Well, I've been having a lot of problems lately, it started in college, im 2nd year right know, or am I? Anyway, it says in our school handbook that If one fails 18 units or more, your kicked, out, sadly, I failed 15, but the good news is, It resets every year, hard to explain. But, 1 of my professors, didn't submit the grade of 1 of my class to the registrar, and according to the rules, that is an automatic 0.0 (failing grade) if the registrar didn't recieve a grade. So the whole class suddenly panics, even I panicked when we found out about this problem. the thing is, that class is worth 3 units, so if i fail that class, which I didn't, I get 18 failed units, and I get kicked out..
So, I'm asking for advice, since, yesterday was the last day, for changing of grade, I can't really do anything about it. Should I go to school, and DEMAND to fix my grade (sadly I dont have money, and my parents are away at the moment so I can't go there.) Wait for the prof secretary to fix it (since my classmate contacted the prof, and the secretary is fixing it, but it isn't reliable) or just commit suicide???
Any other advice would be nice..
Note: My parents dont know about this, and they dont know I failed that many units already.

YEAH! YOUR PROF IS A DICK ABOUT NOT SUBMITTING YOUR GRADE!
Well the thing is that everyone's grade was not submitted. I thinking telling your parents about how your professor didn't send the grades of the whole class would put some sense to them.
Hmm, would you know if your class is the only class he fucked up? Because if he fucked up the other classes then you would have a whole lot reason not to fail because your prof basically screwed everyone else.
|
Your professor is dumb, and I wouldn't worry about it.
Talk to the registrar and tell them your professor didn't submit the grade and that the grades will be submitted. It's not your fault, and you won't suffer for it unless your university is dumber than your professor.
So...to reiterate, talk to your registrar, make sure your professor gets off his ass and does what he gets paid to do, don't worry about it anymore, and don't fail any more classes this year.
|
it'll be fine, don't demand anything or piss anyone off.
- I recommend keeping in touch with the class and seeing what they do.
definitely this -
don't fail any more classes this year.

Now I'm so tempted to crack some jokes, I know where ReCharge is studying.:p
Anyway, I bet you're not the only one going to the registrar for this problem, maybe if you go there the register is like.. "Oh another student of that fucktard professor."
Maybe you're prof does this every year...dang he should get fired for this one.

He went to migrate, which is the problem, so he can't give the grade ~_~
DLSU-M is the university.

if you care this much, why did you let yourself fail so many classes

There's only one La Salle where you can take college right?
Anyway, if the fucktard migrated, what the fuck happened to the grades of your classmates? Oh shit all of you are going to fail?? Jeez the university better get some sense into them and see that a handful of students are gonna fail because of a prof who didn't submit their grades...wtf.
Well I actually know a prof that was responsible for failing around 30 students, and it was all legit, like his tests were fucking hard.

Well, I got a lot of problems, school, girls, family, mostly family, and health, I get sick a lot, I get very ill which is why I fail so much, + MOST of our teachers are dicks.

You forgot StarCraft and flaming people.
Anyway, La Salle is fast paced right? And dang I can't blame if you get sick, because if you go out of school the first thing you see is smoke from cars, smokers, and the ones doing drugs or smth.....plus your classrooms are air conditioned, so it's hella easy to spread viruses there....and the corridors too, they're like only 4 people can pass shoulder to shoulder.....
and profs, I doubt there's anything you can do about it. Now I feel so lucky for not having crazy professors...

If you are doing this bad I would suggest you take some time off of college and decide what you really want to do with your life. Clearly your current path is not satisfying you.

Lol if professors have such poor pass rates its generally because they suck at teaching the material.
If you make your tests super hard you have to make sure your students are prepared to take it, otherwise you kinda fail as a professor.

Uhm yeah, just last semester, my math prof didn't have difficult long tests (because the make their long tests) so most of us were acing his long tests, but the quizzes really screwed us. I was supposed to get exempted from the finals but the quizzed really screwed me over. And fuck, when the final exam came, I was like wtf man, because I was accustomed to easy tests...T_T
and yeah ReCharge, if your prof didn't give hard tests, and if you feel that you deserve to pass, no need to fret. Jeez you failed without any legit reason. If you failed hard then yeah that's legit, but if you failed because he's a dick, you don't deserve to get kicked out.

Professor suck, most of them at least.
@ mastermind, yah I guess Im still not sure what I want in life..

Maybe take a year off? Do soul searching or something.

Retarded comment. You have no idea what circumstances led to him or her failing x amount of classes. If we would have the knowledge and capability of passing everything at first try, then why the hell would we be going to school in the first place? Just write something useful or be silent instead of trying to leech post count, or whatever, with dumb remarks.
edit: Specially when its bluntantly obvious that he would pass this year if some professor wouldn't screw up and don't do his job.

To get a degree in order to get a good job. Thats why people go to university. I'd say its a safe bet that the college isn't stupid and will fix the mistake when they realize the situation and circumstances around it but rather you if you fail 15 credits worth of classes in one year. =\
o/ H!

If you're failing so many classes I think you should be worried about more than just that class.

Freshman and Sophomores don't fail all their classes unless they're not going to class. H is right, but if those are the rules the OP shouldn't get kicked out yet.
My recommendation is to figure out what you actually want out of college and make sure your education actually means something to you. Also, if you're going to fail like that in the future, just drop the class.

My freshman year I failed several classes by being a lazy punk. I took a few years off, grew up a little, decided that life in America without college sucks, and now I'm back with a 4.0.
Don't waste your time screwing your GPA and the rest of your life over if college isn't where you want/need to be at the moment. Come back later when your head is screwed on straight.

Why do you have to pay if it's your professors fault? And what school do you go to
|
my my my what do we have here?? correct me if i'm wrong but you sound rather green...
ive actually never heard of that rule of automatic failure but you really should appeal that decision...i hate to break the news to you buddy (unless of course my assumption of what university you're going to is completely wrong) but back in the day i'm pretty sure that if you failed 15 units in a tri-sem once you hit 2nd year, you'd get kicked out..and yes i didn't get it mixed up with the 18 failed units/school year.
so my advice is to PRIORITIZE and try staying healthy

Your comment is fail.
15 credits at 3 credits per class means he failed 5 classes. He said that the score is reset every year. Most people only take about 4 classes per term. If he's taking more than 4, then he's being stupid about how much he takes because he clearly cannot handle it.
To have failed 5 classes in a year, he's either not trying hard enough on his studies or he's very badly in over his head (to such a degree that he should question whether college is the right place for him). I've only once or twice met someone in the latter situation, so I am willing to bet on the former. Either way, he's wasting his parents' money.
The only reasonable excuse is extreme health related issues, and if that's the case, then he can petition the dean of students. But if that were the case, he probably would have told us that it was, and he can probably get a doctor's note that will verify the predicament he was in.
It's true that this professor in question fucked up big time, but when you're doing that badly to begin with, it's not exactly like one more F is going to wreck your GPA. -_-;;

Yeah he's from La Salle, and when you said Prioritize, that means less StarCraft right?

you're starting to sound rather blue yourself and you can never play too much starcraft just study more lol

buddy that's how it works...first year of college you get 18 units total for the year as well as 18 for the trimester so if you happen to achieve either of those you're out...that changes in your second year where you can only screw up 15 units per trisem but still 18 for the year...but yeah you're right, looks like he's talking about total for the year and not in one trisem...i read differently, my bad

just wait for it to fix itself.. chill out man it's summer time!
go out and have some fun ^^
im sure it'll all work out
|
Thanks everyone, well it's been a day since the prof's secretary visited the school, im not sure if it got fixed or not, since im "kicked" cuz of that irresponsible prof, i can't log in to the school's website and check if the grade is fixed, and yah, i get sick often, and maybe i played too much starcraft, but I recall studying a lot too, maybe I just got a bit irresponsible with my study. But still, if I can't log in to the school's website, I might get very worried...
@Skylark Don't worry I didn't commit suicide or anything.
|
don't leave things to chance eh?? if it doesn't work out now, you can always try next trisem...im sure you'll be able to work something out with the prof
|
Damn, 2 days already, and I still can't log in to the school site, they must not have accepted the grades, this is really getting me worried ( what should I do?? I can't go to school, Im in the province right now
