I'm DiaBoLuS, a german gm mmr protoss player in HotS, former HotS GM and 6 time GM in WoL. I play sc2 since the release of the beta and I watch a shitton of professional SC2 – basically all major tournaments, many online cups and ladderstreams as well. Also, im obsessed with rankings! Therefore, i post a foreigner rankings for about a year now, and i plan to keep posting rankings on a monthly basis in the future. When i talk about „Foreigners“, i exclude non-korean asian players (chinese, taiwanese), simply because I dont see enough of those scenes to rank them, and they dont participate in your regular major tournaments too often. So you may call it a „Western Foreigner Ranking“ if you so desire.
How do i make my ranking? Which criteria do i have? My personal ranking watches mostly on results, but also on how they where achieved. Also, ladder-performances as well as past, major results play a role in my ranking – as well as my general impression of a player (does he seem talented / cheesy / cant seem show off his full potential somehow). Activity obviously also plays a role – you cant call a player you never get to see one of the absolute best in my opinion.
Ranking system: roughly 75% = my own rank /// 25% = aligulac.com rank. both ranks will be shown in the players pictures, comulating in one rank.
So when criticizing the ranking, please talk specifically about my personal rank given, not the comulated rank, since the aligulac rank isnt influenced by me
too make things easier: (my own rank [3x] / aligulac rank [1x])

Bye, HuK. He completely fell off the list.
Agreed about the font. The names/big numbers are fine but the two small lines are kind of hard to read.
Why is demuslim so high ^^ ? He did well in challenger but his previous rank was high as well. He also beats me all the time on ladder I'm not trying to say he's not deserving, just want to know your opinion ^^! Kaiwarkox
I don't really understand these. Admittedly I am biased (look at signature) but Suppy definitely beats out some of these individuals, and individuals like TLO probably are as well.
I think this is a fairly solid list considering how volatile (and sometimes terrible) the Western scene is. The only two glaring exceptions are Suppy, who should be around 10-15, and Moonglade who deserves top 6-8 at least.

I've never even heard of Dayshi and Bunny, how they are better than Suppy, Kane and Huk I have no idea.
Goswser top in USA? If you say so. When we get to see these guys they are all exiting early rounds from tournements anyways.
Huk is entirely irrelevant at this point. Basically seems to only lose from what i can tell. i can't think of his most recent high finish in a major tourny. The only thing i can think of Kane doing is winning shoutcraft america, which isn't exactly a big deal. On the other hand Bunny is in EU premier league and has been consitently good in the short time he has been around, he's even beaten quite a few koreans and can take maps of most of them. Dayshi was also in EU premier league and he all killed quantic's all korean lineup in the acer teamstory cup.
I do agree that suppy needs to be there, he is very strong.
Also goswser is really strong, i would probably rank suppy slightly above him but not by much
I agree with your top 3 after that I start to completely disagree.
Grubby is way too low, Suppy got completely snubbed and many other players like Dayshi and Happy are way too high.
It seems to me like you put a lot more weight on European success (like for example that you've completely snubbed Shoutcraft America) than anything else when comparing these foreign players but I suppose that might make sense since we haven't had a proper MLG open bracket in a while. I suppose we'll have to wait for that to change.

Probably because you only follow the AM scene or generally isn't aware of the entire scene, since both Bunny and Dayshi was in WCS EU Premier and especially Dayshi has upped his game A LOT in the past couple of weeks.
well, suppy is in my 30-35s, he had a great run at wcs NA for sure. Kane did a very good job at the Shoutcraft NA tournament.
The problem is: i dont really see them being stronger than the other guys that acutally made the top 30. yes, you could make a point for them being in the 25-30s for sure, just as for strelok (who did good at wcs EU), you cant do them all justice. Also, alligulac has then pretty low.
Same goes for TLO and Dimaga - i both ranked them higher than the ranking shows, but alligulac has them on 14 (TLO) and 50-60 (Dimaga)
Bunny and Dayshi are tearing it up, especially Dayshi -owns- koreans on a regular basis in the ATC (which is online ofc, but he showed promising stuff offline as well (numerical cup)).
thanks for all the feedback, will keep going obviously

Are Chinese, taiwanese not foreign enough? :<
ToD reached premier division in europe this season. He plays better starcraft than he probably ever did.
And i stated several times why chinese and taiwanese players are not part of my list: its hard enough to judge each and every performance for "western" players, i cant possibly call how good Jim, Sen or MacSed are compared to the westerners - could you?
Btw: I'm serching for someone with enough time and knowledge about the foreign scene to be able to make his own ranking every month (1-30, ranks 30-40, ranks 40-50). This person would PM me his ranking (also excluding chinese/taiwanese) @TL once i ask for it (within a week or so). This way, i would have another opinion, and do something like 50% = my ranking, 25% = his ranking, 25% = alligulac rakings.
Would anyone be interested in that? If so, PM me! #forabetterranking
It'd be nice if you also posted your own ranking (in a spoiler tag maybe) in addition to your hybrid ranking. Good stuff though; I'm impressed by your dedication to posting this list every month
Holy shit, are people actually wondering WHY dayshi is ranked high?
People should be hyping this guy up for godssake, look at his results.
Gowser getting voted as overrated is anti am bias from people, but there is 0 anti american bias from OP. List is balanced in all aspects I have to say.

just made millenium lead 3-0 vs MVP once again, beating Billowy, Tails and DRG.
If anything, he is underrated. He yet has to show his offline strength though
Seems like an overall fair ranking. I dont know how people can say that Bunny and Dayshi dont deserve to be high up. They are both playing very well atm. We just have to see if it ever translates to offline success.
