First: It is difficult for me to imagine someone that is a great speaker and a great person to appear on camera typing out the sheer amount of 'blogged' thoughts that you've slung throughout e-Sports in recent times. As for my thoughts:
I think that this shouldn't ever be made into a spectacle, that as much or more should happen off camera than off, and I think the people involved understand that and that gives me a certain optimism for the future of e-Sports.
I believe that having players on camera on the panels would be inappropriate in our current ecosystem. All player negotiations, contracts, etc are behind closed doors, and as such it wouldn't be fair to have the integral discussions as noted by Nokarot above, "[...] Issues brought up by players shouldn't even involve the games themselves, but should focus on player accommodations, treatment, scheduling, training, salaries, [...]" in public until everything else is out in public--which does need to happen in the near future for the full legitimacy of e-Sports to be seen. Right now, there are shady dealings involving players and teams (specifically Korean players having trouble with English contracts!) that should simply not be able to happen.

Really enjoyed the panels and your Moderation. Till the next time.

Yay, ReDeYe has an account and is blogging :D. You did a great job .

The way redeye is involved right now reminds me of old clan leadership before MMO's and voice chat programs like ventrilo and such changed how guilds are run.
Basically feeling in the spotlight and responsible to please many clan members all at once whilst not knowing what the boundary is if you did enough or need to do more, finally culminating in doing way too much and basically everyone feeling awkward.

Very much appreciated your work and thought the panels were great as far as they went. Hoping good things come out of this in the future.

First, Redeye great job moderating. You really handeld the discussion well. Very professional appearance.
The sound quality was horrendous though. But since this was the first event of that type I'm sure it will be better next time.
To the congress itself, I feal there was to much fluff. I always had a pretty good idea of what the awnsers from the panelists would be when you asked them a question. But I think this is because this was the first event of its kind and a lot of clearing up had to be done. I think we need those events more often to start real discussion.

Great work Paul, moderating what I hope will become a regular event. Fantastic to hear from so many different managers, game and technology developers and event organisers to get their insight and opinion on the current state of eSports and what it could develop in to.
I think it helps to hear from these guys so that we understand they're not just out to make money, they are human beings and they have the drive and passion to make gaming successful.
Look forward to great things coming from this!

At first I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any real room for debate among the panellists, but controlling the conversation did mean that you could keep it focused onto the actual question (or even sometimes specifically calling someone out that they still hadn't provided a decent answer). If this format were to be continued, might I suggest having the moderator in the middle as it felt like the panellists were craning around to see/talk to you rather than being a part of a group.

As you said a lot of prominent figures were missing and the panels didn't really deliver the answers a lot of us have been looking for.
I honestly don't see what we've gained at all. Panels don't really do justice either. That's more for show.
That's why I say get a closed doors summit with all the big players and try to come to terms with how you guys can work together and help each other out.
You need to put on a totally different lens of looking at the business to make it more profitable.

Is there a written version available anywhere? I'm doing a study on eSports and i'd really like to read the entire thing.
