Even without facing disease or the possibility of one, death is something I've always feared because I don't know what's beyond - another life or a void that simply cannot be comprehended by someone who's alive and experiencing the great (both good and terrible) things of this world.
I'm sure you've seen many tough and hardening experiences in your line of work. I can feel that you've really changed over the years as well, snet. I still remember some of the less mature things you've written both on TL/PGtour forums in the past, but I'm so happy for you that you've found something greater to look for in life. Continue the great work, man! |

| I am not afraid of death I think. It's just something I have thought about a lot. Not much is all that important so I just try to keep in a frame of mind where im going with things and enjoying whatever that is that's happening. No real need to get all wrapped up and attached. |

| I tell myself that I'm not afraid of death; rather, I'm afraid of losing the ability to think. In the end, I guess they're the same thing. |

i've always wondered what it'd be like to die, which leads me to wonder what it'd be like to not exist, to not think.

Same here. I'm not really scared of death because I know it's gonna come eventually, but I'd rather have it painless when the time comes.

| For me, what's scary about death comes from what could-be-but-won't. I might be me, but if I were to die tomorrow, what about the me 20 years from now? What about the family I could have raised, or the puppy I could have adopted? Lost possibilities are scary. |

This X1000.
A few years ago, thinking about eternity frightened me far more than thoughts of monsters or aliens.
The realization that you'd probably go insane straight away wasn't much of a reassurance ... |

sure you can. Just sleep. Absolute bliss and nothingness. Its like not existing. Thats how it would feel to not exist. To feel nothing. Though except when you wake up and dream.Last edit: 2010-11-07 17:23:49 |

If you think you know what it would be like not to exist, you are being foolish. |

To not exist means to feel nothing. Because there is nothing to feel. When I sleep I don't remember anything or feel anything the moment my eyes close unless I'm dreaming until I wake up. Thats exactly how not existing I think would be like. Like a slumber that you would never wake up from. I guess its not exactly accurate but its the closest I could think for how it would be to not exist. I never said I knew how it would feel to not exist. I just said what I think not existing would feel like. Absolutely nothing. Last edit: 2010-11-07 18:20:28 |
