Yes. I am the age of majority in AMERICA. Can't drink due to the commerce clause of the constitution. Darn that XD
Anyways, constitutional shenanigans aside, I do feel quite good about what is going on right now.
On Thursday I got my license. I took the driver's test after stumbling around with incompetent idiots at the DMV. My tester was really hot rofl >.>
This weekend was my Birthday, and I was the head of my 50+ person, 26th ranked nationally Model UN club. We had gotten the club award four years in a row at UC Berkeley Model UN, and lost it last year. This year, I am proud to say that we have reclaimed it. I was in Historical Security Council, and got third place in a 19 person advanced committee - not too bad. During this conference I got wished happy birthday wayyyy too many times. And hoisted up onto shoulders a few XD
On the way there, my wallet and $60 inside got lost on bart. I THINK it got stolen, I got quite jostled coming off of bart, and I checked just before departing. When in the station, however, it was not there. However, I actually only had my provisional license, which I took out, my school ID, a couple low value gift cards, and $60-80. Although it was far from ideal, and got my birthday off to a bad start, nothing too catastrophic was lost!
On Saturday Night I went out to dinner with our club advisor (his birthday), and met with a bunch of alumni at Cal. Excellent people, fun taking to. Thereafter I went to an acquantances dorm room at Berkeley. Apart from him scaring me shitless about EECS at berkeley, he convinced me I wanted to go. Even with suboptimal housing, the atmosphere is excellent if not eclectic. Conversations on partying at berkeley left me confused, but oh well. XD
I got a mid B on a math test I thought I literally failed. :D
I didn't get anything for my 18th birthday. Parents didn't know what to get, and I sucked at making up mind. need to ask soon, and I'll get something nice. Woohoo.
Lastly, having a license is nice. Freedom to drive to friends house and whatnot is nice.
DAMNIT NORTHEASTERN JUST ACCEPT ME, DECISIONS ARE THIS WEEK AND I ACTUALLY WANT TO GO ROFL.
I'm still being epicfail on asking girl to ball.

This is from memory, but it should be right.
1 cup unsalted butter, room temp
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Beat the wet ingredients until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients, excluding the powdered sugar. Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, then chill the dough for 30 minutes. Then, use an ice cream scoop to form rounds of diameter 1 inch and roll them lightly in the powdered sugar. Place on a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake at 350 for 9-11 minutes. Let cool for 2 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. Yields ~30 cookies. Serve (optimally) while hot: the edges will be crisp, but the middle should still be tender.Last edit: 2012-03-13 15:33:32 |
