What's one of your favourite beans to drink (origin and process)? One of mine would have to be Sumatran Wahana Natural. Notes of watermelon, fruity, smooth, bit of acidity. Very refreshing.

A close second was a gift from a friend purchased from Isetan in Tokyo, the cover didn't say anything useful other than 'special blend'. It was pricey, though he didn't tell me how much. I've also had some amazing Kilimanjaro coffee while I was touring Africa. While I was in Zanzibar, locals blend their coffees with spices such as cinnamon and vanilla beans. Very unique. I've also tried Kopi Luwak from Bali (a small packet as a gift), and it wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be. I would probably never buy this myself. edit: Japan is actually a nice place to be if you nice coffee. There are tons of coffee shops all over the place (better ones are usually in posh residential areas) that roast their own beans, and sell them in small packets. They are typically 500 yen for 100 grams of artisan roasted coffee, a pretty good price if you care enough about your beans.

There are usually some around, in Australia its REALLY easy to find home roasters and cafes that do specialty coffee. In fact home roasters for me are way better than commercial, I get it cheaper and roasted to my liking. I usually pay around AU$10 / 250g. Massive placebo storm in my opinion, just because you do something often doesn't mean it is complicated or important. I just imagine these blogs with other unrelated food: "Alright TL, I'm finally cutting apples out of my diet", "I'm worried about my apple consumption, I eat one with basically every meal." "Switching out apples for pears, definitely feeling a difference". Regardless of the side effects or short or long term harm of anything wouldn't you agree that too much of anything isn't a good thing? Humans need diversity. Besides that arguable point, wouldn't you agree that it sort of just sucks having to rely on extraneous stuff to live your life? It sort of saddens me to see friends and co workers who smoke weed constantly and power down caffiene and/or ciggarettes all the time. And then binge drink on the weekends. Its like they are never themselves, always needing some other shit to regulate their mood or energy levels. You can argue that many people (especially ones that I know) just have the addiction gene and are in denial and I probably would as well. My point is the same for anything, artificial sweeteners, processed fast foods, gasoline, [insert whatever].. It's just a more satisfying and arguably happy life if you don't have to rely on shit and can just be an independent guy. PS- Phil Laak, holds the guinness world record for longest poker sessions (over 100 hours) without any stimulants. He just ate healthy (and he still came out with a winning session even though he was exhausted, hallucinating, and obviously not operating his brain properly). You don't need caffiene, just be strong.
