how low you can go and still play. Managed to get through single player on normal and 1/3 of the way through brutal before I gave up and decided I need a new system! - Motherboard: Uncertain (year 2000 ish motherboard).
- CPU: 1.6 ghz single core.
- Ram: 1.5gig DDR1.
- Graphics: nVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 Ultra
Yeah sometimes I have to press escape to close video clips on single player because the fading out takes forever, yes everything is on low and every time I click a new unit or a new one hatches or I build a new building or more than 40 units are on the screen, or I’m looking blankly in to a fog of war area in frustration, or trying to load a game or a new sound file begins playing - it lags, but….yeah ok I need a new pc. Thanks in advance for any help at all. Edit: Typo correction.

However, if you compare my posts here (started around high school) with the posts I made on other forums when I was 12-13, it's a huge difference, and that's pretty fascinating, albeit embarrassing.
Yeah I'm the same way. The only dumb posts I've made have been one-liner celebrations in LR threads.

Nearly all of the threads I've started were either shut down, should have been shut down or were in Tech Support.
I've since not made very many threads as I've realized I have nothing worthy of a TL thread.

My first post was a long response to a thread about stream sniping. I'm proud that it was my first post even though I've stayed away from TL drama since then.. I thought it was pretty good.

Glhf and get on with it. The reward you get for sniping a professional player should be the heightened competition and the satisfaction of the gameplay. Your stream sniping reward does not include showboating or advertisement, and positive publicity should not be expected when you engage in interaction with the stream.
In regards to the OP's situation, he guessed you were stream cheating because you put yourself in a situation where he could reasonably assume that you were doing so. Had you not cried out quite so loudly "Hey iNcontroL! I'm on your stream!" you would have been fine.. though of course, 5k people wouldn't have seen your twitter.
One point I find startling here is how many people in this thread are up in arms about professionalism. I wouldn't call iNcontroL's statements professional, but I wouldn't give him a citation and have him fined or anything either. He called it as he saw it, nothing more. Emotional, yes. Worthy of scrutiny, not really. There are ways you can prevent being perceived in such a fashion if the issue is really so important to you.
Also, about the damage he has done to your potential professional career by calling you out as a stream sniper or cheater.. No offense, but nobody was going to remember you for a one-off incident on iNcontroL's stream, I promise you. That kind of recognition came with a 15 page thread about stream cheating subtleties. If you had been matched against him 6 times in a row and were clearly demonstrating knowledge of the stream.. you are going to come off with a bad image, which is not only your fault, but also a big thing you need to consider when you're trying to go pro. Besides, professionals aren't made through stream sniping, they are made through results at tournaments, which you have already stated you lack the time or means to participate in.
I'm sure everybody understands the difference between stream sniping and stream cheating. It seems to me though that most of the community has a clear grasp on the kind of people known to participate in those sorts of activities, and it is unfortunate that through your demeanor you appeared to be one of them. Stream sniping can be fine to find good competition, but if you overdo it you're going to make a bad name for yourself. Like I said, this doesn't only mean repetitive targeting of the same streamer, but also calling attention to yourself and trying to piggyback on his fame. It isn't necessarily wrong, but it is annoying, and you can expect aggravated remarks if that's how you act.
