I used to love this game. I think I played on the Fortress setting a lot and would just defend up and get my eco up. Then I'd mass of course and make that Castle and get my ultimate unit.

AoE2 the conquerors was teh awesome back in the day lol. but now after playing a little competitive sc it's SO SLOW. huge macro fest
still sounds fun, if only for nostalgia's sake. are there any good competitive aoe2tq sites out there still? |

| haha ive actually been playing aoe2: conq recently. it's a lot of fun rushing calvary archers or knights in the castle age and your opponent is like WTF because everyone goes for econ it seems. late game can be annoying though because it's all about who gets the better trebuchet/castle position |

I've actually heard this quite a bit before, and in a sense it's true, seeing as early-game cheese potential is much lower (fast barracks->militia? lol). However, what a lot of these players don't realize is that pass the D- level, players are just as good at going 200/200 and 1a2a3a-ing you as they are at 5-pooling you.Last edit: 2009-08-28 07:11:03 |

AoE would've been more successful if you didn't have to mine gold, bricks, sand, dirt, water, fish, meat, berries, fruits, wood, shit, beans, tobacco, plastic, metal, bone, weed, rocks, boulders, copper, brass, cement, styrofoam, glass, gasoline, etc.
But it's an excellent past time whatsoever, last time I played the game lasted around 3 hours. Rofl. |

| The big thing that you will have (Even at like D rank) is far superior macro. Whenever I play my friends have like 10 farms, 10 guys getting lumber, a few on gold and stone all in the end game.
