I've hit 100 games since I started more focused practicing. Prior to this, I had only seen positive MMR trends. That was bound to change, and it did. I went from trending around 4900 to pretty quickly hitting 4725ish after I made some dumb decisions.
I really love using fast units like LBM or just pure LB. I tried to switch to playing much more standard RR and Hydra Lurker and it did not work out too well without practicing the builds first. I don't know why I played so many games in a row, it was really stupid and it wasted a good 15 games or so on something that was fairly useless in terms of practice.
After I switched back to playing my LB/LBM builds, I gained the MMR back almost instantly which was a relief. But I still wasted a good portion of my practice time which was very disappointing. Now that I've become accustomed to more consistent ladder, I'm ready to step it up a notch. I would like to play more and completely get rid of the hesitation I still sometimes have about queuing up. There's no reason I can't play 10 games a day; I waste a lot of time playing unranked "to warm up" and just browsing reddit, something that never leaves with a feeling of "Wow, I accomplished something today!".
In addition, my OSC participation has been really shitty, down 4 tournaments from first place, and I'd like to improve that. I had a really good routine going in the first half; I'd like to get back in my rhythm and take back the #1 spot.
Goals for next 100 games:
Hit 4925-4975 consistently (was 4850-4900 this time, did not meet the goal from last time but for a pretty obvious reason already explained above)
Find a benchmark ZvT build that I can work on (I have one for ZvP/ZvZ, but ZvT I would like to have a more consistent plan)
Participate in all but 1 OSC tournaments that are available in my timezone/region
Goal update from first post:
For the first month, I've hit the 4825 MMR goal I had set for myself. Let's see if I can get the 4950 MMR goal by mid-October to stay on schedule.
