It's been so long since I just sat down and committed to drawing something (that wasn't for SPL lol). So yeah, here's something I've been working on the last couple of days. Why IU? because she is #1 cutiepie :3

I don't usually draw girls (prefer cute boys instead), so I didn't realize how much harder it was to paint long girl hair :[

if you want some decent critique (aspiring to be character artist & concept art painter) -- eyeballs are never completely white, there are really thin red veins in there and the eyeball itself reflects a small amount of skin tone from the face around it. Also, the side of lips that receives light does not drop shadow, thus why it usually looks like it blends in one side of face. The hair in general also drops shadow, you need to indicate that aswell.
It's good overall but you are too indecisive with the direct lighting. It's those small things in the end that make alot of difference  Last edit: 2012-04-28 13:43:52 |
