Hey everybody. I feel like Teamliquid is my starcraft home and as such, have decided to set up basecamp for my YouTube channel now that I've hit 500 subs. I'll be posting the latest vids here as they hit the channel.
A bit about me..
I go by the handle Doa (pronounced doe-ah) and I've played RTSs since the original Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. I followed the Brood War pro scene pretty casually, but got really into SC2 during the beta. Being a married man with a career (and not being White Ra) I haven't been able to advance in skill at the game as much as I'd like. I have always been a fan of speaking (did radio for a while actually back in high school even!) and sportscasting and decided to try and contribute to the SC community by using my voice instead of my hands.
Simply put, I want to be the become one of the best commentators in the game. Do I ever expect to make money from this? Not really. I don't really need to. Will I ever be Day9? Doubtful! I just want to do my part to make this sport the best it can be in the west. If work hard enough at it I'm sure I'll be able to reach my goal of commentating large live events someday. This YouTube channel is the beginning of all that.
I hope you enjoy my casting! Please subscribe if you do and don't feel afraid to offer criticism (or compliments :D). Ideally you'll see me get better each game. I even started playing random to get a better sense of build orders and timings. (goodbye ladder ranking. heh)
Strategic insight (such a generic term, I know, but you get what I mean) was pretty limited but you have a really good style of casting and added to the game without being obtrusive. Subbed, but please work on your knowledge of the game a bit more (this is probably gonna come naturally just from playing the game / *hopefully* listening to day9 more ). Everything else is really good.

Morrow on ZvP: "I'm not very confident in general vs Protoss because of the imbalance (Yes its imbalanced, get over it)."

@ SubtleArt Yeah that's the plan. I never miss a Day9 and hopefully playing random will give me some better game sense. Starting out I wanted to focus primarily on the action and sort of put the analysis aside as I think it's better to have no strategic insight than wrong insight, but I've found that you just can't ignore it. So time to study up!
I cast, therefore I am.

Ugh. Casted a great game today... Felt awesome.. then I realized I never turned the game sound after playing last and my voice is barely audible... /sigh. Starting over...

new casts from the TL weekly #14 zerg replay pack. I'm sort of challenging myself to cast and upload all 4 TLO games in about a day. One more coming later today and the last should be up overnight tonight.
Saw one of your casts this morning. You do a good job. Keep at it! Re the strategic analysis content - of course you want to up this, but don't over extend yourself. By which I mean, better to have solid analysis than banal anyfoolcanseethat patter. Increase the depth as your knowledge of the game deepens. What you are doing now works.
Good work!
