Watching these videos I always feel like "Yeah, I could do that if I practiced a lot" ... and then you draw the eyes and suddenly the picture looks nearly real. I could never ever come close even if I practiced 24/7 for ever. It's magic.

Did you create the portrait of Sheldon hanging in his office in The Big Bang Theory? It looks like the other portraits you usually create.

I've always been absolutely terrible at drawing or doing any kind of art. Literally a stick figure is the best I can do. I'm not kidding when I say any 5 year-old can do better. How much do you think doing something like this (or just more basic pencil drawings) is natural talent and how much is practice?

The pencil detail and the nuances like your subject's hair seem to be your main focus and I suppose that's fair, but I just can't relate to what you're trying to do. It's not like art needs explicitly to be about promoting some non-art agenda, but I think it is inherently meaningless as a pursuit if the challenge in the work is only to be a photocopier, an impressive rendering tool and nothing more. As with the Steve Jobs picture which was an exact reproduction of that same fascist image we saw on his official biography (and I mean fascist in a real technical aesthetic sense--not that he was a nazi or something, but that those wise eyes staring into the future reproduced millions of times is the artistic currency of fascism), you are taking from a source rich in implication and simply reinscribing all the same stuff on to it without comment, without a voice, without soul. I challenge you to make your own images, glider. gl hf If Glider enjoys drawing celebrities then that's his agenda. You are welcome to criticize others on the internet of course, but imo it's not meaningless for people to do that which they obviously enjoy doing. With that said, nice one Glider ^_^
