So with an impressive record of 46 - 105 I have finally reached D+. The only reason I was able to get to D+ is because I decided to start practicing PvT since I was getting bored of playing PvP all the time. The only build that I have been playing is the 10/15 rush and I really like this build because of how aggressive it is. I like to constantly keep the Terran at bay so that they can never get too big as I expand. Usually, if I let the Terran macro up I will usually lose. I'm not very good as sizing up the Terran push compared to my units. Many times I have have my units in thinking I can take the push and then just end up getting totally destroyed. I guess this just comes with game sense.
I set up an alt account since I wanted to see how long it would take me to get to D+ again by playing PvP and PvT, not focusing on just one matchup. Currently I am
28.6% (2-5) in PvP and 52.9% (9-8) in PvT. I think its safe to assume that my PvP is around D while my PvT is just barely D+. Overall in my alt account I am 1672 with 11 wins and 14 losses. This isn't alot better then when I first started playing iCCup before the season changed but I know for a fact that I am better. If not for game knowledge then its just because my APM has doubled from when I first started playing. Also, I am finding that most of the games I lose are against C- or C players who have reset their stats or are still climbing the ranks. To be honest I have not been watching my replays, I have just been mass gaming on iCCup and I can usually pick out my flaws after I lose. Example: For some reason I have been teching up to DTs before I get my robotics in PvP. This is more risky, and I am finding that in order to do this more safely I must invest in a forge so I can get cannons to spot my opponents DTs. Like I said, I lost to DTs three or four times for me to realize this but I find this forceful way of learning to be more enjoyable.
On a side note I have played some games with people who have said that they have read this blog, which is pretty cool. Oh, and if for some reason somebody wants to know my alt account it is flow.of.sou1.
Edit: I just hit D+ again on my alt account with a record of 14 wins and 16 losses which is a winning rate of 47%. Now I must start learning PvZ... Damn I really don't want to memorize fast expand simcity layouts. I would go learn some older builds but from what I understand all older builds before Bisu suck.
