Good you guys recommend me any good books that are able to explain micro/macroeconomic concepts very clearly, and can serve as alternatives to reading boring unclear textbooks?

The problem with doing this is that most books written on economics that aren't textbooks have a definite slant to them and unless you understand what that slant is and can clearly and easily see past it, you are liable to receive a great deal of misinformation.
Even textbooks can have biases, but it's usually not as bad (and in general, the more mathematically driven the book, the less bias you will find -- usually). |

| No book can be a substitiute for a class lecture by a passionate proffessor, who's really good in his field. If you really want to learn economics that is. If you just want to have some fun reading, read freakonomics or something. |

| Some people I know recommend New Ideas from Dead Economists, but I haven't read it myself. |

| I'm aware of all the flaws that come with this request, but I'm looking for books that explain economic principles, and I don't care if there is bias, as long as I can understand it I'm fine. Last edit: 2009-11-01 05:56:28 |

| You could try "principles of economics" by mankiw. it's still a textbook but really easy to understand and doesn't read much like a textbook. |

N. Gregory Mankiw (2006). Principles of Economics, 4th Edition. South-Western College Pub. ISBN 0324224729.
This is a book that we are using. It's "textbook" but it's kinda fun to learn from it. I can definitely recommend it, every concept is discussed clearly without any confusionLast edit: 2009-11-01 09:40:05 |
