P.S: I'm now thinking I should hang the white coat and stethoscope and dedicate to my SC2 casting career. u_u
*EDIT* -just to clarify the context, i should add to that: "... so I don't have to go through shit like that again."Last edit: 2012-04-14 01:17:01 |

That's just... not right O.O
Well done though, doc!
It's a pity how easily kids can be manipulated. At age 11 you're still so naive. |

Thats a bold move we will have to see if it pays off for you.
My cousin is actually an emergency room DR. and he always has the most intresting stories. On a much lighter note than yours one that comes to mind is the guy who dislocated his jaw trying to eat a big mac and number one concern was not having his wife find out because he had been sneaking big macs whlie on a diet. |

Wow that's horrendous.
Obviously you did the right thing, but that's still no comfort, nobody wins in that situation. I hope you have someone to talk to, friends, wife, counsellor, it'll certainly help you deal with something that messed up. |

| Great read, but I'm pretty sickened by the story. You made all the right decisions it seems like... Glad that there are doctors like you around the world. |

This is fucked up. I felt sick to my stomach reading it, blah. You did all you could, you can't control a rapist. I feel really bad for the girl and almost as bad for the father. But seriously how does an 11 year old get to having sex? You think you would know where they are at all times, they can't drive. Damn. Parents worst nightmare.
Edit* I already read your other two blogs, you write them well. So entertaining. Last edit: 2012-04-14 01:39:19 |

I honestly don't think you should be putting up these "so this happened at the clinic today" blogs. I realize that it would be hard/borderline impossible to connect these stories with real people, but as a doctor, I still think it is your duty to take the code of privacy very serious.
Going to the doctor should be a discrete and private experience. I wouldn't like to be a patient reading stuff about my medical issues on a website, even if no one knew it was me. |

Once again, you do exactly what you needed to do. You really really really should not feel guilty for anything, all you did was your job, which is to help people as best you can. Rest easy.

I applaud you for what you did. There's no reason to take advantage of a 11-year old girl like he did. What you did is amazing. So much respect for you. |

No names and no locations revealed mean no privacy violations. It would be morally and ethically questionable to reveal personal information such as names or locations. As long as that doesn't happen, no confidentiality breach has ocurred and thus this is nothing but a mere tale.
Regardless, I thank you for your concern. But I would never do such a thing as to reveal real names and places. I have a duty torwards my patients and their confidentiality; all the rest is just a story and I'm sorry if anyone is offended by me doing this. |

I'll take your advice. I don't really want anyone to be offended by what I write and if someone is, I should stop.
