Been listening to a lot of music lately, and talking about it a bit with Sir Bibbit about some music. A little bit of searching has had me come across some old music that I used to listen to, and making me feel really nostalgic. Funny how certain things can strike that chord in you, bring up all those old memories.
I think all of the old music I used to listen to was mostly influenced by my step-dad. I didn't like him much, but he had pretty good taste in music. A lot of my taste nowadays comes from the stuff he showed us early on.
Cake was probably the first band I ever actually got into. I remember thinking when I was younger, "I just don't like music." I didn't listen to much music, so I just assumed I didn't like it. Cake was what started to break me free of that. Some of the stuff I really liked: Comfort Eagle, Opera Singer and Never There. I remember especially when I got my first MP3 player (254 megabyte) I would listen to this trifecta every day as I walked to school. + Show Spoiler +

Daft Punk- One More Time. This song always made me feel really good. Dunno what it was about it, it just had that magic. Still does. + Show Spoiler +
Clay Aiken. Yeah, I almost cried when he lost to Ruben in American Idol Season 2. Got his CD for Christmas, listened to it every night before going to bed. (Yes, I admit it). This is probably the cheesiest song ever, but I loved it. I could still sing along to it, haha. + Show Spoiler +
That same Christmas, my brother got an Audioslave album. I didn't know what to think of it at first- It wasn't like the other mainstream stuff that was popular, kinda unconventional thing. The only song I liked on the album was Gasoline, but I've come to like it all. Chris Cornell has an amazing voice. + Show Spoiler +
My step-dad was a ska man. He has the ska dude tattooed on his arm, skanking it up. I always liked it, and liked the music. He always talked about ska, and I didn't know at the time what was ska and what wasn't. Rancid! + Show Spoiler +
Oh cool, I never realized I got knighted. Ty for reminding me. Anyway, definitely never figured you for a Clay Aiken fan. Do you still listen to that ? I had also watched that season of American Idol and was all about Clay Aiken. But I just listened to that song you linked and I can't even stomach it anymore. >_>
See my profile for things I've written. Samsung's Shine has developed a sick new tactic called "Pick a building you don't want the other guy to have, right click it with everything you own, then run away"
