I confess that I do not know how to appropriately capitalize titles. After reading some excellent battle reports doe by our wonderful die-hard BW forum members, I decided to do one of my own. But not one of the S-class legends, no. The best battle reports, as far as entertainment is concerned, are those involving us lowly D+ players, where games are so bad they're good!
So without further ado, I present, a typical PvT at the iCCup D level.
A normal PvT on Fighting Spirit... wait, is that... THE STOVE?! My Terran opponent is going for 3fac mass vultures O_O
Isn't that the exact counter against the Stove? This is going to get ugly! Witness one of the slowest units in the game, with the weakest air-to-ground attack, attempting to chase down and destroy the fastest unit in the game. Like a dumbass, I choose to use my hero scout on such useless endeavors rather than go for his base, which is guarded by ONE missile turret. WTF TURRET CONTAIN Y U TREAT MY SCOUT SO To successfully pull off the Stove, DTs are required! I once saw someone micro DTs in a way that allowed the DT to swipe at the mine just before it exploded. I CANNOT DO THAT, APPARENTLY. OH SHIIIIIIT After actually holding off that previous wave, I promptly suicide two surviving goons into a mine -_- In hindsight, building my robo fac at my nat was probably a bad idea. Also, did you know that goons without range will more often than not suicide themselves into mines, despite the fact that they can shoot at the mines from a safe distance? I know that now. 9:30 into the game, my Terran opponent is adding on a 4th factory for... MORE VULTURES! If this isn't the definition of all-in, I don't know what is.
Like a dumbass, I send out all my goons to clear out mines and turrets. Guess what happens? IT'S A TRAP T_T OMG OMG OMG OMG FUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
actually, the hero Zealot defuses the mine so no huge PROBE DAEBAKKKK for you today.
Almost 13 minutes into the game, and my opponent has finally decided to expand... using his CC as... a wall? At the top left?
Seems reasonable.
Due to shitty macro, I have 3k 1k in the bank despite having been harassed all game. In typical refugee toss philosophy, the goal is now to make cannons faster than he can shoot them down. GOGO 50 SECOND BUILD TIME I BELIEVEEEEEE 3 brave Dragoons challenge the lone T expo at the top left, guarded by an SCV and two supply depots.
UH OH. VULTURES COME TO RUIN THE FUN OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT RUNNING OUT OF ROOM FUCK YEAH. WHAT WOULD BISU DO? To be fair, he probably would have harassed the Terran to death with the Scout rather than suiciding it into a turret. 17 minutes into the game, the first tanks of the game... from FOUR MACHINE SHOPS. What a baller. Refugee toss expands faster than you can kill him.
Obviously, I am quite paranoid of vulture raids by this point.
Sending two control groups of goons to shoot down a useless Command Center, with absolutely no vision at his choke, not knowing where his army is, and when he might be moving out.
This is D level, all right
THE TWENTY MINUTE TERRAN IMBA BALL OF DEATHHHH
Unfortunately, the Arbiter never came into play, as this was his entire army...
I was never that far behind in th game, but I didn't know it at the time - I hadn't expected him to be THAT all-in. Suffice to say, I've gained some appreciation for how to goon micro, and that sometimes it really pays to just hold on. I was on the verge of giving up several times, because I had expected him to move out any time with 20 tanks or something.
I built the Scout, the DTs, and the Arbiter! Next time I'll try to actually *use* them
No fast arbiter? Not stove Looking forward to the ending though.
Sadly, no fast arbiter, since his dastardly plan forced me to go into survival mode. That said, I actually did get an arbiter towards the end, but I killed him when he tried to move out before it came into play.
Ahh funnytoss, the point of the stove is to go fast arbiter despite it being suicidal. That is why you force your opponent to counter both air and cloaked units before whipping em out.
Despite being the same level as you, i never get this low level players. Not even in "1v1 FS D-/E" games. My worst opponents are protoss players who 2gate me on outsider or FS (I was 2gated in FS cross positions and gates weren't even proxy. You can easily guess who won). Anyway, good game. Even though this is not the stove .

I'll definitely be writing more if I get interesting games - because of my typical playstyle, most of my games end up being pretty "standard". I've started screwing around a bit to see if that adds to the enjoyment of the game, and it definitely does, even though I lose more. It's interesting to see how a "non-standard" game plays out - for example, I had no idea that he could support that many units off of one base for so long.

I've met all sorts of players at D, people who are absolutely terrible and people you see with records that immediately make you suspicious about their actual rank. Same goes for D+, actually. At C- things start getting a bit more stable though sometimes you still see some pretty weird stuff.
Didn't the terran go Tornado terran ?
Nice battlereport
As far as I know, that's not "Tornado Terran", since he wasn't building a single tank and was relying completely on vultures and those ridiculous homing mini-nukes that they fart out.
