We have been working on a game for about 1.5 years, and we are about to show it to press and open a closed beta of it! We are really excited for this, but unfortunately we still don't have a final name!
We made an internal voting for the name, but since we are a studio with a non native english speaking team, we wanted to see what the general feedback from people outside of Costa Rica would be.
Our game is set on a magical land where there are 3 characters made of paint that will help bring color back to the world by collecting paint orbs. Here's some concept art.
We basically have 5 possible final names that we wanted your opinion on! Please let me know what you think! I would really appreciate it.
The graphics look phenomenal, well done! I'm gonna have to think on the name for a little while, then I'm gonna post, as for the pool above I like "Kolormondo" the best.
Out of the ones listed, I tend to agree with the majority about Kolormundo. The K is probably better than C due to the odd crazy cartoony atmosphere, and gives it some character (or Kharacter ^_- ).
Being it looks like a running style, KolorCatch, Kolor Catchers, CatchKolor, etc. might fit it as well. But between the 5 above, Kolormundo for sure =]

Krazy Kolor Kommandos , or is that going to far? ^^
@OP:
Seems like a really nice game! adventure-like like the old days! I to vote Kolormundo, because it sounds catchy and is also good for the 'educational' scene. As I guess this game also has quite some learning experiences in it?

Naming the game "KKK" probably wont help it's sales.
"Kolormondo" is almost there, but it doesn't roll of the tongue. I think you should go for "Kolomondo" (without the 'r'). The meaning is still "a world of colours", but the name is now catchy, cute and easy to remember. Good luck on your project, it looks awesome!
I think Kolorando is best because it rolls of the tongue and makes you think of Colorado, which at least in my case takes me to roller coasters, speed, fun, etc.

I like the sound of Kolomondo too although I have no understanding of the language. Wouldn't it be weird and it looks like you can't spell? Maybe that doesn't matter.
I think the name Kolomondo is a bit too hard to remember, as it's a bit long and not a known (?) word.
Patapon for example, short, three very clear distinctive sound with the last "pon" sound to breaks the repetitive "a" sound. extremely smart. Despite its not an actual word, it is simple, easy to remember and just has a great ring to it.
I personally think kolomon would be a better name as "Mon" associates with Pokemon and digimon, or even molokon where kon sound stands out at the end.
Oh it seems I forgot these are final names. I think Kolomondo is probably best of all, kinda echos the fun looking elements

Well, you're pretty clear spelling doesn't matter by using a K instead of C. Also, another company got big by misspelling the word they were alluding to. Hint
From the list I like Tinkturo best, sounds distinctive and easy to remember. Kolormondo and Kolorando seems a bit awkward to remember - I just had to triple check how it's exactly written even though I understand the etymology. I'm not a native english speaker tho.
First off, thanks for all the valuable input! I really really appreciate all your comments, ideas and support! Its really amazing that we have a definite favorite in this short time!
I made another thread in Polycount forums to see their responses, and its funny to see that the definite favorite over there is Color Guardians. Completely different results than the results over here!
So I wanted to ask both threads what they thought about the others favorites. How do you guys feel about "Color Guardians" name that is favorite on Polycount?

I think a decent amount of people will recognize it as being a play on "world of colours" (mondo/monde/mundo...).
I like that name too btw.
Color Guardians, I agree with previous posters, is an extremely generic and boring name.
I find it strange that you spend 1.5 years baking a cake and then you let a bunch of strangers choose the icing, but to each their own.
I really like tinkturo because it's cute, easy, and fun to say. I think the name of the game should reflect your game of course, but should be mainly for marketing purposes. Your game's demographic looks towards the younger audience, maybe even female. These are the reasons why I chose tinkturo.
This looks amazing! Might I ask what engine you guys used to program this in? (I started a game development club for my school recently and any professional opinions would mean a lot to me)
How do we get into the Closed Beta man? Also long time no see ZeroCartin, EverZtelecoM here , Can't wait to get home and see what the game looks like, I can't see the pics from here, sounds awesome!
If I have to rate, I would put "kolormondo" first, "kolorando" close second, "Tinkturo" third, and I would put a strongly reject on "color guardian" and "Paint heores". Why ? Because "guardian" and "heores" are common names that are already overused in the gaming industry, and that sounds like a lame game with micro-transaction .
I suppose it depends on where you are selling it but it's clearly a different product and no one should mistake them for being related so I think you are fine in the US at least. Of course if it turned into a multi million/Billion $ project it would probably be cheaper to settle with them about it if they found some cracked Judge who would even consider it. But with that kind of money it would be couch change to you.
We all should of asked beforehand who your target audience was with the game also?
