Had no idea that Trinity Blood was a novel! Well at least if it's the same Trinity Blood that was an anime. Love the story, but I remember feeling like it was cut short, so it being a full length novel would be the reason why. Besides short stories on Starcraft that I still read nowadays, I really love reading a good Japanese Light Novel, but sadly it's so hard to get a hold on an English translated one.
I even wrote down the Giver as my favorite book in my college applications since it was literally the only book that I had remembered as thinking, "wow that book was amazing!" up till that point.
Yup the Trinity Blood novel is indeed the same as the anime (and has a Trigun-esque feel to it if you know what I mean). I personally favor novel > manga > anime since the less information I have the more my mind is engulfed by the story, the characters and the imagery, but I understand why in terms of popularity it would be the opposite
Even a 200 page light novel (which is quite short even for a light novel) with its simple syntax is quite a chore to translate so it does'n make business sense and fan translations would require tons of manpower so it's an unfortunate situation.

I was _really_ bad at it as well until about 2010! I hated reading all throughout school but once I could choose what to read and do things on my own terms, I've found reading and writing to be wonderful pastimes
If you're interested I can graph out the number of books I read each month starting from 2009. You'd see that I read nowhere near this many books in the past!

We're opposites then, I read far, far more several years ago and especially when I went to the school before high school (dunno it's name).

your blog feels more like a list of books you read than a review honestly. you shouldve chosen a couple gems and actually review them that would have been much more interesting.
if they were worth your attention they were probably worth more than one line reviews.

Hercules has spoken; but, I agree with him. You should do a more in-depth analysis of at least your top 2. Also, I recognized some titles from school in there... I need to go back and reread those.
edit: Random thought: Why does Kevin_Sorbo have a quote from Arnold Schwarzenegger, instead of Kevin Sorbo?

hmm well if you look @ my blog archive and look at the "new years resolutions" posts you'll see mulit-paragraph reviews of various books there.

should read the iron heel by Jack London. One of the more prophetic books i've ever read.

One of my favorite books, I reread it a few weeks ago. Have you read the other 3 books that are part of the quartet? (The Giver, Gathering Blue, Messenger, Son) The last one, Son, came out last year. I have not read them yet but looking forward to it.
Edit:
33. Gathering Blue - Lois Lowry
34. The Messenger - Lois Lowry
Nevermind! So have you read Son?

I'm such a slow and infrequent reader that these sorts of posts never fail to make me feel bad I used to read so much in high school and before that but since I started University I'm basically in survival mode most of the time and if I get downtime, I usually end up playing a video game or watching some tv show.
Anyway, I've never read anything by McCarthy so I think I'll check the Road out of my library or maybe just buy it. I think it is really great that you have kept up with your resolution so well. You should do another post like this in the future so I can use it as a form of recommendation !

Then don't. I'm sure he couldn't give a shit.

Bloody hell, how many hours do you read each day?
My reading is probably super slow but I'd struggle to get through an easy book in a week, let alone something dense with a lot of ideas in half that time.
I suppose you get better with more practice, I have a tendency to buy lots of books and not read them so I'm genuinely trying to get through them before I buy any more.
So far I've read:
Zero History A solid read with some cool ideas but nothing really mind blowing.
War with the Newts Probably the best satire I've read, I'm not a huge reader though. Still well worth a read to anyone who enjoys political satire with a sci-fi twist.
Arguably This is probably going to take me all year to get through but so far its great. It's Christopher Hitchens, 'nuff said.
The Power of Habit Reading this now, its nothing complicated, a very easy read with lots of nice little anecdotes and some interesting ideas, worth a read for anyone interesting in that kind of thing I suppose.
I'm also reading a few books on software engineering etc for work but I wont list them here and they are more just for something to do when work is slow rather than serious study.

Nope I haven't read Son! In fact I didn't even know that a 4th book had come out, so thank for the heads up. Gonna go grab it at the library soon

I had noticed that every time I gazed at my bookshelf and looked at the titles of the books, that would remind me of its contents and the takeaways from each (especially since I used to mainly read nonfiction until last year). I figured that if I have a digital record, then I could get a similar effect for books that I'd borrowed from friends or the library. I think the plan works, so I definitely recommend it. If you just have a text file with the book name and the month you read it, then you can do all sorts of fun things with the data later on

The more I've read, the faster I've become for sure. One thing you might try is to go get some books at the library where you're okay if you don't read everything in depth. Maybe a lightweight fiction novel or an easy to read nonfiction book (ex: a Malcolm Gladwell book). That might give you some practice in reading a little bit quicker.
