Oh hi! I know I made a blog a while ago about moving to OK. You can read it here: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=99214
Well, right now it's just very very depressing. 17 years ago when we owned this house (I was too young to remember any of it) it was very beautiful, but after being rented out for 15 years, oh god. It's seriously been left as a rat hole. The carpets need to be pulled, front door needs replaced (back door needs a new lock) storm cellar is trashed, along with the tool shed in the back. Our peach trees were cut down, all the rooms need re-painting, half the knobs on the cabinets are missing, tiles are missing from the floor, and someone hit the front of the house with a fucking SUV, which cracked the self on the other side of the wall, and caused a fuckton of water damage and bugs.
So yeah, the housing sitation will take ALOT of time and ALOT of money to repair, but that will come in time. The town itself seems okay, and I still have to get used to the accents because I keep giggling when I talk to the locals ^^. Oh and I am a big OU Sooners fan so that's good for me, looking forward to hanging out with neighbors to watch the games. Nobody where I lived in NY gave a fuck about football, though, so I kind of grew distant from the scene.
Probably next week I'll talk to the commissary people on base to see about getting my old job back, I just don't want to do that yet, because I have alot of work to help out my parents with at the house :[
And yeah, the heat doesn't really bother me because it's not very humid (another big difference from NY). The problem being that I have to do house remodeling with no electricity (AC/Fan), on the bright side there's no gas either so cold showers aren't a problem. My mom and I are at my cousin Dusty's house visiting, which is why I am on the intertubes. They are getting stuff to cook for dinner tonight and I'm catching up with my inner nerd.
Good times.
EDIT: Rofl, I just realized that I didn't even include the link to my last blog where I said I would :3Last edit: 2009-08-10 09:36:11

I'm not sure about that, but I know we are going to rape them for the SUV damage. They claimed it was just rain damage. Well no fucking shit, because you destroyed the exterior and rain damage ate away everything you didn't fix yourself.
As far as the rest of the damages, I really don't know what we can get out of that :[ |

I really enjoy living in Oklahoma, especially in Norman. What part of Oklahoma did you move to?
