But we don't have the same passion for the old hardcore classic games as our fathers maybe did, because it was a game that was born with them and died with them, likewise it will be the case with the kids that were born a couple years ago and will be playing this Star Craft 2 game while wondering how the first one must have been like.
It will die with us and we'll carry it in our hearts forever and there's nothing nobody can do to take the privilege of one day at our 80's or 90's to pop up that dusty old box open and install the good old 90's Star Craft: Brood War game, while maybe shedding a tear or two as the nostalgia fills up our hearts during that lonely sunset in which we chose to isolate ourselves from the rest of the world, to be with our good old buddy once again, remembering those moments in which we laughed together once upon a time.
But time goes on and I hope SC2 can truly bring this type of feelings to the new generation of kids whom at the age of 8 or 9 will be playing the game and maybe grow with it. But rest assured that I'm so damn proud to have been born near the precious 90's to get to meet this diamond.

I dont know why are you all panicking. Its still beta, so we can sure that SCII: Wings of Liberty won't be out before summer. The other thing that important for me is that i will most likely start playing SCII when the last expansion comes out. So I have 3 more years to enjoy SC1.
EDIT: don't tell me that they won't change multiplayer at all????? OH MY GOD IM FUCKED!!!!Last edit: 2010-02-23 00:17:58 |

Yeah, and after we reminisce on the past over a glass of fine champagne, we will explain to our kids that nothing, not even the end of time will bring an end to our Starcraft 1... and that when the last man in the Universe finally fades into oblivion, his collective unconscious will be engraved with a few essential items from throughout history, Pyramids, Great wall of China, Hitler, Communism, and Starcraft.
And afterwards of course, we'll all have to pee from imbibing so much alcohol, and it's then that EsX_Raptor gets his dick wet.Last edit: 2010-02-23 04:55:09 |

THIS you will be telling your kids about this game in the times of virtual FPS games and voice-controled RTS games.
never forget. hopefully sc2 is the future |

I think you have no idea. 90% of the players on Iccup are Koreans and i really don't think they will stop to play bw altogether so i don't know why Iccup would stop to support sc.
Oh wait i see you are the new glaucus.Last edit: 2010-02-23 06:38:37 |

| I look forward to the day when Starcraft is the forum under General and the rest of the site is devoted to Starcraft 2. |

I really wish that SC2 coulda been delayed for another year so that I could practice more and get better. Even some clan-mates stopped playing and went inactive not to go play sc2 but because they think sc2 is not worth it so they quit. sad face.
Damn this is sooo what was on my mind . My goal was B- without forcing myself with more than 1-2 games a day . Allmost had it but I feel after many ppl go to sc2 the B- achievement won't mean as much to me as it would now .I made it to C+ this season and my acc got banned for I don't have any idea what reasons . Now its too late to get to B- with my win rate and by next season too many ppl will have gone to sc2 . |

that made no sense lmao
personally i hope starcraft 2 succeeds as the greatest RTS of all time and the cycle starts all over again. only been playing broodwar for about a year now but i've looked into the history it's some pretty deep stuff. |

personally sort of lost interest in BW over the past few months..havent even logged onto sc in like 2-3 weeks or laddered for that matter.
my fondest memory was when a group of friends and me would play 4v4 vs computers and they would be long 3-4 hour games of 1 unit vs the comps..these were the fun times..once i got into it competitively and got wella bove their level they stopped playing and now i just sort of dont have any interest playing anymore.. |
