I bought Wings of Liberty at release and in my search of getting better I discovered TL and the whole proscene with it. I loved it and followed the sc2 scene for quite a few years, but around the time that HotS came out, I started losing interest. The games in HotS just don't seem as good anymore and every game just feels the same. The new units feel kinda boring and don't really seem to promote creative play. Does anyone else miss WoL?

Which really came down to whether Protoss threw down the vortex before Zerg threw down the neural. Repetitive, and a game purely of one reflex test. Not fun to play or watch. I don't miss WoL. Kiwikaki vs Stephano tho. Those games were amazing even if it involved the broodlord vs archon toilet.

As far as HotS is concerned, I think it's unfair to say it doesn't promote creative play. It has simply changed the game, and most would say it's change was negative. The nostalgia of hearing the WoL music really hits me hard though, even if the game is only about 4 years old.

I remember playing hours and hours on end in my friend's basement just wondering what it would be like to have guys commentate professionals. Sure enough, we discovered NASL and IGN Proleague, and were ecstatic. As far as HotS is concerned, I think it's unfair to say it doesn't promote creative play. I guess part of missing it, is that we were witnessing the scene growing and seeing players rise.
