I don't think I'm particularily ugly, besides the skin thing... and the weight thing... and the height thing... but other than most of me I'm alright

Yeah, good point. Everyone---even people without psychiatric conditions---has bad days. And no one---but no one---gets better and then boom they're done. As with Starcraft, it's not about winning every game, but improving in the long run.
And yes, medication isn't a bad thing but (at least in the United States) psychiatrists will usually just throw medication at you without any other kind of treatment or helpful input on actually managing the condition, which is a good way to not really get better. Finding a good clinical psychologist or LCSW is a better place to start.

Good sentiment, but I've met a lot of people who needed treatment who didn't get it because they/their parents/guardians/friends thought it would just pass on its own. It doesn't have to be like this forever, but it takes targeted and sustained treatment to get there.

research health care professionals, ask lots of questions, but don't be one of those dumb dumbs who rejects pills because their crazy aunt said it was bad. try stuff, know the risks and side effects, be honest with your doctor and you work together to come up with a plan that is tailored to you and what works for you

Get some help dude. No shame in that. No one is ever too far gone for them to be bettered with some help. I have had to get some serious help lately and it is the only reason that I'm still standing here today. I have gone through some serious depression in my life and trying to do it on my own was one of the most foolish decisions i ever made - and knowing that, I vowed to do things differently this time and get help and I'm so happy I did.
No shame man, no shame. Plus you are an awesome dude - Id hate for you to disappear from TL!

I have learned wallowing in self pitty never helps the situation no matter how comforting it feels.

Your blog made sense to me. I've been there. As lichter said, seek help. A good therapist and the appropriate pharmaceuticals can make things much better.
+ Show Spoiler +Just be prepared - there's no magic pill, and the solution isn't going to be quick. It takes some time, even for anti-depressants, to begin working. It's like being dug into a hole - you can't get out until you decide you want to climb out of it, and you can't just jump out of it either. It's a climb, and it's not easy, but at the end you can get out of the hole and move forward.

Depression isn't the only disease where you know the treatment and don't want to do it. There are lots of things like that. Addiction is one easy example.
I know that's not the point, but jus sayin.

Honestly, I would try to stay away from anti depressants if you can. I was on them for a bit in high school, and I feel like they have permantly fucked up my brain in some way. I ha e never felt the same after taking them. Makes you a zombie.

That sounds pretty rough, keep fighting! As you said, if you aren't able to control it, seeking help is a good option and I recommend it 100%. You can also try to call one of the distress centre lines if they exist in the area around where you are living if you want to talk to someone and want it to stay confidential. I'm sure you can do it! Best of luck!

No shame in seeking help. At one point I was seeing a therapist once a week! Really helped with my depression but it only helps if you let it. Now I still go see my therapist once a month or so just to check in, but I'm doing much better now. GL mate and feel free to chat with me if you feel you need it!

If go see a doctor and he/she says meds are the answer, I'm willing to try them, but I dont want them to be the first thing I try.

Sometimes you need the meds to get back to a certain point. But I don't think meds alone are a proper course of treatment the majority of the time.
