So a couple of days ago I decided to take a break from online and play a campaign mission to see how good I got.
And another mission.
And another mission.
And then a whole campaign back-to-front.
And then beating the vanilla terran campaign with only dropships and SCV's, which was actually pretty fun.
And then 4 vanilla Protoss missions using only photon cannons (1, 2, 3, 7)
Anyways, now I'm playing at least one mission of campaign a day, and I can't stop. The funny thing is, it's actually helping me online. I started using Scouts again, and they work. Why? I learned how to use them right.
Anyways, I'm running out of fuel, any suggestions on what to do and (eventually) how to quit the addiction?

| Beat it? With what? At this point I'm imposing heavy restrictions because just beating a mission won't bring me happiness. |

So how do you use scouts properly?

| Delete the single player part of the game... or use cheats to finish it. |

For PvP use it strictly air-to-air with Probe/Reaver/Zealot harassment if you can. The priorities go like this: 1. Kill the carriers. Always kill the carriers. Then, kill Arbiters, if there are any in the area. 2. Kill enemy Scouts and Corsairs. Most likely if P has any non-heavy air (Arbs and Carriers are heavy) then it will be Corsairs. And Scouts rape corsairs. 3. If you're doing harassment, and no Dragoons/Archons/HT's are around, and you don't have anything to fire your 28-damage missiles at, harass the probes. 4. Kill ground units like Reavers, then weaker ones like Zealots. 5. Support your army when attacking ground units that can hit air (goons). 5a. Support your army when attacking Photon cannons. So do 1, and when it's finished, move on to 2, and so on.
For PvZ it depends on what they have. Scouts are nice late-game when Z's turning his mutalisks into Guardians and Devourers. Don't replace sairs with scouts in the midgame, because scouts are slower and they can get scourged easily without that speed upgrade.
Also, don't pursue the speed upgrade because it will take a fuckton of minerals to get it and the Fleet Beacon.
Finally, scouts are good for overlord and drone harassment.
For PvT in the lategame usually he'll have dropships and vessels, so if you don't wanna outright go carriers, you can use scouts. Watch out for goliaths.

That's pretty much the basics. Then there's scout micro... |

i'm sorry kid, this is some of the worst advice i've ever read.
1. who goes carriers in a pvp? (modern day) 2. um, why the fuck would you have scouts and corsairs in a pvp?.. 3. if you're at a position where you can harass your enemy with a fucktun of scouts, the games already been won. 4. to get reavers and zealots? i think storm is more effective. 5. if you're supporting your "ground army" with scouts, you won't have much of a ground army. he'll just walk over yours with his superior ground force. a) dragoons + zealots>cannons
i don't feel like continuing.

I only played the campaign for the first time a few months ago. Played through a fair bit of it then just got impatient and used cheats for the rest I really couldn't be arsed to play it legit as I was doing it just so I could get up to speed on what happens storyline wise. Plus I had been used to the multiplayer, it just felt weird...the style of play you need to use is just completely different. To its credit it has some awesome cut-scenes though! |

Show this to the progamers in Korea. They never use scouts because they don't know how to use them. |

Legitimate progame uses of scouts I've seen include:
a) shooting down carriers (Bisu vs Much on Plasma) b) shooting down guardians when corsairs won't get the job done fast enough (Movie vs some zerg --- movie lost) c) that's it |

They do kill carriers nicely for sure.
...And thats a good reason not to make carriers. |

1. Carriers PvP - exceptionally rare. 2. Enemy Scouts/Corsairs?! Who the hell gets scouts or corsairs in PvP, unless they are like 8 ranks better than you or the game is already over anyway. 3. Sure, but just doing a storm drop is a ton cheaper, faster, and will get way more probe kills. 4. I guess lol, but storm is alot more effective to say the least. 5. If you have scouts with your ground army, your ground army will get runover because the supports from scouts against ground is pretty minimal. 5a. Scouts + Army < Pure Ground Army ( and 1 reaver > unlimited cannons.)

Uh, Arbiters > Scouts. And scouts + arbiters = no ground = die to goliaths with a few tanks.

and the sad thing about scouts is, the three units they really hard-counter (carriers, guardians, battlecruisers) are all not used versus protoss due to the fact that scouts own them so hard . |

| | See my profile for things I've written. Samsung's Shine has developed a sick new tactic called "Pick a building you don't want the other guy to have, right click it with everything you own, then run away" |

Actually, in long (30 mins. +) games of PvZ I've seen more than my fair share of guardians, and sometimes even Devourers at the D+ level. |
