As of right now I depart for Blizzcon in less than 48 hours. I'm roadtripping from Michigan with Khaymus, a TL dweller, and two other non-TL buddies. 36 hours each way.
This is my third Blizzcon (I didn't get tickets in 2008), and I'm fucking pumped despite the fact I'm not bringing an SC costume this time. =( For those of you who don't know, I was the Marine at Blizzcon 05, and the Ghost at Blizzcon 07. (I may have met/talked to some of you at 05 or 07, but at the time I had only KNOWN of TL and visited here every once in a great while.)
Pictures of me from Blizzcon 05/07

Painfully nerdy, yes, but they're awesome, plus I got some fantastically good loot out of the deal. Alienware PC + Alienware Laptop valued at around 4k each, which I proceeded to instantly sell. I wanted to make a really badass Zergling costume in 08, but didn't have the time to do it, and I ended up not getting tickets anyway. Didn't have the time to tackle it this year, either. =(!
The thing I'm really looking forward to this year is MEETING PEOPLE, for I didn't really belong to any sort of community back in 05/07. So regardless of if you lurk or I know you, if you see me....

.... Be sure to throw me a "Hey Miki!"
I look forward to meeting many of you, and hopefully I'll remember to take lots of pictures for a post-Blizzcon blog for everyone who couldn't make it.
Thanks for reading.

| lol, yeah Vex, the eyes do look pretty scary when viewed that way, lol. I'm prettymuch dying and miserable in every picture of that Marine costume. I've never sweated so much in my life, haha, and I used to be able to run like 4-5 miles. I nearly passed out! Luckily Chris Metzen from Blizzard came to the rescue and stole me like $25 of food and drink from the food court to keep me alive. Last edit: 2009-08-17 20:49:28 |

The initial one ended up in a dumpster in California, the second one is in my garage, haha.
The reasoning for the marine one going into the dumpster being that the car topper in which we brought the thing in BROKE and we had no way to transport it back. We actually had to drive the last 6 hours TO California with the thing in the car. It took up 80% of the back seat, and we had 4 people. It's a shame we didn't have any way to get it back, but it would have just been too much to ship or buy another topper thing, not to mention we had no idea where anything in Anaheim was anyway.
To this day I regret not at least keeping one of the shoulderpads. I'm not really sure either of them would be quite sellable, for they weren't exactly the most durable things in the world. They were just too damn big of an undertaking, and it's not like we had the ability to weld or machine parts that would hold up well. Last edit: 2009-08-18 12:07:35 |

wow dude, what a regret to have. I mean you could have at least donated it to blizzard or something. Shit might have been in their museum.Last edit: 2009-08-18 16:22:58 |
