To set up a scenario, when playing TvP, after a siege expanding or an FD, and then the DT's run into mines, or the shuttle gets shot down on its way in or does nearly no damage, and you're on 2 facts, adding a 3rd or 4th, have about 3-5 tanks depending on how late it is.
Now, assuming you're building your 3rd and 4th fact, have mines and siege researched, should you immediatly throw down an acad and armory, switch to pure vult production until you get 8 or so, and two goliaths, and then push with 5-7 tanks, 8+ vults, and 2 gols, with rallied vult reinforcements? What I'm asking is, when their build fails (DT's or Reaver), when do you push? Just a guideline is really all I'd like. Is it okay to just grab your 3rd and turtle up and play a macro game, and then do a push later, or maybe add 2 more facts immediatly and go for a 6 fact timing push? Is it better to just pump vults as soon as it fails and go for the push right there to end it? Assuming that it depends on whats happend in the game, how much damage your FD did, if he expands our double expands as he starts harass, etc. What should you look out for that will trigger your push faster?
Thanks all~

Last time I checked, this kinda stuff was suppose to be in the strategy, not the blog section.

Acad can't hurt... alot of toss hit the panick button (dt) when they think they're about to get attacked by an overwhelming force... but anyway it really depends what the toss is doing, of course the standard rules apply, if he tries to sneak an expo to catch up, punish him, and if he goes all-in with some mass gating + speedzeal + upgrade then i dont see what's wrong with taking ur third with some mines/supply blocking til u bust out later.

if you fuck it up you're gonna die, you need to have very good push control
otherwise you can just lol and expand again, they cant do shit about it and you win 10 minutes later

things you should look for to trigger a faster push:
is his dt/reaver drop a replacement for gateway units while he takes 4 bases asap? if yes, go kick the shit out of him
is his dt/reaver drop merely a harassment technique while he maintains fairly normal gateway production and a less greedy rate of expansion? if yes, don't go attack him, cuz he'll have goons and the next round of dt/reaver will fuck your push up if you arent careful. THEN YOU DEAD CUZ YOU AINT GOT A THIRD

I try to do my best to give chill a break and keep threads that aren't in depth enough to warrent a true strategy thread in the blog section. But thanks for your concern.

You should add academy, dts can really screw it up, even if the drop fails, if you set a mine in the wrong spot while containg him or w/e, it really sucks.
