Ok, so with Husky hitting 300,000 recently this may not seem that big of a deal to most people, but to me it is!
My YouTube channel hit 1,000 subscribers last night! I've been commentating for about 2 months now. (first VOD was uploaded 9/29 I think) I'm really psyched people are liking it since I enjoy doing it so much! I started commentating because I love the game and it's intricacies, but with a full-time job and a lovely wife I knew I would probably never get good enough to compete at a high-level. I also feel that this is the best thing I can do to help e-sports get bigger in the west. People at my workplace gave me weird looks when I explained what I was doing, but now they all watch my VODs! Hopefully my youtube channel is doing that on a larger scale. I really try to make my casting be as accessible as it can be for new/non-players while at the same time being entertaining for veteran players as well. This small milestone makes me feel like I'm starting to be able to do that.
I also feel super-blessed that this channel has given me to opportunity to start live-casting matches for theRushNetwork. Through my work with them I've gotten to be in games with some of my SC2 idols like Catz, Drewbie, Kawaiirice, etc (just to name a few)! It amazes me that in just two months I would go from watching vods of qxc to live-casting a match with qxc! (which I'm doing tonight!) :D
So basically I'm saying thank you to all the people that have watched and enjoyed my casts! Thanks also to JR from the Rush Network for working like a crazy man to get us awesome matches to cast! (If you haven't heard of the Rush network yet, you will. I promise.) Also a special thanks to Kawaiirice for not getting mad when I accidently called you Kiwikaki (twice) in an interview. I still feel like a moron because of that... /facepalm
So yeah, Thanks again! More great stuff coming on the channel and live with the Rush Network!

Oh btw, I'll be casting some Alert Cup round 4 matches tonight and tomorrow at 8pm EST. QXC's match will be first, followed by matches with either Gretorp or Drewbie... or both! Not sure who their opponents are because the brackets won't load at the moment...

Congratulations!
Getting subscribers is definitely hard when you aren't the first person on the block. I've been hovering around ~1280 for months without any real progression. On the other hand, I just broke 800 videos uploaded (Almost all of which are HD and in full length - the logistics for such a tremendous amount of files is quite painful).

Congratulations on 1k Subscribers, its a bigger milestone then one might think. For example there is probably over 1 million accounts on youtube, and I'd say about 5% of them have more than 1 subscriber and probably 0.1% have 1000.Congratulations man! |

I never really understood subscribing on youtube. I always just use RSS feeds if I like an uploader that much.
Congrats anyway! |
