Once again, a great guide. I'm not sure if you covered it in your support blog, but perhaps you should consider adding basic ward spots like covering the rune/jungle entrance and such to your guide.
Edit: Oh yeah, your second video is copyright blocked in the US :<Last edit: 2011-11-06 01:42:55 |

@ the questions about jungling and trilaning. Trilaning is effective because when done right, the carry WILL get farmed (at least in the early laning phase ), but as described in the OP, the people supporting that carry suffer immensely. I personally believe that a jungle hero is almost always better (with the jungler being with 1 or 2 heroes in the lane) because you get nearly the same benefit without any of the sever consequences. Having a jungler that can gank is a HUGE threat to the enemy that they HAVE to address (by investing in wards and just always being aware of where the jungler is etc.) And I think the threat of the jungler can be just as effective and beneficial to a farming carry as two support heroes who sacrifice their gold/xp for the sake of his farm. |

I wish I had access to one of these kinds of guides when I first started playing ): I guess getting raged at is half the fun of learning dota though. I remember when I first started playing every game the lanes were set up 1-2-2 with top being the solo. Could not understand why that was not the optimal setup for the longest time. I also didn't know what the hell creep pulling was either until like 3 years after I started playing, when one of my teammates asked me to do it I just loitered around my tower, unsure of what to do but because I didn't want to be called a noob I didn't say anything. Lost so much exp that game D: Great guide! |

| Creep stacking is definitely one of the coolest mechanics in the game, imo. Nothing beats earning 1k gold in around a minute. Last edit: 2011-11-06 01:35:33 |

| Good guide, also the whole pulling to kill neutral creeps always seemed very tricky to me. Last edit: 2011-11-06 01:39:54 |

Great summary. Although some of the elements works the same way as in HoN or DotA, I caught a few details I did not know about. Especially pulling, that is something I could improve on. The videos was a great help.

It's worth noting that Roshan, like every other creep, get's stronger as time passes, and not just because of devotion aura.
As written in PlayDota.com:
Every 5 minutes (starting at first lane creep spawn) Roshan gets stronger, gaining: +500 hp, +10 damage and +0.5 armor (given by an aura). He will reach his maximum strength at the 45 minutes mark, which is:
HP: 12000 Ground attack - Damage: 155-155 (Chaos)(128 melee) Air attack - Damage: 280-288 (Chaos)(700) Armor: 8
Maybe a little more talk on creeps, damage types, native spell resistance, stats, etc. could be worth it. It's something that is never really explained in the game, and anyone that played Warcraft 3 is familiar with it, but an outsider may be confused when his spell that should be causing 300 damage doesn't kill a character with 290 HP, whatever "pure damage" means or even stranger things like mixed damage. |

I think that a dedicated jungler is alot riskier than a trilane. Jungling is not that popular anymore and with good reason considering the bush on sentinel where you can block 2 spawns with a ward. That brings me to a question about DoTA2, is that bush still there? Last edit: 2011-11-06 01:42:46 |
