Would you rather fight a crocodile in a bumper car or a 8 foot baby having a temper tantrum? The crocodile is a 7 foot Harvard-educated saltwater crocodile with a verified driver's license.
Tell us why in two paragraphs, flaunt knowledge of biology as it relates to Starcraft.

I don't know any biology, but...
If we convert the units into Starcraft terms, a baby is roughly the same size as a zergling and approximately the same shape as a marine (although softer, and we need to consider this), with an attack nearly as good as a drone (hands instead of claws). We can assume that it has 0 armor, and with the other stats available it should have about 20 health (again, softer than a marine), 3-4 damage, and a very fast movement speed.
Meanwhile, the crocodile has very tough armor, comparable to a marauder piloting a hellion, and a somewhat average movement speed due to the bumper car. I'm not entirely sure what it's attack would be, but it could either attack me with the bumper car or its teeth. Both would be a melee attack, similar to the baby. The bumper car attack would probably be less damage than an SCV since it's less sharp, but the teeth are comparable to a zergling. It's health would be pretty high, maybe nearly 100. Clearly, the crocodile stats are better than the baby stats with comparable damage and much higher health, so I'd go for the baby.

When I travelled towards the sacred lands of Liquid as a young child I saw a market in one of the villages. As I drew closer to a tent, where exotic and interesting items were sold, I saw a warrior of Liquid haggling with one of the merchants about a strange item. It had a shape I had never seen before, while otherwise being unable to describe. I soon learned that it was a "post", and that the old soldier was interrogating, not bargaining. Frozen to the spot as the merchant grew increasingly nervous, I watched in fascination as the warrior shook his head slowly, and began to break down the tent.
Ever since, I have learned much about the posts, and have formed many myself. The quality and beauty of them is something I find precious in everything I create, but even so I mourn those that are inferior with a feeling of great loss.
how exactly do SetGuitarsToKill and you feel about each other?
I don't know how he feels about me. He is a very fine person that's capable of great things, but without proper motivation and a perfect situation to handle (mainly SC2 not being as popular) it might be more difficult for him than it should be. Right now, I trust him with most not-secret stuff.
you have 40k+ posts, could you stop being antisocial and make some irl friends?
I have two friends IRL, and they know that I spend a lot of time on here, but they're OK with it. I'd rather not make friends that drive me away from TL. I like being here and it would indicate that they're trying to change who I am.
I try to be as social as possible whenever I go somewhere, even going so far as to not browse TL while listening.

I considered this for a while. I would be killed with a spoon, because it's not only likely to be quicker (assuming the blow kills me and not infection/blood loss or something similar), but also less morbid to other people. On the other hand, I would kill with the rats, as I wouldn't be actually killing anyone myself.

On May 17 2015 20:05 Cricketer12 wrote: What would you do if scarlett and taeja entered in a bo99 and scarlett won 50-0
1. Denial and Isolation
The first reaction to learning of the overwhelming defeat of a cherished loved one such as TaeJa is to deny the reality of the situation. Initially I would reverse the situation. There was no way he could even drop a map! It is a normal reaction to rationalize overwhelming emotions. It is a defense mechanism that buffers the immediate shock and prevents me from quitting Starcraft. I block out the actual games and hide from the facts. This is a temporary response that carries us through the first wave of pain.
2. Anger
As the masking effects of denial and isolation begin to wear, reality and its pain re-emerge. I am not ready for TaeJa to retire; the intense emotion is deflected from my vulnerable cybernetics core, redirected and expressed instead as anger. Feedback is a danger in this stage. The anger may be aimed at inanimate objects such as pylons, complete strangers, mutalisks, friends or family. Anger may be directed at our dying or deceased loved TaeJa for giving up after Blizzcon. Rationally, I know that TaeJa is not to be blamed. Emotionally, however, I may resent the person for causing me pain or for leaving me. I feel guilty for being angry, and this makes me more angry.
Remember, grieving is a personal process that has no time limit, nor one “right” way to do it. The progamer who diagnosed the loss and was unable to cure the retirement might become a convenient target for battlecruiser rushes. Starcraft professionals deal with command center deaths and units dying every day. That does not make them immune to the suffering of their fans or to those who grieve for them.
I will not hesitate to ask my doctor to give me extra time or to explain just once more the details of your loved one’s retirement. I might arrange a special appointment or ask that he telephone me at the end of his day for build order advice. Additionally, asking for clear answers to any questions regarding upgrades and researches I might have will benefit my timing attacks greatly. I understand the options available to me, and will take my time.
3. Bargaining
The normal reaction to feelings of helplessness and vulnerability is often a need to regain control–
If only TaeJa had retired sooner or never lost motivation… If only I got a second opinion from professional player… If only I had tried to be a better fan toward them… Secretly, I may have tried to make a deal with Flash or another higher power such as Mvp in an attempt to postpone the inevitable. This is a weaker line of defense to protect me from the painful reality.
4. Depression
Two types of depression are associated with Starcraft mourning. The first one is a reaction to practical implications relating to the loss. Sadness and regret predominate this type of depression, amplified by stuchiu talking about evil all the time. I worry about TaeJa's tax costs on prize money. I worry that, in my grief, I have spent less time with others that depend on my battle reports and LRs. This phase may be eased by simple clarification and reassurance. I might need a bit of helpful cooperation and a few kind words about TaeJa's career. The second type of depression is more subtle and, in a sense, perhaps more private, like progamers practicing. It is my quiet preparation to separate and to bid my loved one farewell. Sometimes all I really need is a zergling hug.
Reaching this stage of Starcraft mourning is a gift not afforded to everyone. Loss of passion may be sudden and unexpected or I may never see beyond my anger or denial of ESPORTS. It is not necessarily a mark of bravery to resist the inevitable and to deny myself the opportunity to make my peace with imbalanced races such as Zerg, which has all that fucking creep spread and mutalisks. This phase is marked by withdrawal and calm, in addition to leaving the game TaeJa-GG style. This is not a period of happiness and must be distinguished from depression.
Loved progamers that are close to retirement or otherwise aging appear to go through a final tournament on their way to the military. This is by no means a suggestion that they are aware of their own impending retirement or such, only that physical decline may be sufficient to produce a similar response. Their behavior implies that it is natural to reach a stage at which Starcraft interaction is limited. The dignity and grace shown by our soon-gone loved players may well be their last gift to us.
Coping with loss is a ultimately a deeply personal and singular experience — nobody can help me go through it more easily or understand all the emotions that I'm going through. But others can be there for me and help comfort me through this difficult process. The best thing I can do is to allow myself to feel the TaeJa vs Scarlett grief as it comes over me. Resisting it only will prolong the natural process of healing.

That's theoretically ~110 posts. Here's an example of this, although the numbers are slightly different. If you do three of these per week and otherwise post normally, you can easily get 400 posts per week, or over 20k in one year. I also got over 4400 posts from the WCS Global Finals/Blizzcon tournament threads last year, although that's a one-time thing that technically falls under spamming.
I also picked up a reasonable number of posts by participating in Custom Maps and SC2 General threads, although not nearly as many.

I have never actually been in Russia before. But my spirit is there, and my spirit loves Russia.
How do you feel about the generations of oppression the Russian people have brought about on the Ukranians and what do you think they did with all the stolen Ukranian potatoes?

You might rethink "loving" Russia if you are unwilling to face the reality of its actions, as it may make you look a little foolish. Honestly, the "Russian federation" you keep as your home country used to make me a little reserved to anything you write (and I probably have read a lot of your posts, as that is a thing that is very difficult to avoid for anyone who likes SC2 on TL). Yes, this is prejudiced and "wrong" according to most people, but I don't feel anyhow obliged to change my thoughts to satisfy other people. (And yes, I have met some very fine Russian people, but I know from those very people that they are an extreme exception in their country.)

Whatever, I think you are free to make jokes about anything, as I am not a big fan of the concept of "offended people". On the other hand, I am just gently suggesting that this particular line of humour may cost you points upfront with some people. That said, it's feasible to imagine that you don't care about such people's opinions anyway, so there is not much lost for you. Also I am of the opinion that any person at the age of 18 would benefit from trying to learn about the world in general, including "politics and international history" (obviously not from the biased opinions of TL posters).

I don't really know how moba characters work, but... My regular attack would probably be a high fire rate, low damage missile and my movement speed would be somewhat low, although I would probably have high health. Ability 1: Fire a missile, single target, that deals a large amount of damage. Ability 2: Fire missile pods, which deals a smaller amount of damage (more against minions), in a large area. Ability 3: Produce a shield which absorbs damage. Ult: Teleport anywhere on the map.

Reddit has some very weird people. It is afaik the most popular site for current events, sort of like TL is for SC.
r/starcraft has some pretty clear trolls and more negative people, but like TL I wish it had more people so I'd feel better.

The Germans popularized the sitting method for peeing during World War II, which was regarded as one of the most brilliant military tactics at the time. This was soon to be known as Das Sitzenpee tacticz. Against most European forces, the Germans were able to do just fine peeing standing, however when the Americans joined the war, everything changed. American soldiers were very rich since the economy was doing well at the time, so they were able to purchase AWP every round. American snipers would AWP through the wall in the German washrooms where a German soldier would typically stand in front of the toilet to pee. A lot of rounds because of this. After this, the Germans would sit down while peeing. When the Americans tried to AWP through the wall, it wouldn't hit anybody, and it would also reveal their position to the Germans, and the Germans were able to quickly rotate. Today, people in Germany would sit while peeing as a tribute to the brilliant war tactics that almost won them the World War II championships.

I was vaguely amused right until the end, when I actually laughed at the "championships" bit. Nice
